So glad you guys are enjoying the reaction - this track was super heavy. Now it’s sat with me for 24 hours, I can safely say it’s stirred up a lot of emotions for me (I lost my father last year) and learning they based the track around the TEAR grief psychology model, it just resonates with me deeply - so thank you so much guys 🖤 I’ve also been asked several times for Ryan’s channel as the link in the description is broken - you can find him here - youtube.com/@RyanReactsHQ?si=z07thubzIREvbUea Please go show him some love! Love you! 🖤
Sorry for loss, I lost my grandmother in May, my father in June and my dog Ireland in August last year, so now how you feel. You were spot on with your reaction, actually you are the only reactor who really understood the emotion they were expressing, love love loved your reaction to this song, as well as all the others. So J Hope didn’t rap when he joined BTS, he would from practicing with Rm and Suga in the dorms and found his own style so that is why you can tell the difference in their styles, you are extremely intuitive, you get these guys so well. Oh and btw love listening to talk, l am a sucker when it comes to British, Irish and Scottish accents, so could listen to you just read the phone book 😂, but also as I said, very intelligent and intuitive, and yes BTS does find you when you need them the most, it is so true, happened with my sister when she was in the hospital after her heart attack, she then wouldn’t stop talking about them so since she didn’t really have anyone to talk to about them in the beginning I would let her go on and on, till then I got hooked with their dancing skills, the fandom who treated you as if you were a life long friend, and then when the pandemic hit, I was really glad I had already been following fhem for a few years since 2018 and I was regretting I didn’t know about them in 2013, but thank god their earlier lives live on youtube and weverse so I was able to see what I missed, I feel like I have been following since 2013. Glad you are finding them now, enjoy 💜💜💜💜
I’m so sorry about your dad. I’ve lost mine as well and it was so hard. There have been so many times where one of their songs will suddenly smack me in the face emotionally even though I’ve heard it multiple times.
@@Kookietaetan the pandemic was such a lonely time for so many people so I’m glad they brought you some comfort! And I’m so sorry to hear of your two losses. I hope you are doing better now my friend (and I hope your sister is too! 🖤)
RM is the brains, a poet and philosopher. Suga is the guts, everything is laid out for all to see/hear through his lyrics, and J Hope is the heart, all the emotions on the outside shown through his dance and facial expressions. 💜
@@MCDofWCR I think everyone should watch that live headlining performance. I can link you the set that was subtitled, and in two parts. A reaction to it would be great. This song always hits me hard. 😢 It’s not just their spectacular delivery, but knowing Yoongi (Suga) wrote it when they were thinking of disbanding, breaks my heart. He said he played the song for the members and they all cried together. Thankfully they decided to remain together!!!!💜💜💜🥰
I think this is one of the most emotional songs by BTS, and it was written when they were considering disbanding in early 2018. They were skyrocketing in popularity in the West, and the pressure to keep performing at the highest level were draining them. For some months they only had one day off per month. They were overworked and exhausted. But their love for music and performing, for each other, and for their fans pushed them through. RM is a poet and he's known for his beautiful lyrics. His song "Wild Flower" is produced by DOCSKIM, who also produced this track. J-hope is a consummate performer. His 70-minute set at Lollapalooza is electrifying. "More" and "Arson", if you want to see more from him. Suga/Agust D has several songs telling his personal story, like "The Last", "Dear My Friend", "First Love". The songs themselves are already emotional, and the live performances take them to another level. I love BTS songs that tell about their personal stories. "Born Singer" is about their debut experience and "Hip-hop Lover" is about their relationship with hip-hop. They are sincere in every song, in their lyrics and their performances, and sometimes it means being vulnerable and emotional.
Someone said that in terms of rap, RM is like a percussion, J Hope string instrument, and Suga wind instrument. I really enjoyed your commentary. It made me pay attention to the instrumentals for the first time and how those affect the emotions I am feeling every time I listen to this. No matter how many times, while not understanding a word of Korean. And your comment about J Hope being the most emotionally expressive even if the other two were burning with their emotions too. Wow. Korn, I remember them. Blast from the past. Thank you so much for this brilliant reaction. I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT. Your closing remark especially. ❤
Suga said T. E. A. R. the stages of grief. To accept the reality of the loss. Experience the pain of the loss Adjust to the new environment without the lost person Reinvest in the new reality
I couldn’t pick a “favorite BTS rapper” to save my life, because I connect to all of them in different ways, but I’ve noticed Suga’s verses tend to hit me the hardest. Pretty consistently since I became ARMY a few of his lines in a song have stood out & gotten me to look into the dark corners I tend to stuff painful topics in and avoid for years. It feels like he grabs a huge spotlight and points it directly at them so I can no longer ignore them. This acronym is a perfect example. I don’t deal well with goodbyes/loss and it’s something I really need to work on addressing.
I have always been into indie, rock and rap so I got into BTS through the rap line. Cypher 4 popped up and I had never seen anything like it. Amazing lyrics and the whole crowd chanting 'I love myself' in a rap track? I had to know more and that was it. I am now forever spoiled and no other artist has come close for many reasons. The lyricism, the musicality, amazing production, top tier performances, everything done at the highest level. And with a work ethic and the appreciation of fans I have never seen before. Looking forward to watching your 'getting to know BTS' reactions!
9:30 One of the many things that separate BTS is authenticity whether in their music or in their daily interactions. They're not afraid to show their emotions and speak their minds freely. They're some of the most genuine celebrities I've ever seen which is a major factor as to why they are who they are. Their fans feel truly connected to them you'll feel it too the more you react to them and their music 👏
@@MCDofWCR They really are I'm new to them myself and I wish I'd discovered them earlier 💜 You can also start reacting to their variety show Run BTS they're natural comedians

