He's a human, not someone for your means of sick worship. yes, tyler is my queen, but that sure as hell doesn't mean I'm going to pull his hair. Don't queens smite for that shit? I think they do. Ugh, I've so had enough of the youtube culture... the fangirl culture all together really. I mean, I love freaking out about things that I like... but when it endangers another damn human being, that's when it's going to far.
I've been cycling through watching all the daily vlogs of the vloggers that I watch and I agree 100%. People keep mobbing them when they're trying to get from one place to another, like completely swarming them and keeping them from moving until security steps in. I understand that they're excited to see him, but they don't seem to realize that there is thousands of them all trying to meet him and only one him. And hair pulling? Really? Why would someone think that's a good way to catch his attention? It makes me so mad.
Literally same. I mean I love tyler, I love troye, I love a LOT of RUclipsrs, but now that audiences are growing I feel like people are becoming more extreme. What happened to a couple years ago when it felt like a tight knit community, instead of a 'fandom'. Makes me want to cry when I hear about people finding RUclipsrs houses and harassing them, and pulling Tyler's hair. They are PEOPLE. Pretty sure you wouldn't appreciate it if someone pulled your hair and disrespected your privacy.
It's kinda that stuff Benjamin Cook was talking about in his Becoming RUclips series, eh? The unrestrained fanaticism that sometimes endangers the lives or at least mental well-being of RUclips celebrities. The good fans I'm sure outnumber the bad behaviour, but it's true - as RUclips is growing and evolving we need to recognize that these people are in fact a type of celebrities and that isn't without its security-related downsides. A few fans are no problem but its when people get in such large crowds, they tend to lose inhibitions and do things they otherwise wouldn't - like pull Tyler's hair. Vidcon does an excellent job but this is why good crowd control is essential. That way, everybody can meet/see the RUclipsrs they admire, but without being a safety hazard to themselves/others in the process.
When everyone is crowding it becomes dangerous. I watch the number of a RUclipsrs subscriber count go up, and theres a person behind every number. When someone has say a million plus subscribers, having all those people in the same place at the same time trying to get to the same person becomes dangerous. People may complain about security or a number limit to a meet greet, but thats something that is vital for both the RUclipsr and the viewers. If everyone would stay calm and keep themselves in check it wouldn't be a problem, but they don't, which makes good crowd control and security a necessity.
