Ainz was initially on guard when the humans were going to summon "The Highest of Angels", because the Top form of Angels were actually strong enough to be dangerous to him, while still weaker than him, they did have a "Type Advantage" against him, which was problematic. But, what the humans actually summoned was just a mid-tier Angel, It just happened to be the "Highest" Angel they were aware of.
Whats not explained in the anime is that he didnt kill those guys. Thy didnt surrender, so he wasnt giving them a quick death as an act of mercy. Just to make sure you also know this isn’t a game anymore he and Nazarick with all its NPC‘s were transported to this New World meaning he is now his in game avatar. By chance, all these countries are fundamentally human, but there are also other more distant nations that are not human, but monsters like dragons. In reality, despite their high numbers, the human species is one of the weakest and is constantly under siege or enslaved by the rest of the world. The nation that cares most about “ensuring the survival of humanity” is the Theocracy and to do so it resorts to means that are quite radical, since if it didn't, humanity would have fallen long ago. It is because the power of the Theocracy arouses fear in other countries that no heteromorphic nation dares to invade human nations. Gazef Stronoff is the best warrior in the kingdom and one of the most honorable characters, but the kingdom he serves has many problems that have weakened it and the safety of the human nations is in danger because of it. The Slane Theocracy had decided to go ahead and bring about the downfall of the Kingdom themselves, before a non-human nation attacked it. So, they can create a new powerful human country or let another absorb it. The problem is that Gazef Stronoff is very strong and absolutely loyal to his king, so the Theocracy knows that they will never get him to defect from the kingdom, that's why they chose to assassinate him first. And in truth they were only able to set up a trap for him because many nobles from the corrupt kingdom conspired to kill him out of jealousy. That reveals to you the degree of corruption that the kingdom has, that they do not mind killing their best captain commander in order to gain a little more politic personal power. In the middle of all this Ainz falls and turns everything upside down as if it were the Adams family. The Sunlight Scripture are an Elite commando of the Slane Theocracy, but they haven't been able to do anything to Ainz and this has revealed a lot about the strength he possesses and the magic system. The Magic of Ygdrassil game has 10 fundamental levels. Normal people can't use magic. The more or less gifted can use 1 or 2d Tier Magic. Great talents can use 3th Tier Magic. Super geniuses and gifted people can do 4 or 5th Tier Magic. Basically, he said this that he was just guild leader who was not fighting in the field and doing table job. Players would know the name of the guild rather than the person who never fought on the feild. Probably many top guilds didn't cared enough to know the name Momonga.