As you’ve been told in many of the comments what Outro: Tear is about, a great follow-up to this would be BTS Artist of the Year acceptance speech @ MAMA 2018. This award was so important to them because it meant that they were doing the right thing by staying together. J-Hope accepts the award and breaks down crying. Jin talks about their thoughts of disbanding. It’s an essential part of understanding BTS’s history, so please react to it.
Suga was the first to write his verses when they were thinking about disbanding (2018), after he showed it to his brothers (BTS) they all cried together and, thank God, they decided to keep being together. I love the way they transform their experiences in art and give them to us to heal (them and us).
Wonderful reaction and breakdown on this one. I often think the fandom asks for this song too early, and people don't always get the depth of the pain. But you got it right away. I have seen this video so many times, and the guttural sound that J-hope makes at the end breaks me every time. It is the way he uses sound with his whole body. Onomatopoeia-ic. I am so happy that you found poetry in music. Art allows us to feel things so much deeper. One of the reasons I love BTS so much is that they are poets. Shakespeare is my thing, and in my mind, they are modern-day Shakespeares. Highest praise I could ever give. J-hope has a couple of songs from what could be considered his dark period. I really think you would love them. Arson and More Other rap songs that break you a little Wildflower by RM Amygdala by Agust D aka Suga (last song in a trilogy with Daechwita and Haegeum) One The Street and Piece of Peace by J-hope more make me feel very nostalgic. 😢 😘❤️🫰🏻🫶🏻
I was a bit nervous to cover this one because as you say, it has been so heavily suggested so I knew it was a ‘significant’ one - but I’m glad I did. It really resonated with me and it’s one of those rare tracks that kinda sits with you after you’ve listened - a little like a movie. I’ve thought about it a lot! I will definitely check out these suggestions. Thank you for watching 🖤🖤
When they performed it, ARMY didn't know that it was about the disbandment talk from 2017-2018 so I think the emotion in the performance was a little surprising to ARMY. I believe it was about a year after the concert when Suga spilled the beans that it was from their disbandment talks. He wrote it for the members and then RM and JHope added their verses. RM is TEAR from crying, Suga is TEAR into pieces and JHope is FEAR. And Korn is one of my top 10 favorite bands, along with In This Moment & Nonpoint, but BTS is always at the top. 🙂
My most precious bts song along with Black swan orchestral version. The fact that we all felt the anger, the frustration, the desperation, the grief and the acceptance in this song before we even fully understood what the song was actually about. Later when Suga said its about the members, it completely made sense but also broke our hearts
they use Tear in 2 ways - Tears meaning crying and Tear meaning ripping apart which is why j-hope starts his verse as "why does it flow, why does it get torn". he says it two ways in the last line of the song and although its not clearly heard in the live version, they pronounce it differently in the chorus as well!
i'm so glad you love j-hope because i personally think he is underrated and not talked about as much as RM and Suga as a true rapper. people still sometimes consider him as a dancer who raps when is a true lyricist and real rapper. he has some of my favourite parts in BTS songs! i also recommend checking out some of their other work! my favourite tracks are - Strange by Suga and RM, 1verse by J-hope, Amygdala by Suga, Sexy Nukim ft RM, and also i recommend the whole INDIGO album by RM! an absolute masterpiece (especially the track Closer)
I can’t imagine performing this every night given the background of the song. Yes, I definitely see it in Hobi in this performance. I give all of the guys a whole lot of credit for being as open as they have been with their emotions. They’ve never shied away from showing the darker parts of their lives. We’ve seen every single one of the seven cry, sometimes together, sometimes separately, and all of them comfort each other. As much as it hurts to see them hurt, it’s beautiful to see men so comfortable with expressing their emotions. Jimin flat out said, “I realised it’s not good to hold back tears. You should cry whenever you want. There’s nothing worse than suppressing tears.” Coming from the guy who had to put on a hyper masculine front in their early days (and who has since grown into his real self), I think it was really wonderful he said that. I’m not diminishing all the others have said, this is just a quote that has stuck with me since I first saw him say it.
@@MCDofWCR- one of the greatest things about BTS has been seeing how many boys & men have been affected positively by them as proven by the hundreds of reactions that exist on this platform. 💜
@@djlivvy46To be fair that thick eyeliner look was common for rock/metal bands in the 80’s/90’s and for pirates and other “fierce” types of characters in movies & video games.
Listening to this song the first time got me so emotional because so many people can relate to this song, resonating with it in their own way AND then finding out the meaning behind the lyrics from the members got me balling my eyes out even more. 😭💜🎶 These guys are amazing lyrical genius in their own way..their own flow..their own art. RM raps like he analyzes the world. Suga raps like he criticizes the world. Jhope raps like he visualizes the world. Paraphrasing this analogy of their flow is such an understatement. Miss them so much...all 7 members. Apo Bangpo 💜
