What game needs a port/localization?
There's these yuri VNs/survival games called Jinrui ha minasama he by Nippon icchi software and the sequel that I absolutely want to see localised but I don't think that's ever going to happen TwT
Also a bunch of amazing Visual novels that still are just in japan like Tuskihime, Yoru tomosu and Asatsugutori that's a murder VN in the style of danganronpa. The list goes on tbh
Amazing video btw, I agree with this list, so many amazing games that are just in japan
Bahamut Lagoon, Shining Force 3
@@aaronglazer4173 this. I agree 100%
Bahamut Lagoon. I'm still disappointed that Live a live was localized and it also wasn't.
Tales of Rebirth, Tales of Destiny DC/Tales of Destiny 2 need a combo pack.
倫敦精霊探偵団( London Spirit Detective Agency) this PS1 classic set in a steampunk Victorian London love the all the visuals in this game really holds up well.
The fact someone loves the Seventh Dragon games brings a tear to my eyes. Seventh Dragon III Code VFD was absolutely amazing with music that has a techno style mostly and it's the good kind of techno, and OMG THE SINGING! The singing in the tracks for the boss battles are AMAZING! The mechanics are also pretty easy to understand and get used to. Also the big boom attacks are beautiful.
So happy another passionate fan for the series is watching. I love it so much!
Atelier Rorona had a 3DS port named "New Atelier Rorona" that featured a SRPG grid combat type of system, and a mode named Atelier Astrid that I wish there was more elaboration on
I would really love it if they would bring Dragon Quest X Offline outside of Japan because its basically the same as all the other main line games. All that really needs to be done is translate the game to English and probably some other languages and its good to go for other parts of the world. Even though it has an chibi look doesn't mean it would be bad to play it at all and it shows that all the mainline games are available in all countries where its available physical and digital.
Gat dang, these thumbnails.
He's trying to make them come west
There’s English patches for “Soma Bringer” and the “7th Dragon” games if you emulate. (But just remember, “7th Dragon : Code VFD” was developed by Sega, the other games were developed by ImageEpoch)
I'd pee and cry and faint if we did get the Surge Concerto DX games - make it happen KT!
I'm glad someone other myself is aware of Soma Bringer and Endless Frontier.
Absolutely agree on 7th Dragon. I nabbed a Translated physical copy of the first 7th Dragon on DS, 2020, 2020 2 and have 3 Code VFD. This series deserves a lot more love than it got. Another one I'd love to see is Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 3. We only got the first 2 of the Joker Trilogy and it's bugged me that the finale is only in Japan.
Gosh I need to check out DQ Monsters Joker 3, thanks for putting it on my radar! Happy another 7th Dragon fan is watching!
There is 3 Professional available for DQMJ3 with English patching, been playing the original and professional. It's fun, also pretty hard. Definitely worth checking out to say the least.
7th dragon battle system is amazing, imagine like having buffs that multiple in layers depending of team compositions and on top of that stack with special atacks/ultimate. I think i broke it by almost 1shoting one of last bosses (after a lot of grind and recombinations) but it was just too fun :D
Sailor Moon Another Story needs to have a come back on the Nintendo Switch with English Transportation Support.
Fingers crossed for literally any of these. Great video as always Ren!
Thanks so much!
Dot Hack Link and some of the Digimon RPGs that have fan translations now would at least be great to come over here! 🙏
great list! some of the games i want to see include the 3DS Dragon Quest spinoffs as well as Sol Trigger. Oh and in terms of visual novels, Clock Zero and White Album 2.
Great shoutouts that I need to checkout, thanks for sharing!
I love endless frontier and project x zone. I don't have x zone 2 as the price is skyrocketing and i didn't even know about exceed.... Id love to have it located.
I'm old school so i want bahamut lagoon, treasure of the rudras, terranigma, and far east of Eden localized.
For me it has to Shining Force 3 in its entirety its hurts my soul that we never got part 2 and 3 and I reckon with the love there is out there for SF 1 and 2 if they dropped 3 complete on Switch it would do fantastic.
As well there is an obscure little tactics series called Black/Matrix which has several games none of which have been ever localized, not even by the fan translators.
Personally would like to see the new yo Kai watch on the switch localized since it looks like it’s the spiritual successor of Ni no Kuni 1…
alot of these games were on my radar for sometime that i kinda forgot about them glad to see that im not the only one wanting to see a good amount of these games to come to the west. i was pretty close to get the ceil and ar nosurge games when i was ordering form playasia but had this feeling that they might come to the west possibly .
I know that there's a very good fan translation already and it would be better if it was remade but I really would've loved it if Sega brought Valkyria Chronicles 3 to the west.
12:18 forth actually. The first game was "7th dragon" for the DS.
