❄️ A Snowy Morning in Austin |Cozy winter day| | Peaceful Day at Home 🌿🍵
This week, Austin surprised us with a beautiful snowy morning, turning our day into a winter wonderland! Myra was beyond excited to play in the snow, bringing back nostalgic memories of our snowy days in Korea. We spent the morning peacefully with warm green tea, a little exercise, and lots of love and laughter.
To make the day even better, we enjoyed a sumptuous homemade breakfast-soft idlis paired with flavorful sambar and coconut chutney.
Sharing the recipe here for you to try and enjoy with your loved ones:
Instant Idli Recipe
Soak 1 cup of idli semolina and 1/2 cup cur for at least 15mins
add fruit salt with some hot water for instant fermentation.
Pour into idli molds and steam for 10-12 minutes.
Sambar Recipe
Sauté onions and tomatoes with a pinch of salt.
Add frozen or fresh veggies and cook until softened.
Stir in turmeric, red chili powder, homemade sambhar masala, cooked dal, jaggery and tamarind water. Simmer until flavors blend.
Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
Coconut Chutney Recipe
Blend grated coconut, green chilies, roasted chana dal, and a small piece of ginger with water to a smooth paste.
Add salt and temper with mustard seeds, curry leaves, and dried red chilies.
Watching Myra make snowballs, giggle, and enjoy the winter was pure joy for us. It reminded us of the snowy evenings we used to have in Korea, where winters were her favorite.
As the snow melted, so did the week’s stress, leaving us with peace and gratitude for this unexpected day.