You are right about jhope. While suga and rm have completely different technical and poetic styles, jhope has an emotive style of rap. You can see it in their mbti types too, rm is entp or enfp, suga is intj (both intellectual thinker types) and jhope is esfj an extremely emotional and physical personality type. The 3 of them compliment each others brains which is why make such good thoughtful music together. One of my favorite BTS tracks is called RAIN from dark and wild and all 3 rappers take turns painting a lyrical picture and interpreting the meaning of rainfall in seoul city. RM interprets rain as creative burnout, suga as transience of life and jhope as depression. And that shows you how 3 rappers can use a single metaphor in 3 different ways in one song.
I think I relate to him because I was quite similar! I used to make very emotional rap whereas my peers were slightly better at the more complex aspects. I couldn’t dance like J-Hope though 😂 I will be sure to check out RAIN!
Rm raps with his whole brain Suga raps with his whole heart Jhope raps with his whole body And docskim produced and arranged (I think) for this performance… Some folks love the ciphers But so much of them is very pointed towards incidents and personalities particular to Korean artists Some prefer Ddaeng and ugh But again without the insight into Korean language and culture a lot is missed (Although the “explained by a Korean videos help lol) But outro tear … the only reference that usually not Caught, is Suga’s T.E.A.R. Which refers to the TEAR Model of Grief A frequently used model in professional grief counseling settings is the TEAR model. T = To accept the reality. E = Experience the pain. A = Adjust to the new environment. R = Reinvest in the new reality. Otherwise the sadness anger and fear surrounding their almost disbandment in 2018 is unmistakeable In every word
That makes so much sense and it’s super cool/touching they used an actual psychology model to base a track around and vent their emotions. I bet it was super cathartic for them all 🖤
@@MCDofWCR they get pretty involved in their thematic drive More On that when you watch blood sweat and tears… have you watched blood Sweat and tears ? I’ve lost track with you appearing on various channels Meanwhile I’ve Been meaning to Ask Do you know one ok rock?
Thanks for this reaction - I love that BTS always write lyrics with substance... and their play on words is always so intelligent - for this one RM sings Tear as in cry... Yoongi sings Tear as in 'rip or rend'... Hobi's is Fear... this was a very emotional track but Army didn't find out until afterwards just what it meant... it wasn't until after the awards night in 2018 that it all came to light....
This song is so dear to me. My favorite BTS song. The anger, the sadness and the regret are so powerful. You can feel the depth with which they agonised of their feelings and decisions at this point. It to me shows the true love and dedication that they have towards each other and their love that won out in the end.
That song make me fall in love with Bts's rap line. The emotion, the rawness, the authenticity of the performance just grab me, and the lyrics hit me hard...
Jonathon rocks. I first got into Korn around 99. I completely agree with you about jhope which is why he's my bias in the group. This track was created when they were on the verge of breaking up because they were so exhausted. Its not rap but I think you should check out 'Louder than bombs', I think youd enjoy it.✌️💜
Same time period for me! His vocal style/lyrical content was just something I had never seen before and it saved my life honestly! I will check it out:) thank you for the suggestion 🖤
Bts wrote this song about themselves… in late 2017 into early 2018 they were all really struggling emotionally mentally and physically etc…they considered disbanding at this time. They had been together since 2011 and debuted in 2013. Their schedules increasingly became insane! Lots of pressure all around … if you go back and listen to the lyrics, they really fit what was going on at the time. “We dreamed the same dream “ … I think that’s why they rap so passionately! It is such a beautiful and sad passionate song. I also love the real sincere feelings that they convey through their lyrics. They are relatable to anyone! I love this song! Thank you for your BTS reactions 👍🏻👍🏻😊
BTS wrote this song to the fans to let them know what the members were going through. They experience a period of extreme exhaustion to the point they were considering disbanding and I think the lyrics is expressing that they were on the brink of breaking up and breaking each other and the fans' hearts. They went through such a hard year emotionally all while winning awards after awards.
This is one that all I can do is cry 😢 To think these young guys were going thru so much and hurting so bad, but they never let any Army's know... They never spoke of any of it...till Jin said what he said at the awards ceremony and then we found out. 😢 They are all so brave and so strong young men. Suga poured his heart out.....All three of these young men LOVE this group and it was heart wrenching to know they were hurting so much. 😢 Bless you for being so astonishingly perceptive to get how they felt. Blessings 🙏🕊🙏🕊🙏🕊🫰💜💜💜
you explained the feeling of this song perfectly. i've never heard anyone call this song pretty but i completely agree! its so beautiful with the chords and the lyrics. its like a poem.
Same for me. I like them 3. RM and Suga are extraordinary and so skilled and tallented. Mr Presidents is so intelligent with his lyrics and Suga is so sharp and raw and an amazing producer but J Hope is my cup of tea. By the way, this could be a fantastic break up song but it was written when the BTS boys were thinking of a possible disbandment.
Can’t wait! Love this. I’ll already mention so you can enjoy the lyrics and beats and flows that was written by RM, Suga, J-Hope and Docksmin when they were thinking of disbanding. They wrote this and afterwards, Suga sent letters to some of the vocal line to support and they all decided to keep pushing forward. I hope that doesn’t spoil it. 😊💜