I think its only called 3 because the last one was 2020-II (and please a 4 pack instead of 3)
Great list! My go-to answer now for a series that I wish so much had more western releases is the Tantei Jinguuji Saburou series, or Jake Hunter Detective Chronicles, its localized title for the 2 mainline entries it had in the west. Great detective adventure games with a noire feel. It's a very long running series in Japan, starting on the Famicom, but it really only had 2 mainline releases over here, one on the DS and one on the 3DS. The series has a style that really clicks with me, and I would love to play more of them.
Dang I've never heard of these, thanks for sharing them!
Cool list, and I'm happy to have the import and fan translation of Namco X Capcom.
So many games I have not played. I played a bit of the 1st 7th Dragon, but didn't get too far before I was distracted by another game. I need to go back to it at some point.
There's so many excellent games I've never even heard of, so fun to find them!
Super Robot Taisen!!! Yes!! Soma Bringer!!! Yes again!! Haha! $400+ for a game in Japan is wild! Absolutely a rare item! It is absolutely a shame that both DraginQuest X offline and DragonQuest XI never made it to our shores! I feel they would have made Square a boatload of money! Really great pics! All is not lost, we already seen an Etrian Odyssey collection so there is hope for more DS and 3DS remasters, so maybe we will see some Japanese only titles make it to the homeland. Thanks so much for the shout out! Always love brainstorming with you brother! Stay awesome!
#HallowedBeThyGamers 🤘
Thanks so much for your help man! You rock and hope is definitely rising for these games but yeah some of them like Metal Max I'm sad will never see the light of the day in the West. Thanks again man and I hope your weekend is excellent!
I'm not too familiar with JRPGs that never got localized in the west but there is 1 (Japan Only) JRPG that did got my interest and thats Klonoa Densetsu No Star Medal, or in English, Klonoa Legendary Star Medal for the GBA.
The trails games are the JRPGS I really wanted to come over, and am very happy its finally happening! Haven't had enough time to figure out what I want to come over next!
Well TBf trails had western releases in the PSP era, it's just the granbell arc that wasn't released in the west
There is a Namco X Capcom fan translation, I played it and it makes more sense how the characters from Project X Zone and Project X Zone 2 know each other because it is a prequel to those games. (I actually liked Namco X Capcom more because it had less unit management than Project X Zone.)
The Super Robot Taisen dualogy has to be by far the most fun RPG games on DS and i have to say in my personal list they rank just outside my top 10 as a whole which says something about them and the second game i played exclusively in Japanese which proved the mettle of how well crafted it actually was. Yes the adventuring side of the game is basic but hot damn the combat system which is like Valkyrie Profile on crack with it's own unique systems just made it an absolute joy to play. Cathartic and rhythmic in such a way that simply makes my head gears (ha, see what i did there?) spin. An absolute pleasure that came out of nowhere.
Super robot would be cool to see. I'd definitely play it.
Other games I want to see fully ported are tales of heart R I have no psp vita so I couldn't play it and it actually looks cool. Same with all the spin off tales of games they are cool from the gameplay I saw being turned based and warriors like
Fire emblem mystery of the emblem and blazing sword. Put them on a bundle port to the switch with all the other games from gba to ds for easy money Nintendo
The project X zone games before it. It looked cool and I'd love to play more of it as X 1 and 2 were a blast.
The fan-translation that I played of Namco X Capcom, the one by TransGen, was just oddly-written and I think the font could have been better. The game itself, of course, is incredibly fun, but I do think the strange writing did limit my enjoyment a little bit. It seems to be fully translated, but it's clear that there were multiple translators and they didn't really try to tie it all together. Better than nothing, but still.
Also Namco x Capcom does have a fan translation. It got one years ago.
Localizations of these games would be soooo nice! ... If we clean house with some of these localization studios first.
I also recently got the Switch port for the first three Dragon Quest games✌
Nice video, 7th Dragon III Code: VFD was awesome I enjoyed that game, I was playing 7th Dragon 2020 or 7th Dragon 2020-II for psp (need to figure it out but that means I missing to play one) but gave up a lil especially as am on Switch Octo 2 but I'll have to get into 2 later on but maybe a port to Switch or sum would be nice. Sol Trigger also an awesome game.
Really appreciate these list plan to play some of these after playing through Dragon Quest 11S, Famicom Detective Agency and Yo-kai Watch Jam in Japanese. Probably Ciel & AR since those look speech heavy. Thanks for the list.
Glad you like them! And great shoutouts!
Still pissed off at Nintendo for not releasing the Famicom Detective Club Remake games physically though 😡
I find it funny sometimes they bring the 2nd or 3rd game in a series to west but not the first one
The long name with supper robots one. I have a english hard copy of that game for 3ds. I got it at an airport in the states
Tales of The World Radiant Mythology 2. We got the first, but the sequel had KOS-MOS gear you could unlock like in Soul Calibur III and I liked the way it looked a lot better, tis a shame.
