    Personally I like reskinned mobs because to me it adds logic to how the world works. Bodies die and don’t always stop moving, but of course that looks different in different environments. A zombie in the desert has been mummified by the dry environment, a zombie in water bloats and rots faster. After enough time, land zombies turn into skeletons. Drowned rot too fast. Even very ancient dead in snowy biomes refuse to decay, shred of their clothes still preserved and bones covered in ice. In swamps, a zombie is turned into a skeleton even faster by the environment and we get Bogged.
    That said, it does feel lazy when they only add reskins. Goblins would be awesome. Personally I want the end to be redone and given more mobs. In the overworld I’d like more mobs like spiders that are passive during a certain time of day. Packs of coyotes aggroed only at dawn or dusk, or some sort of large evil lizard that tries to kill you during the day but gets cold and is peaceful at night. (I’m imagining something Komodo dragon ish, but I suppose a silverfish sized mob could also be fun, since people seem to fear mobs with small hit boxes, like baby zombies)

    • @fruity4820
      @fruity4820 10 месяцев назад +3

      Coyotes will never be added as a hostile mob, but I love the idea of a mob that spawn and attack as a group. Imagine a mob that is passive most of the time but once there are a whole bunch of them in the area they start to gang up on you, and if you manage to get their numbers down, they can flee instead of fighting to the death

    I personally am down for the skeleton variants. I think since they have set a pattern that mobs can have biome variants, we need more of them.
    But yes, a more prominent brand new mob would be much preferred.
    Edit: Honestly, every arrow should have a skele variant. You want a certain type of arrow? Don’t want to villager trade for it? Go build a skele farm in a certain biome. That seems rad. You’d probably have to sift out other mob drops depending on spawning rules. Skele variants make waaay more sense than zombie variants unless a special item comes with them like the tridents from the drown. Also not sure where to go further with spiders, but skeles seem like low hanging fruit.

Something that gets you, you don't know, and on full moon... you turn and you have to hunt villagers (would have extra strength to beat iron golems, but not enough to be OP) AND you have to do it or die. You can't use your inventory and if you die, that's a zenloss.

      Back in 1.7.10, there was a mod that added werewolves and the ability to become one (Witchery), but unfortunately, werewolves never naturally spawned. The only way to get them was to perform a semi-expensive ritual to turn yourself into a werewolf, perform quests to increase your werewolf level, and then spread the curse to a villager.
      You could also spawn one in with a special set up during the full moon, but I think that one despawns shortly after.

    Flying mob that spawns at high altitudes that you can ride like a horse. Maybe its hostile attack could be to grab and carry you up high then drop you. As a very casual minecraft player, i've never made it far enough in the End to get an elytra. Basically, I'm envisioning something like the Lammergeier. Big bird that nest in caves on steep cliffsides, so a rare nest in specific conditions with an egg you have to swipe and hatch for the tame version. Scavenges bones by dropping them on rocks, eats bones to heal. It could be carried over with a Nether and End version. Imagine bridging out over a lava lake.

    Unpopular Opinion Time: If I were designing Minecraft, I would not let Creepers spawn above sea level. They would be an underworld mob, only spawning in caves. My reason for this is that I believe the constant threat of Creeper explosions in the Overworld is EXTREMELY limiting to the type of interactive builds and games players can design, which otherwise could include many zero light level areas to spawn hostile mobs for players to fight with, but because of the Creeper, you can never implement mob spawning areas into any builds, because the Creeper would just destroy the build. And I think that is an absolutely MASSIVE missed opportunity for player made mini game potential.

    • @taytaythehufflepuff8532
      @taytaythehufflepuff8532 10 месяцев назад +2

      Or maybe, there needs to be a feature that allows a controlled spawn of creepers. (I think there is an option of "no mob griefing" which means creepers don't explode anything and enderman don't take blocks? At least, I want to say there's one on Java. But more control of mob spawning options would be nice. At the very least, it would allow for players to have the game experience they want.)
      The difficulty in minecraft is that we all play differently. I started deciding to go in creative to get blocks to build in survival, because I like the building experience better in survival, but I don't have the time to invest in minecraft to both gather the blocks and build my structure. The more options Mojang can give us to control what features show up in the world, the better, I think.

    • @Nephelangelo
      @Nephelangelo 10 месяцев назад +1

      If the Creeper is to be in the game at all, it should destroy blocks. Spawning under sea level I think is a very reasonable and intuitive compromise which allows the Creeper to remain a large part of the game and function as intended while also greatly reducing how much it inhibits player creativity. @@taytaythehufflepuff8532

    • @Yirggzmb
      @Yirggzmb 10 месяцев назад +5

      @@taytaythehufflepuff8532The problem with turning off mob griefing is that it also blocks stuff like villagers harvesting farms and sheep eating grass
      What we really need is the ability to adjust settings for everything separately. Endermen you can adjust via a datapack to limit the blocks they can pick up. But everything else is hacky at best. Like, there's a datapack that keeps creepers from blowing up blocks. But it does it by reducing the explosion power, so they also stop being dangerous to players

    • @taytaythehufflepuff8532
      @taytaythehufflepuff8532 10 месяцев назад +3

      @@Yirggzmb Ahhhh ok. (Which I agree is the reason why we could use more control over the minor settings in a way that is non-modded.) It would be nice to control some features to allow players to roam about their world as they wished. Sometimes I don't want to freak out about creepers exploding in my face, other times I'm ready for the (unnecessarily large) adrenaline rush I get from caving and exploration.
      Some of us casual players want a different experience in minecraft than the majority.