When I was Baby ARMY, I saw a post that said it feels like BTS songs understand you. That resonated with me so hard. I know it seems impossible, and it's difficult to explain. But when you feel it, it makes perfect sense. I'm sorry for your loss. I am grateful BTS found you when you need them most. It's part of the BTS Magic. 💜
Love your reactions!!! Even if you didn't like it I just know you would have something intelligent to say about the music or even why...thankfully you did though 😄 Other's have already given context to this being about them considering disbanding. For context of where it sits in their discography. They have a 3-album series called Love Yourself (Her, Tear & Answer). This track is from the 2nd - exploring the dark side of being in relation to people (it can be superficially taken as partnered relationships but I believe for BTS it's not meant to be limited to that or was even written with that in mind, clearly) - the title track is Fake Love (for them it was inspired by feeling like they didn't want to let Army down and let us know how tired and burnout they were), there's also Seesaw (not wanting to be the "bad guy" for being the one to end it - from what Yoongi said in Beyond the Story that's how they were all feeing, not wanting to be "the one" to call it quits). RM and others have said this album almost didn't get made, that's how close they were to disbanding. Thankfully that didn't happen and we're here now sharing it as part of their history and the art they made from their pain.
I've never seen your channel before, but I always stop scrolling for Outro: Tear. I feel the same as you about Hobi. When I first heard this song, I had no context and didn't know what they were saying, but Hobi's ending verse brought me to tears. As you said, I felt the anguish. I appreciate your authentic, thoughtful reaction. 💜
Yeah like all of them rapline are amazing talented very impressive. But jhope speaks to me the most. He tugs my heart with his music and performance. So I do have jhope closest to my heart.
My favorite moment in my last BTS concert was this song…it was so amazing live. The whole concert was but this song stood out, the emotion was incredible 💜
The string the arrangements the lyrics, the delivery the beats. This is what drew me to the rap line. The reason for talks of disbandment? The guys had been working hard for 5over 4 years. Finally starting to see some success but that pace took its toll. Especially on the maknae line. V/Taehyung said that he seemed to have the hardest time because he is slower and laidback person. this pace was a complete overhaul/juxtaposition to him as a person. Jin said that during that time, they only had 1.5 days off every month. This wasn’t their debut, this was occurring 4 yrs after their debut. Was this worth it to them as individuals? And if one is out, then they are all out. It wasnt about obtaining their dream, they were there. It was about the cost of it. And that’s something they had to answer individually, but in reality, the strength as a team, and that loss would be worse. They trusted in each other to help each other be strong. It’s heartbreaking to hear this song.
Loved your reaction. I love this song and I can feel their emotions and how they cope with their feelings. I agree with what you said and how sometimes you let go. Loved your analysis of the song. Stay safe. Welcome to BTS and enjoy your trip down the rabbit hole. We are here to support you.❤😊
Your 'amateur sicology of the day' is on point. They had that grieving period as group (these three had always been the compass of BTS so they've decided to show the most difficult time as band members)
Absolutely! So many metal and rock fans can't be open minded, but there is really a lot to love if you can move past the "kpop" label. I've noticed a lot of rock and metal fans loving stray kids and ateez (just like me).
@@MichelleRevs it is crazy how many metal fans seem to gravitate towards it. I think it’s a combination of passion, emotion, theatrics and showmanship that does it!
@@MCDofWCR it actually makes perfect sense when you put it like that. Not sure if you've done ateez yet, but some of their albums (the world ep 1 and 2) are really rocky and proggy.
I was there to see this performance live and let me tell you it was out of this world.. i was able to see this song performed live 6 times and it was amazing and yes goosebumps every single times.. my favorite rap song ever.. never tired of listening to this song.. few times when I had long drive i played this song on repeat for over an hour.. glad you got Hobi.. Namjoon raps with his brain, he makes you think with his words Hobi raps with his heart, he makes you feel his words Yoongi raps with his soul, he hits you with his words
People are always undermining Jhope’s penmanship. He has written very complex lyrics, they are too abstract for the normal people to grasp it. About the emotional connection, he stands apart because he is a PERFORMER through and through! His insanely strong stage presence pulls your attention to him and he pulls you into his words and his emotions. Jhope is also not less than other in techniques, they were all in underground scene, while he didn’t rap, but he was a street dancer. He was into hiphop way before the other two so rapping came to him naturally as a street dancer. If we speak about techniques we need to touch on the flow. And he is famous for his insane flows. He doesn’t have a fixed one and can switch to three or four flows within a chorus or line. He can do speed rap too, fastest doesn’t make one the best. Rap is rhythm and poetry and he is exceptional in both. Putting this out here because he is always placed third behind namgi when he can possibly outdo them, actually might have already done that. He can also sing and I don’t have to say he can dance. Jhope is literally an ACE! Again not saying to put down Namgi, they are as accomplished too. Just that a few section of people always discredit Jhope penmanship or rapping skills. He is not less to the other two in any way. They all got trained in BH for rapping under well known khh rappers. 🤷🏻♀️
Yes it was very heart felt as it's about them when they wear worn out and also receiving hate not had any time off and they talked about disbanding. These are the thoughts the Rappers put down about the idea of disbanding. Suga played it for them all and they cried together and decide they were not disbanding it wasn't really want they wanted to do they just needed some rest a few week off to recharge the batteries as it were.