Yes! Dragon Quest and 7th Dragon games. Oh, How I wish they were ported!
Me too! Would be so awesome 🤩
I want DQ PC ports so bad (and obviously more of the spin offs)
I want the Far East of Eden games
Also never heard of Metal Max but it looks dope.
The problem is, before Nintendo bought Monolith Soft, they made games for Bandai Namco and they've been terrible with Vesperia Definitive for not just completely re-recording Yuri with Grant George and not having an english dub for Baten Kaitos 1 and 2.
Sega 7th Dragon collection I dare you. You made the miracle happen with my Etrian Odyssey series, you can do the same for 7th Dragon.
Those all look interesting and I'd like to play them if they were available to play in English, especially the 7th Dragon games. I'm Still hoping for ports of early SMT games to come to the West some day, I'd really love to be able to get to play the Mega CD version of Shin Megami Tensei because it has the reputation for being the best version and there isn't an English fan translation available for it. There are a lot of Mega Drive, Mega CD, PC Engine, PC Engine Super CD, PC-FX, & Saturn RPGs that would be great to have in English. It would be awesome to have something like a collection of all of the Langrisser games available in English.
Gosh wouldn’t the early SMT games coming west be the best?! I want them so bad, would be a dream come true!
SMT 1, 2 if and Dragon Force 2 are ones that I would like to see an official translation.
Waiting on Valkyria chronicles 2 and 3 to come to switch.
also Dengeki fighting climax ignition that never went west side.
I would like to have Legend of Heroes Trails of Cold Steel 1 and 2 and the PS2 remakes of Phantasy Star 1 and 2 brought to the west for the Switch.
Still pisses me tf off to no end how the Etrian Odyssey collection didn’t get a physical release in the west because I never got them on the 3DS
7th Dragon 100%. Started with the 7th Dragon VFD on on 3DS and had to download Japanese roms and install English dialogue hacks just to play the other games in the series. The art and music for the series is great and I’ve even downloaded their soundtracks.
Happy another fan is watching!
Yes, we had Terranigma in Europe back in the SNES days, but... it's been almost 30 years. Give us a port. A remake. Something!
A list of ancient treasures that yet elude the West 😃💖👍 What an amazing list! Love your videos my friend!
I do hope 7th Dragon and Soma Bringer make it to the newer consoles, possibly in HD2D, which brings out their shine...
One of my 2 games have miraculously made its way to the West last year....LiveALive 💖 Got dangit, it was the Undertale before Undertale 👌 An absolute blast of a game with astounding gameplay variety and a banger soundtrack.....for a game made in the mid 90s 🤯 It lives yet again!!
Another one is the Fuuraiki series of games 😍 Not RPGs, but biy are they beautiful....and mostly about travel and photography. Its a sight to behold!
Here's your nerdy question of da dayyyy!!!
Whats your best victory jingle music in a video game?🎶🎉
Oh my gosh am HD2D of those would be the dream!!! But thanks for sharing some incredible recommendations and requests. And I’d have to say even tho it’s a bit of an obvious answer I gotta give it to the final fantasy victory theme followed by P4G’s victory screen!
@@HallowedBeThyGame Excellent choices! FF & P4G have excellent victory jingles 🎶😃👍
My favorites ones are from Ace Combat X Skies of Deception & Trails of Cold Steel 💖
I played seventh dragon on the DS also lol
Soma Bringer has a fan translation, yeah? Pretty sure I even played it
Valkyria chronicles 3 (has a translation) but a 2 pack bundled with 2
Sometimes i wonder how much creative freedom Monolithsoft really have under Nintendo.
SUPER ROBOT TAISEN LET'S GOOOOOOOOOO
HeeeeeYEEEEEAAAAH!!!!
I may try out Metal Max Reborn. I didn't have the money for it but it is 20 bucks for Reborn.
That’s Xenosaga 1&2 looks pretty good, I’d buy it.
If I had to choose a game to be ported I’d go with Star Ocean Second Evolution remaster, they released it in japan and need to bring it over asap. They gave us First Departure R, and I really need to have the sequel but I want it on Switch though.
Man that would be fantastic! I want a physical of First Departure R on switch too
@@HallowedBeThyGame right there with you brother, I would double dip if it came out physical.
Gimme that Dragon Quest X Offline!
Sega just breaks my heart with how they are just sitting on VC 3 and 7th Dragon and leaving them in the PSP. I already played them via the yohohoing and those are just 2 of the games I'd be legit down for buying for steam.
Ys Memoire: Oath in Felghana for Switch and the Switch version of Tokyo Xanadu Ex+
Gosh I forgot Tokyo Xanadu had a switch port.... gosh yes that needs to happen.
@@HallowedBeThyGame Fan petitioning of XSEED and Aksys to localize these games might work.
