Damn I did forget to sign that tool for you man! Glad it got to you. It’s heavy because it is the Surge model and has higher torque and quieter operation compared to Milwaukee’s gen3 M12 impacts. Hope you get some use out of the tool and thank you for the channel support man. Cheers
Richard! THANKS for the tool give away and congrats on the growth of your channel! Heavy is an understatement! That little guy is a beast for weight! I look forward to getting it in the ranks of the black and yellow. I will definitely get a lot of use out of it and really appreciate how much smaller it is than my smallest dewalt driver. This is going to be very handy and....very red!
Welcome to the dark side young Spencer... well.. ok maybe the red side. That Surge impact is my favorite impact driver and I have used a lot of impacts over the years. We have Dewalt impacts at school we use for the Geometry In Construction class, but they are just not as nice. That impact is awesome when you are installing cabinets and you have to stick your head in the cabinet to see what you are doing to put in screws. I think you will end up liking it. Wait until you drive your first screw with it. I think you will be impressed.
Thanks for commenting Russ! I do like the compact news of the driver. Like you, I did think of use with cabinet installs. I haven't used it yet but when I have time I will do a small project and make a red tool video!
Free stuff is great. I really like Milwaukee, but two battery systems are enough. I'm thinking about getting Milwaukee's 18 and 15-gauge nailers, but adapting them to use DeWalt batteries.
Howdy Ron. Thanks for commenting! It took a tool give away to get me into another color but it looks like it will turn out well! I, in fact, do have other tool colors, but they are all corded. This is the first non-yellow cordless in the mix and I am looking forward to the use. I am surprised at just how small it is. I think you are on to the trick of tools with adapting them to use with Dewalt batteries. As any smart carpenter will do, I will wait patiently until a SMARTer carpenter makes a video on how well the adaptation works then copy what he does if it works well. I do admire the contractors that are okay with multiple tool platforms like Richard with Renovations and Repairs since they can get the "best" tool and not be prohibited by my model of a single charger platform. Your method sounds like a cheat code!