this was a great video! glad to see how much this touched you, when you listen without prejudice and truly understand the lyrics you feel like a whole new world has opened for you. this is just a suggestion but i wonder if you can maybe listen to the studio and live versions in the same video in the future, once so you can appreciate the track's instrumental and lyrics, and once to enjoy their performance and passion, just a suggestion tho you do you!
I appreciate how you looked at this song. I saw it in a different way after hundreds of times so thank you. Agust D cries. No often but he totally broke down on his Agust D tour during one of his dates. He talks about it after with the fans (online ofc).
OMG I love Jonathan Davis too. I love groups like Korn, Linkin Park. I’m back after watching your reaction and comments. Very intelligent and insightful. That’s another reason I like hearing what you have to say. I will say, as you also said, not to say anything about J-Hope and Rm since I do love their styles, that I am more a Suga bias. J-Hope is amazing with his expression. I suppose it’s because I relate in many ways to Suga/Agust-D. For me, I feel he writes so much about his personal experiences as well that he exposes a lot of himself. J-Hope is bubbly, makes lots laugh, cry, respect! Through😢their career together, RM and esp Suga hold back showing their emotions or did from the public since RM is the leader and Suga was known to be quiet but loving. Until the last Day of his D-Day concert, no one ever saw Suga cry and sing/rap with so much emotion. J-Hope was also in the crowd with Jin and J-Hope did help Suga with …was it some choreography ARMY? Suga shouted to J-Hope giving him props. That’s my reason for liking 1. I love each of them for different reasons and I can see why you are drawn to J-Hope and respect and am happy that you find his performances captivating. As an amateur psychologist as well, I understand those 7 stages of grief and how Suga incorporated them too. Many have felt these stages. I still have yet to come to the ‘acceptance’ for some. BTS encourages us to let out our feelings regardless of who we are. I’m female, but have also grown up taught not to show your feelings. I am now fierce so many years of being ARMY though I am older so looked at their songs as things I did think after I found them shortly after their debut. Some people are not used to me expressing certain things and in many situations, I still have to hold everything together. I love how you mentioned poetry and rapping. That’s what I also feel! I used to write a lot of poetry or lyrics and also play a couple of instruments but couldn’t get them to go together. You are extremely talented that you can do shows of your own and I thank you for sharing your thoughts. I do love BTS as ARMY, but I obv listen to other artists though oddly, none of them have made me want to become a better person. Cheers to you! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜🇨🇦🇯🇵👏👏👏🎶 Normally, I’d suggest Amydala by Agust-D but you have to see his other 2 first since it’s a trilogy. I see others have recommended fantastic songs by J-Hope so looking forward to next reaction. I
Thank you so much for watching and for the lovely thoughtful comment - I’m so glad you’ve managed to find and express yourself and long may that continue! They’re all amazing artists and I’m sure each one appeals to different people for different reasons as you’ve said 🖤
I have to admit that Jhope used to be my least favorite member. However as I learned about the individual members, my esteem for him has grown and grown. Despite the fact that he is touted as a scaredy cat I think he is the bravest when it comes to the things that really count. I became a Jhope fan when he was the first member to release his solo album after BTS announced their temporary hiatus. It took guts to be the first one out of gate when Army's emotions were so high due to the fear of a possible breakup. Then he doubled down and headlined Lallpalooza. He said he wanted to play in front of an audience that was not all Army. He wanted to see if non Armys would like him and his music. That takes guts and I'm so proud of him. I'm so happy that he smashed the performance and I love every single song on his debut album and newest album. I wish him continued success and am here for it.
I’m really happy I found your channel! Your reactions are so genuine and honest and sweet, and it gives me a lot of joy to join along you as you go down the BTS rabbit hole! 💜 There are many BTS songs with melodies and lyrics that have the power to gut me. I don’t know how to explain it… Even in some of their lighter tracks there is sometimes some melancholy in it. I want to say BTS seasons some of their songs with “han”- this Korean concept that has to do with sorrow and grief (based on their colonial history). The han I sense in their music emotionally resonates with me on such a deep level. It reminds me so much of loneliness, of quiet despair, all the tiny little cuts, the numerous disappointments, heartaches, and failures that sometimes become beautiful and helpful tools (once someone has healed). Their music breaks my heart and heals me at the same time. I hope you keep sharing your reactions! When you have a chance, I think you would love “Ddaeng.” Check out the song, but (very important) also check out the behind the scenes part. Ddaeng also deserves a watch of the explanation video as it illuminates all the magical nuances within it-stuff we wouldn’t know about since we are Westerners.
Yes KORN !!! You will find a lot of ARMY also like Korn... many metal fans (myself included) have fallen for BTSs lyrics and emotional deliveries.... their honesty in music cant be denied... Yes, Poetry is fire!! RAP is by its very definition... Rhythm and Poetry.