Lunar 1 & 2 need a port and or a remake
Holy shit, I remember the time in which Soma Bringer had been announced and everyone in the JRPG sphere was just abuzz with curiosity.
And then... nothing. Nothing happened. And I feel like it was such a SHAME.
As far as gameplay in Ciel Nosurge, it's definitely nothing like Ar Nosurge. Ciel Nosurge is a hybrid Relationship Simulator/Visual novel game, so you might be better off finding someone to translate it to try and get the story. I highly doubt it will ever be localized for the west, just because it would find an even smaller audience than the RPGs in the series
Yeah would love to have Ciel Nosurge over here. I got both on switch and I have to use Google translate. Now if I had a ps3 I can play Ar no surge since I own the NA limited edition which I got for free andnits a super rare game. As for Ar Tonelico I recommend emulating 2 as it's localization by Nis America is broken towards the end of the game but its still a masterpiece in my eyes
Thanks for the recommendation!
Simple answer why: Cost to bring over, translate, ECT VS Profit
Xenosaga 1&2 you mention does not need a remake really, since it was just extra stuff on the original Xenosaga 1&2 just add the story to those remakes.
There are a few more I wish came to the West, but have wanted. Were is Bahuamat Lagoon though.
I think there's a Non-0 chance we might get Remakes, Ports, or Remasters of Xenogears and Xenosaga.
Especially the former given XC3's success and Square's Remake/Remaster spree.
Dude you got huge!
Thank you! The support has been humbling!
@@HallowedBeThyGame glad you're doing the thing :)
I am one of those ravenous 7th Dragon fans, I've endlessly shilled it to my friends over the years.
It’s so friggin good
I couldn’t agree more ❤❤❤❤
Was gonna Say Dungeon Traveler 2-2 but that literally just got announced
Thanks, for making this video. I definitely agree that ciel and ar nosurge should leave Japan for switch. I fear though after almost 2 years of them being out in Japan they will never come. Especially, with Keoi Tecmo lacking interest in bringing games to the west that aren’t atelier, fatal frame, anime tie-ins, and warriors games. Although, perhaps there may be localization issues between NIS America and Koei Tecmo.
Not to mention their laziness in dubbing games lately.
SMT: If would be one I'd love to see.
That would be incredible
Nah, Ciel NoSurge has no real gameplay. It's more like a Tamagochi / virtual GF / VN basically. It has a real time system and stuff. Has to be online at all times forgot why.
7th Dragon is just the best for me and I would never get enough from it. They have an incredible character illustrator (Miwa) and cute 3D models.
Metal Max and DQ looks interesting.
Super Robot Taisen EX tho is my absolute favourite handheld RPG of all times, haha. That's just fun on another level. ^^
That's wild, thanks for sharing that it's like a tamagochi. Crazy
Thumbnail❤
I see nothing wrong here! Awesome list!!
Thanks!
I feel half of these games are too obscure to ever consider official western release, and for others ( like Xenosaga) time is long gone.
Never even heard of metal max, missed out on a gem it seems.
Lol played most of these thx to the magic of patches :P
I agree with 7th dragon as well. Ugh.
I would love to see a remake/brought to the west for soma bringer, archaic sealed heat, ect. Nintendo is sitting on potential goldmine franchises with all their Japan exclusive rpgs.
And it's the same with how Sega and not giving 7th dragon it's proper international release/support
Lol I’m learning Japanese and I guarantee I will be able to speak it at a near perfect level before 5/10 of these come.
what games need a new port? the shin megami tensei games on the psx
no elaboration, they are better ports than the godawful ios version
Yokai Watch 4, and bring all the rest.
Aren't already fan-translated?
Tales of destiny directors cut
Namco x Capcom
Namco x Capcom please.....
Can i say all Ys games that haven't been localized yet? :p
View #667. I needed to make this video "Hallow"
The channel thanks you for your service.
All of the tales games they didnt translate
Glad I'm not a western
Metal Max returns on snes, metal max 2 reloaded on ds and metal max 3 on ds are all fan translated and 4 is being worked on. Not sure why you left 3 out of the video.
Also we only got the 4th entry in 7th dragon. The first was on DS, 7th Dragon. 7th Dragon 2020 and 2020 II are the 2nd and 3rd in the series. All have fan translations.
I'm confused, did you not watch the video? I cover most of the things you're complaining about during the discussion or listed as text prompts on the screen. Getting tilted over nothing.
@@HallowedBeThyGame not sure where you're getting tilted from, but just adding corrections cause i really love those 2 series. And I listened to the video, I didn't really watch it
Maybe say "GOATed" less often.
That’s none of your business.
Tales of Rebirth? Venus and Braves? Come on bro.
bruh
@@HallowedBeThyGame "Don't Bruh" me!
