Sarah love your classes, but I don’t have a real good steady hand, and also coordination with scribes. Can you give me an idea of how to use one. Debbie
What if i cover a cake (first coating before putting fondant ) and put in the fridge How do i stop the icing from bleeding So that i can cover with fondant
When we sell from home..do we need a label of the ingredients that we use to make the cookies and icing? Since it had raw eggs, should that be told to people?
Hey friend! In this case, its best to refer to your state's local cottage food laws or even make a call to your local health department and they can help you find the specific information you need and refer you to the resources that will help you. Sometimes, those cottage food laws can be hard to understand or even find what you need! Best of luck and Happy Baking!
You can use egg whites to make traditional royal icing. I am not sure of the shelve stability of this recipe. I am a little leary of it myself. But, before meringue powder, this is what was used of course along with some cream of tarter to assist in stiffening.
I second that Tracy! I made my first batch with pasteurized egg whites. They were just for my family, so I felt okay about it, but I believe some states have regulations about what ingredients can be in royal icing. I hope that’s helpful!
Oh no! I don’t think I’ve had that happen before, but I’ve heard on Facebook groups about this happening. I’ve fount Wilton meringue powder works really well. I also use tap water (we are lucky to have really good well water) and sams powdered sugar. I hope that’s helpful!

Have you ever used corn syrup? If so how much and when do you add it? Ty
Wonderful, thanks 😊

Do you use pure icing sugar or soft icing sugar that already has cornstarch in it?
Love your videos thank you. How long is the shelf life of meringue powder?
Thank you for watching! I'm not sure about the shelf life, but I know the wilton brand usually has an expiration date ☺
When is the best time to add corn syrup? When you put the powdered sugar in? Or when?
I prefer to add it at the very end for this recipe🥰

How do i stop the icing from bleeding
So that i can cover with fondant
I’m pitiful with cakes! I apologize! My royal icing know how is based on cookies, but that sounds right to me!

😣If we do not have a merengue power?, how can i do it in a natural form?
You can use egg whites to make traditional royal icing. I am not sure of the shelve stability of this recipe. I am a little leary of it myself. But, before meringue powder, this is what was used of course along with some cream of tarter to assist in stiffening.

I've noticed that using meringue powder creates a sort of lemony taste to the icing that I can't mask when trying to add other flavoring to the icing.
Oh no! I don’t think I’ve had that happen before, but I’ve heard on Facebook groups about this happening. I’ve fount Wilton meringue powder works really well. I also use tap water (we are lucky to have really good well water) and sams powdered sugar. I hope that’s helpful!
I agree there is an aftertaste that is unpleasant to me, but the result is great but doesn’t taste good with the meringue powder.