Great reaction. I thought you would like their rapline and harder songs when you eventually got to them. This is one of my all-time fave BTS songs and I am glad you watched it. So emotional. JHOPE in this... ❤🔥After Suga wrote his verse when they were all talking about disbanding, they wrote their verses based on how it made them feel... for RM it was a sadness (TEAR) and for Suga it was like being torn apart (TEAR) and for Hope it was a fear. These guys expressed it all so well. Thanks for checking it out. If you haven't done Baepsae (aka Silver Spoon aka Crowtit aka Try Hard) yet, I highly recommend it. It is one of their more serious songs with intentionally silly choreo. These guys have lots of depth. Plus rapline songs Ddaeng and Ugh. Links below, including the versions of BTS having fun with their own songs, as usual, and the DKDKtv explanations because they are worth it! You could do the one for Ddaeng too and no one will get mad! LOL. But I did include the link to the video with included brief explanations. Have fun on your journey in all music! Loved your reaction. Thank you. I was one of the lucky ones to watch this performance live when they were in Canada back in 2018. They're such power house on stage.
I agree with you about J Hope but the other 2 rappers do have songs where you can really feel their emotions. Suga especially. In particular Snooze, The Last, and Amygdala. The last has no music video, but you can find a lyric video. I almost prefer the lyrics video for a first listen before a live performance because reading the lyrics is so important for that one. Snooze has a fan made music video that is awesome, unlike most fan made music videos, and Amygdala is the third in Suga’s trilogy that includes Daechwita, Haegeum, and Amygdala.
Oh I don’t doubt it and I will definitely check the other guys out! I feel like J-Hope has a sort of ‘vulnerability’ about him which I can’t help but feel connected to - I’m definitely looking forward to checking out RM and Suga’s solo stuff though for sure 🖤
I'm really glad you have come to accept showing sad emotions. j-hope is my bias, too. BTS have helped me a lot to become a healthier person in my emotions and outlook.
It’s an awesome song! I think I would’ve enjoyed it even without the lyrics/captions - they created such an atmosphere just with their delivery and body language! 🖤
You should really listen to The Last from Agust D - SUGA's solo name. It's a really emotional track as well. It never fails to make me feel so many emotions. It's usually not recommended too much because it's a personal track, but I think you're really invested and have a lot of emotional intelligence so you'll appreciate it 💜
Hi, I am back. Good reaction, ty. Appreciate u pausing and speaking more here. I really want to hear what u have to say. This song talks about them breaking up. It is a heartbreak song. When Suga was rapping did u see he was acting like he kept getting punched. The acting, dang. Dior BTS is everything. Suga is so swaggy. RM so cute and Hobi 0.0. Jimin bias, Suga wrecker and OT7. But after this song Army were dead!!! I am glad u re-watched this and read the lyrics. Such a powerful song. It is intense. It is passionate. It is truth spoken out loud and thank god never fulfilled. So much feels. Love it. The stage mix is fine too hope u check it out as well as their other stages of this song. Suga is the main producer in BTS. RM is the 2nd producer but he been writing more then producing in the last few yrs. Burn It is also a call back to one of Suga's songs in his mixtape. Hugs. -2019 Army NY USA💜 Suga said: "the lyrics for Tear were written for the members. When I was writing the melody, at the time, we were deeply contemplating whether we should quit or not. When I played the song for the members we all cried together". Also RM is saying "Tear" as in crying and Suga as in ripping something apart. Imajin All The Purple said on 2/25/23 They actually hid a third meaning of tear in the song: Suga says T.E.A.R. which is a coping mechanism for loss: T - To accept the reality of the loss E - Experience the pain of the loss A - Adjust to the new environment without the lost person R - Reinvest in the new reality They are lyrical kings indeed! 💜 andreza said on 2/25/23 I REALLY recommend you guys to watch their speech at the 2018 MAMA Award Show when they won Artist Of The Year. Another musical style/genre TK add to the BTS list. For more emotions, the vocal line can suck you in either Truth Untold (ballad) or House of Cards (r&Bjazz). Also, magic shop, that one is for Army and is beautiful.
Loved your "amateur psychology" lesson although I don't think there was anything amateur in it. You got the emotions right. That's exactly how I feel about the song. Also, what drew me to BTS is their courage to be vulnerable and real in front of us. Not only have they shown their strengths, "weaknesses" shared their worries with us, they have even made a point to show the inevitable "ugliness" of life, and all that while humanising all those emotions and humanising themselves. There is literally a video of Taehyung and Jin having a no-so-pretty argument with each other and the members sitting down together to resolve the conflict. You will have to watch the video for yourslef to know what I mean. I was taken aback by the kind of emotional intelligence these young men displayed in that clip. While "idols" are supposed to be "perfect", BTS strays away to show that they are equally human as us and go through similar experineces as us. It has been such a beautiful learning experience knowing about these 7 amazing men! I hope you get to see that clip by yourself and I hope you understand what I'm trying to say!💜
Yes, your feelings were very spot on and intuitive here. I really liked it. 💫 🐈 I do see the comparison to Korn as Rm really spits his feelings out like a perfect storm - Suga incinerates his heart - & J-hope almost feels as if he is about to throw up his torn emotions and his shredded heart right there on stage 'for everyone to see...' It's a very brave performance from all 3 & especially from J-hope who is all feelings here.. ✨ Ps: I think my favorite song from Korn is "Blind." And Mostly for how his emotions run so deeply through the lyrics; As if he is fighting himself, pushing each word out like they are crushed pieces of glass and barbed wire, dragged through his throat, just... One painful syllable at the time. -> It does something to me. 🔥💔 (Anyways. 😇) Rec: 1) "Spring day" from BTS is 💜 but there is One theory that I think you should read a few lines about first.. 2) "The last" by AgustD made me actually Cry, first for one emotion, and then for another..
So glad you guys are enjoying the reaction - this track was super heavy. Now it’s sat with me for 24 hours, I can safely say it’s stirred up a lot of emotions for me (I lost my father last year) and learning they based the track around the TEAR grief psychology model, it just resonates with me deeply - so thank you so much guys 🖤