      @Yirggzmb 10 месяцев назад +2

    Proper Swamp mob: Living Vine Monster
    Attack: throws tendrils which pull the player toward the mob body; proximity then triggers damage effect (like thorns or poison)
    Drops: seaweed and spawn; if killed in the water (maybe limited by depth) a new mob is 'planted' and will eventually grow into a full and mobile mob...

      That monster from the Harry Potter franchise in the first movie... the ... name escapes me vine of death or something that you had to light up to make it leave you be or something. I'd always thought that would make a great MC "mob"(?). Not just for being trapped but also for trapping. Like you dig a hole and you get grabbed by it and you can struggle or leave it be. A mob wouldn't know any better and would get killed, but a player would try to ride it down even if it sucks their life (you'd take damage in its grasp) hoping the character has enough hearts. Or something like that.

They add the warden and they’re not threatening enough. They add the bogged and it’s not innovative enough.
    I think a lot of people forget that this is a long running game with many free updates that add all new content to the game. Almost any other game these additions would be paid DLC. That alone is a really great thing.
    You also have to realize not every update is going to be for you. There are clearly so many people excited for this new mob..it’s selfish to expect every update to blow YOU away when everyone enjoys different aspects of the game and is excited for different things. I’m not a techy player. Redstone additions don’t appeal to me. But I do know it makes a lot of people happy so I’m happy to see the game expand in those areas. Maybe instead of outright attacking, it runs away if you look at it, but runs up from behind and its attacks cause you to drop random items. Would be obnoxious, but certainly unique!

    I know that comments are rarely seen, especially two days later but those pipes with the pistons are great.
    If you extend the pistons into each other then you can have an accent color behind the piston arms. It’ll help later in the build.

    Ok! 32:00 Werewolf! This is one of the greatest ideas you've had! if Mojang doesn't implement it, it will be a monumental fail!

    I actually like the spruce trap doors with the piston pipes. They tie in the brown mud brick walls that you're using between the basalt pillars.

    About that conversation about mobs, I would like to see Mojang add mobs that take more advantage of Minecrafts uniqueness with it world made entirely out of voxels. The creeper is great and iconic because you literally couldn't add it to any other game. How about giant worms that dig through the ground and leave tunnels in the terrain, could be something the player has to intentionally spawn like the wither. Or how about a mob that picks up blocks and throws them at the player. How about a mob that adds to the terrain, a stone golem that grows stone pillars out of the ground to protect itself from arrows or as attack throwing the player into the air. Something like that would be awesome.

    Yas! Goblins! I've always thought having some sort of "village type" under ground, in the mossy areas, or like the badlands having Goblins because you can mine the most gold there, so have like a mining "village" with Goblins there would be freakin awesome!

      Goblins + hobgoblings + goblin mages and of course the goblin king. They'd live in caves by mountain faces and abduct villagers. They should have the ability to break fences or doors (with tools). Basically a very smart mob that learns (in game) by watching the player create their farms or house.

    For the vertical piston pipes - what if you moves the pistons apart by a block and extended them. Then ran chains in front of them to mask the extended arms.

    28:12 funny thing is... there's options to both safeguard your stuff against mobs (two types) and there's an option to keep your inventory on death. So them trying to make the game "safe" by not being creative... is like a third layer.
    This is why i play this game with something like... (i haven't even checked lately, so from a year ago) 130 ish mods (mostly mods and their supporting stuff).
    Terrain generation, component functionality, mob behavior, mobs, sounds, light, textures (only a little bit).... basically overhauled the game and made it something i can play without sinking time i don't have to sink in it, but still enjoy it. Thank FRAK for modders. I've made my own for a few things i couldn't find or couldn't find for my version, but if it weren't for them, i would've quit this game despite playing it from day one. Heck, MS' crap almost made me quit regardless. Account migraines ... that was a tough pill to swallow.

    I'd like to see a werewolf villager lol. See there's a one in five chance the village you stop in has a werewolf in it. You don't know till night fall any villager it attacks(like zombie villager s) also turn. That or a mob that increases in size and speed depending on difficulty. So kids playing easy mode don't have too tough a time, but those on hard have to run lol.
    I'm currently watching the live stream 5 hours later and replied as soon as the mob discussion came up....2 minutes later he mentioned the werewolf. Now I feel like a total idiot 🤣

    My problem with Minecraft updates currently is when they’re revealed. It feels like Mojang play their cards right at the beginning and then the wait until the update releases kills the interest. By the time we have the update we’ve already gotten to see and use everything via snapshots and previews.

Imagine a mob that spawns only in cave systems and sneaks up on and follows just behind you before attacking. And maybe instead of instakill, they do a bleed effect. Or drain your hunger super fast like an energy vampire.

    Talking about new mobs and how new hostile mobs should be unique in some way, I had an idea for a swamp mob that I think would rock. Some kind of kelpie/giant leech bog creature that latches onto the player and gives them slowness until they can get it off of them, maybe repelled by fire? so if you light a campfire they detach and run away/die if you catch fire.
