Same with other 2nd gen groups like TVXQ, 2PM/AM, even girl groups like Girls Generation. Maybe because now kpop is really dominating the world, which means many netizens' eyes are on idols every move which makes it hard for new groups now to freely do anything they want but for 2nd gen idols, people already know how they are even before plus they are more older now so people don't care that much in whatever they do.

Wow, that’s how I felt when I first fell in love with kpop music. I have a certain group that I love since 2019 bec that’s when I first encountered their unique music with their comeback. I felt the song they delivered at the same time the artistry and story of their MV. I can see they are still delivering their songs same way as how they were before until now and not focusing on popularity. also they are slowly being recognized but I as a fan for some reason became anxious or can’t help but focus to the views and votings since I am also aware how kpop are now relying to what you have mentioned. I remember during the time of SUJU and Infinite I don’t even care about the views or the popularity and just enjoy their songs. I sure hope the artists themselves will not feel same way. I agree with this, the music which makes me love kpop music since 2006, that's why eventhough I didn't know all the details of every group, at least I know their songs cause I would listen to their tracks whenever someone made a debut or comeback cause I like the music and could find hidden gems from their b-side tracks. Espescially around 2009 till 2016, many group has various concepts from one another, so it was really fun to explore each of them. Many hit songs from that era too for example Shinee - Ring Ding Dong, SNSD - Gee, 2PM - Again and Again, 2AM - Can't Let You Go Even If I Die, T-Ara Bo Peep Bo Peep, Kara - Mister, Suju - Sorry Sorry, Afterschool-Diva and many more. These songs all from 2009 and they're hit, also have different concept from one another. But again it's a business so the people in the industry would push more into what public's love, so that mostly going with the trend cause business wise the competition is really fierce, it's not bad it just some group become lost their identity from what makes them unique in the beginning. And as the industry spreading more internationally, there are more varies audiences to be satisfied.

sorry, i would like to revise, they're from second gen, the first gen is 1990s until 2003, and the second gen starts at 2003-2010 (approx.), they debuted around 2008-2009, hence they're second gen ;) but yes i do agree with you, since they don't really care about their criticisms like the younger gens do ;)
Both 1st and 2nd gen idols actually. They have many interesting stories to tell and I love their carefree personalities. So far the only 1st gen idols I've seen guesting on Weekly Idol were Shinhwa and Sechskies. More from 2nd gen - Suju and SHINee have made multiple appearances, Big Bang and now 2AM
If kwanghee make a comeback with his group, I swear that I might cry so hard bcus I'm a very big fan of ze:a back then 😭 until now I still listening to their songs

Oh my! Felt like going back to the good old Korean variety shows. These groups are the first one I know when I started the K-pop journey in 2009. Love them looking like a group who lived in a dorm together....
Way back then, there used to be so many variety shows which put multiple group idols together....they even went overseas together to film shows and played fun games... male and female idols mixed together. Those were amazing times 🤗
Second generation kpop groups are crackheads and the funniest, 2AM and 2PM are a really funny combination too there are a lot of funny compilations of these groups

oh my god all their songs are so iconic & you can tell it belongs to 2AM at first hearing, heck you will even know the songs are sung by the same singer even if you don't recognize the group. It's the flow, tone of the songs that make it so close to 2AM's identity, and the golden vocals of course! love it!
2AM is the best. I remember my uni days listening to their songs, having an imaginary break ups while listening to their song 😂 And also the gap of being a ballad group but tons of fun in variety show! Welcome back 2AM.

oh my god all their songs are so iconic & you can tell it belongs to 2AM at first hearing, heck you will even know the songs are sung by the same singer even if you don't recognize the group. It's the flow, tone of the songs that make it so close to 2AM's identity, and the golden vocals of course! love it!