@@djlivvy46 I don’t doubt that for a second!

RM is the brains, a poet and philosopher. Suga is the guts, everything is laid out for all to see/hear through his lyrics, and J Hope is the heart, all the emotions on the outside shown through his dance and facial expressions. 💜

They sound like such an awesome bunch of people - glad they stuck together 🖤
@@MCDofWCR they really are a treasure of a group.

I truly think Outro: Tear is a masterpiece. And I agree with you J Hope is just an epic performer. The rap line is just packed with talent.
Jhope! Gosh! No matter how many times I’ve watched this performance, at least 20 times, I got goosebumps every single time!
Suga said T. E. A. R. the stages of grief.
To accept the reality of the loss.
Experience the pain of the loss
Adjust to the new environment without the lost person
Reinvest in the new reality
That’s absolutely how it goes:(
I couldn’t pick a “favorite BTS rapper” to save my life, because I connect to all of them in different ways, but I’ve noticed Suga’s verses tend to hit me the hardest.
@@7Flowers1Dream - of all the BTS members, I think that Suga represents the Shadow persona the most.
As you’ve been told in many of the comments what Outro: Tear is about, a great follow-up to this would be BTS Artist of the Year acceptance speech @ MAMA 2018. Beautiful reaction and this performance is just an other level. They are amazing, J-hope isb🔥
Arson and More

Amygdala by Agust D aka Suga (last song in a trilogy with Daechwita and Haegeum)

Korn are awesome! That’s super cool they all had their own sort of ‘hidden’ meaning behind their verses too. Clever stuff!

My most precious bts song along with Black swan orchestral version. The fact that we all felt the anger, the frustration, the desperation, the grief and the acceptance in this song before we even fully understood what the song was actually about. Later when Suga said its about the members, it completely made sense but also broke our hearts
There’s an orchestral version of black swan? Damn, Ryan will love that! 🖤
Outro tear is my favorite song from the rapline. Yeah it's very sad but it's real, raw and beautiful.
they use Tear in 2 ways - Tears meaning crying and Tear meaning ripping apart which is why j-hope starts his verse as "why does it flow, why does it get torn". he says it two ways in the last line of the song and although its not clearly heard in the live version, they pronounce it differently in the chorus as well!
i'm so glad you love j-hope because i personally think he is underrated and not talked about as much as RM and Suga as a true rapper. people still sometimes consider him as a dancer who raps when is a true lyricist and real rapper. he has some of my favourite parts in BTS songs!
i also recommend checking out some of their other work! my favourite tracks are -
Strange by Suga and RM,
1verse by J-hope,
Amygdala by Suga,
Sexy Nukim ft RM,
and also i recommend the whole INDIGO album by RM! an absolute masterpiece (especially the track Closer)
Thank you for the suggestions! I will definitely try to get through some of these 🖤
I can’t imagine performing this every night given the background of the song.
It’s definitely wonderful he said that and hopefully those words will resonate with young men everywhere 🖤

this is my fav song from rapline, especislly live performance. I totslly agree with you on Jhope cadence and his emotions in his rapping.
They are not afraid of showing their emotions they are not afraid to cry.

Suga raps with his whole heart
Jhope raps with his whole body

This song is so dear to me. My favorite BTS song. The anger, the sadness and the regret are so powerful. You can feel the depth with which they agonised of their feelings and decisions at this point. It to me shows the true love and dedication that they have towards each other and their love that won out in the end.

This is one that all I can do is cry 😢
To think these young guys were going thru so much and hurting so bad, but they never let any Army's know...
They never spoke of any of it...till Jin said what he said at the awards ceremony and then we found out. 😢
They are all so brave and so strong young men.
Suga poured his heart out.....All three of these young men LOVE this group and it was heart wrenching to know they were hurting so much. 😢
Bless you for being so astonishingly perceptive to get how they felt.
Blessings 🙏🕊🙏🕊🙏🕊🫰💜💜💜
you explained the feeling of this song perfectly. i've never heard anyone call this song pretty but i completely agree! its so beautiful with the chords and the lyrics. its like a poem.
It is very pretty and even when I wasn’t reading the lyrics on screen, I felt what they were saying through their performance 🖤
I saw it when I was there, I've been to Wembley Stadium on a number of occassion's and the BTS concert has out topped them all.
Can’t wait! 😊💜
I’ve already reacted! It was very emotional and powerful 🖤

