I don't usually comment, but putting my two cents here in hope that people will try and understand my viewpoint. India is a hub of talent and there is a huge population, so, competition is huge as well. People here are not that much appreciated as in USA.
Take a look at expressionists, there are much better people in India who can emulate a famous personality, much better than people on America's Got Talent, but expressionists are not seen as a talent in our country. If you look even at ARR compositions, Jai Ho song for which he won Oscar is nothing compared to his first ever OST from Roja, when he was just 24-25 years old!
Funny thing most singers in India, even after winning such shows like Indian Idol and many such reality shows don't find much work in playback because of how the industry functions and politics from people who run them.
Therefore, real talent of such people gets neglected and you hear remixes of old songs with no creativity.
P.S.:
These are just my thoughts and observations that I've commented living in this country for almost 25 years. By no means I'm dis-respecting talent in India or USA or any other country. If I've offended you in anyway, I'm sorry.
I just want to say that raw talent in India exists in the streets, but it is not given that limelight, rather that opportunity even that it deserves, because there are so many other factors at play as well.

When I first heard it I thought it was Rahat Fateh Ali khan, but suddenly I thought he is sounding like Salman Ali. I googled and bammm I was correct. It was Salman Ali indeed. His talent is at another level. Needs more songs to become main stream and win awards. Once people get to know him, he'll be the next big thing.

@@tanmay8426 I am not sure why some accounts or some series are ok, but all of OSR' family man reaction episodes got removed from RUclips. Same might happen to their mirzapur reactions. Go check OSR's Twitter account, they've talked about it and also tweeted at prime video multiple times for permission.

Nope. All the five finalists in the previous year were better than Sunny. Even Ridham and Rohit were better than Sunny. Sunny only won coz he mimicked Nusrat and Rahat fateh Ali khan perfectly. But when required to actually sing anything outside his comfort zone he collapsed. He was more of a mimicry genius than an actual singer.
@@sshakababy Come on, i agree ridham was a good singer, but rohit wasnt good, his ego and attitude is so bad, plus, Sunny doesnt mimic, when he expands his range, thats not mimicking, you can only copy things upto a level, but after that you clearly need to know how to sing. Plus, you cant mimic every song:)
@@anandsharma16 bhai, I request you to re watch Sunny's performances with a neutral mind. I have grown up listening to both the Khan saabs. The thing is te Sunny sounded like Ustad Nusrat when he was singing Nusrat and sounded like Rahat when he was singing Rahat. The improvisations you hear in his performances are nit done by him, but were there in the performances by the original artists coz sunny never picked the popular studio version of Nusrat's songs. He always picked Khan saab's live performances to copy where khan saab himself did a lot of improvisations.
I admit tht Sunny had crazy range and he was amazing in the high octaves, but his knowledge about music and singing was zero. He was only as good as what he had heard. Rewatch Salman-Sunny faceoff and see how confused Sunny is when Salman starts to vocally adjust the musician's tempo ... Sunny had no idea what was going on. That's coz he is not a trained singer and has no musical inclination.
