      Thanks 👍. You're right. Adding pictures to the slides is a good idea. I'm just trying to work out a way to do it that doesn't add too much time to the already long recording period I need to produce these videos.
      Please bear with me. I'll figure it out soon

      Thank you. Yes, a bungalow can be built on half a plot of land, but it'll be smaller than the bungalow in this video

      What if one use steptiles 0.55m roofing sheets will the cost be lower?

    • @africanbuildingcosts
      @africanbuildingcosts  Год назад

      I'm not sure how much 0.55mm roofing sheets cost now, but if they are significantly cheaper than the roofing sheet cost I used in this video - per square meter, yes.
      There are cheaper stone coated roofing sheets (like the ones that are made in China), but I'm not sure how durable they are. You might want to explore them as as an alternative.
      Another thing is; the pitch of this roof is very high. So reducing the height of the roof will automatically reduce the amount of materials needed to build it, and thereby cut down its cost

      Can I build a 4 bedroom bungalow on half plot of land

    Why 😂😭 is that your dollar and euro are the same? Euro is higher than dollars in exchange rate but you peg them same why ? If you change 1000 dollars and 1000 euro they are not same in equivalent , Euro is far higher than dollars please take note

    • @africanbuildingcosts
      @africanbuildingcosts  2 года назад +1

      I use the google search exchange rates.
      The dollar and euro cost the same amount of naira in the google searches I made in preparation for this video.
      I figure it's safer to use the google rate for dollars, pounds and euros in my videos, for this reason;
      google says one naira equals 0.0023 dollars (that's what it says right now. I just checked). But in Nigeria, one naira equals somewhere between 0.0016 and 0.0014 dollars (last I heard)
      So I go with the 1 naira equals 0.0023 dollars value, which implies that 1 dollar costs 435 naira - knowing that anyone who earns a living in dollars, will be able to change their money in Nigeria at a rate where 1 dollar equals somewhere between 600 and 710 naira (last I heard)
      So that ultimately, building in Nigeria will actually end up being cheaper for people who earn in dollars, pounds and euros, than the dollar, pound and euro values I have in my videos, suggest.
      I'm so sorry I've had to edit this more than once. I felt I hadn't made a clear enough explanation earlier.
      Hope this isn't too complex

      @Adeola Super; I know.
      The thing is; exchange rates and building material prices change so frequently, that it's impossible to give an ultra-accurate estimate of the cost of building, down to the last kobo, or cent, or penny - on a daily basis.
      Sometimes, prices change when I'm in the middle of my calculations. If I decide to alter my figures to match every new little fluctuation in the markets, I'll never be able to upload a single video.
      Alas, the best one can achieve in video format, is a relatively close ballpark cost, that is still valid, even after the values of various currencies and the prices of building materials have changed a little. And that is what I have tried to accomplish here.
      If you try to build the house featured in this video, right now, you won't spend too much more or less money than the figures I have quoted for its construction.
      I think that's what's critical here.