If you like emotional music. Check out Suga's "The Last" he did under Agust D. Will have to look up a color coded lyric video though. No MV.
8:12 i COMPLETELY AGREE!
Thank you for watching:) J-hope is great! 🖤
This gives me goosebumps every time I hear it. Such a powerful song knowing the story behind it.
We are here to support you.❤😊
I’m ready to get well and truly immersed! You guys have been so awesome 🖤
Your 'amateur sicology of the day' is on point. They had that grieving period as group (these three had always been the compass of BTS so they've decided to show the most difficult time as band members)
Yes, Korn is really emotional. 👍
There was authenticity in the music and performance. This was written for them.
Appreciation for Korn and BTS in one video is quite moving actually...
They’re both pioneers and both make authentic music! Just for different generations 😊
@@MichelleRevs we have an ATEEZ reaction dropping tomorrow 😊
I was there to see this performance live and let me tell you it was out of this world.. i was able to see this song performed live 6 times and it was amazing and yes goosebumps every single times.. my favorite rap song ever.. never tired of listening to this song.. few times when I had long drive i played this song on repeat for over an hour.. glad you got Hobi.. Namjoon raps with his brain, he makes you think with his words
Hobi raps with his heart, he makes you feel his words
Yoongi raps with his soul, he hits you with his words
Suga played it for them all and they cried together and decide they were not disbanding it wasn't really want they wanted to do they just needed some rest a few week off to recharge the batteries as it were.
this song always shed tears to my eyes
I think you would really like Agust D (SUGA) - The Last
I'm also gonna recommend jhope's lollapalooza set, at least the first half, it's so good!
this was a great video! glad to see how much this touched you, when you listen without prejudice and truly understand the lyrics you feel like a whole new world has opened for you.
this is just a suggestion but i wonder if you can maybe listen to the studio and live versions in the same video in the future, once so you can appreciate the track's instrumental and lyrics, and once to enjoy their performance and passion, just a suggestion tho you do you!
That’s definitely a good idea! Probably makes most sense that way too 🖤 thank you for watching and thank you for the suggestion!
I appreciate how you looked at this song. I saw it in a different way after hundreds of times so thank you.
Agust D cries. No often but he totally broke down on his Agust D tour during one of his dates. He talks about it after with the fans (online ofc).
The way the song is about the 7 guys hits harder
OMG I love Jonathan Davis too. I love groups like Korn, Linkin Park. SOD, LB and many more, and yes, I'm also a BTS ARMY and JHope is also my favorite rapper of BTS, but I love also to RM and Suga😊., it's just that Hobi is my bias. 💜 Thank you for your reaction. I think you will enjoy J-HOPE AT LOLLAPALOOZA, hope you could react to Hobipalooza soon. 💜 Thank you and BORAHAE 💜 💜
All amazing bands! We are definitely hoping to check out his performance at Lollapalooza:)
My bias is RM beside being the main rapper, composer and songwriter of the group with more than 215 songs credits under his name , he's the reason the CEO of their company decided to form the band becyhe saw how talented he is and wanted to make sure he depute,BTS wouldn't be here without him 💙 he's such a beautiful person inside and out , no one match his lyricism, please react to his solo songs Wildflower, still life ,joke, chande ft wale ,closer 💙💙
I agree you should watch the MAMA 2018 speech, very emotional.
Also RAP = Rhythm And Poetry 💜
Loving your journey into BtS and appreciate your insight. I recommend Suga’s trilogy- Daeshwita, Haegum, and Amygdala- the lyrics are impactful
You just perfectly explained why J-hope is my favorite as well🥹❤
Great reaction. Hope you keep including BTS content. They are quite versatile and full of substance... so worthwhile.

for some "emotional rap" I suggest "First Love" from Suga.
That’s amazing to hear! He is a great performer and musician :) all the best to you 🖤
You earned a sub. One of the best reactions to Outro:Tear, my second most fave of all BTS songs.
JHOPE is definitely your Bias and mine too💜
I really appreciate your reaction. Is great to hear your what you think and feel regarding a song that is personally very dear to me.
It's usually not recommended too much because it's a personal track, but I think you're really invested and have a lot of emotional intelligence so you'll appreciate it 💜
💜💜💜💜💜💜💜 OT7 FOREVER BANGTAN 7 💪💜
I'm just loving your BTS reactions
Thank you! 😊
Really enjoy your takes on these songs. TEAR is one of my favourites and it hits harder as you listen again. Powerful.
Thank you for watching! It really is a heavy tune 🖤
Ok cool!! I seem to get here at the beginning of your reactions! Really excited!!💜💜
Hugs. -2019 Army NY USA💜
Suga said: "the lyrics for Tear were written for the members. When I was writing the melody, at the time, we were deeply contemplating whether we should quit or not. When I played the song for the members we all cried together".
Also RM is saying "Tear" as in crying and Suga as in ripping something apart.
Imajin All The Purple said on 2/25/23
They actually hid a third meaning of tear in the song: Suga says T.E.A.R. which is a coping mechanism for loss:
T - To accept the reality of the loss
E - Experience the pain of the loss
A - Adjust to the new environment without the lost person
R - Reinvest in the new reality
They are lyrical kings indeed! 💜

I REALLY recommend you guys to watch their speech at the 2018 MAMA Award Show when they won Artist Of The Year. They talked about their disbanding in their speech (Jin made it clear). It's very emotional and I think it's good for you guys understand Outro: Tear better. 💜💜💜

Love your commentary to this performance.
Thank you for watching 😊
Another musical style/genre TK add to the BTS list. For more emotions, the vocal line can suck you in either Truth Untold (ballad) or House of Cards (r&Bjazz). Also, magic shop, that one is for Army and is beautiful.
My bias is Jhope, so I am agree with you
Meine too, it's was a really great description about Hobi.
I love the reaction, thank you 💜💜
You’re very welcome! Thank you for watching 🖤
supungo que realmente se aprende algo cada día...
Yes, your feelings were very spot on and intuitive here. I really liked it. 💫 🐈
I do see the comparison to Korn as Rm really spits his feelings out like a perfect storm - Suga incinerates his heart - & J-hope almost feels as if he is about to throw up his torn emotions and his shredded heart right there on stage 'for everyone to see...' It's a very brave performance from all 3 & especially from J-hope who is all feelings here.. ✨
Ps: I think my favorite song from Korn is "Blind." And Mostly for how his emotions run so deeply through the lyrics; As if he is fighting himself, pushing each word out like they are crushed pieces of glass and barbed wire, dragged through his throat, just... One painful syllable at the time. -> It does something to me. 🔥💔
(Anyways. 😇) Rec:
1) "Spring day" from BTS is 💜 but there is One theory that I think you should read a few lines about first..
2) "The last" by AgustD made me actually Cry, first for one emotion, and then for another..
you’re so insightful. thank you for the rection!!
You are very welcome 🖤🖤
