I once asked my good friend who is a Mormon why they believe in the family unit and she told me coz they believe that we are all one family with a God Father and Goddess Mother or the word they call them Heavenly Father and Heavenly Mother. That was the 1st time I’ve had about that concept

    • @Selene13zz
      @Selene13zz Год назад +9

My family is mormon and, honestly, Heavenly Mother was my saving grace. Their mythos includes her only because they believe the gods are physical beings who ascended from mortals, so you have to have both bi-gendered parents to make new spirits & they get to have their own world to lord over. The concept is cool on the surface but they purposefully obscure what HM is like because they don't want to give any power to her or to women (using the excuse "she's to sacred to mention" which is bullshit). When I left I started reading about all the other goddesses through the ages & other cultures and was blown away with how cool they were, as well as diverse in their aspects. I wish they would teach their kids more about HM and incorporate some of these awesome ideas.

Multiply those numbers by themselves and you still won't get close with the way different people "interpret" the numerous different versions of translations, ect. What we need to do is get the actual original unadulterated truths. Where did everything actually come from? More awareness needs brought towards this issue regardless of what it does to the financial stability of Christianity. Btw, I thought "Jesus" was against profit? YES! Your closing thought about how she isn't in our minds is so important. I am a student of religion and found myself shutting down the draw toward the male form of God and it has been hard - we have been taught to be this way for 2000 years or more! I have struggled with it. I am not a Catholic, but I started repeating the Mary prayer A LOT. Also, I'm a crazy dreamer and learn things in them and had a chat with Mary one night as I went to bed, asking her for a dream. I had a dream! I dreamed of being in a 2 story stone building and it sounded like an ancient giant was coming near and it said one word, "Al-lat". I woke up immediately and looked up the word - it is the female form of God - or Goddess. From wikipedia "Al-Lat was used as a title for the goddess Asherah". Mary was saying, "don't stop here, honey, Goddess has been alive as long as God."
Recently, looking at some Gnostic works I learned of Barbelo - who is said a) to been the first thing and that created god and Jesus or b) an androgynous being who created God and Sophia... Oh, and Al'lat has a lion. 😍
Our world is soooooooo out of balance and the Goddess, no matter what you call her we need to remember Her.
I'm pretty sure Barbelo, Ashera, and Al'lat are the same being - and some say Barbelo is Mary - the mother of Jesus. Also, if you are reading the Bible in Hebrew, the Holy Spirit is feminine.
I'd love to see you delve more into this and talk about that Goddess and get her in our heads and hearts.

Would also have some similarity to the relationship between Zeus and Hera too

If the bible is directly from God it wouldn't surprise me if it had a sort of immune system, editing back and forth until it reaches a general baseline.
Considering the time and jumps between multiple cultures, it hasn't changed all that much.
According to scripture, marriage is the joining of two into one. Originally it's also stated that God was all there was in the beginning - it makes no sense for an already complete and singular God to have had a wife even in that context.
Moreover, it's written that woman was created from man, and man from the clay in God's image. Woman would have also just been made from the clay if God had a spouse.

Imagining if we had a balanced male/female or female/male society for the past 2,000 years is very thought provoking. With women out performing men in college education these days we may see the sacred feminine rise again in society. To have a nurturing society that takes care of its poorest instead of always preparing for war is a world I would like to live in. The idea that a balanced female/male world would reduce wars is worth examining. When men lay dying on a battlefield they often call for their mothers who would do their best not to send their children to war.

Another thing while I'm thinking about it. No one has ever noticed there is always two different "Gods"? First one benovlent, loving, mercyful, caring, wanting to help and teach mankind. Usually associated with water, and creation of life. The second jealous, vengeful, punishing, destructive. Usually associated with the sky, heavens, lightning and thunder. Most of the time they are depicted as brothers or siblings in some way shape or form. Always seems to be two "Gods" of equal importance and power. Enki-Enlil, Poseidon - Zues, Osiris - Set, and in the old testament bible two separate distinct personalities "somehow merged into one God with a split personality" I believe it's the same for the Aztec and Nordic Gods, but don't quote me on that. The God of creation always has a female associated with him, and he always gets into a conflict with the his sibling or an advisory over mankind. It like a repeating theme globally. Tell me no one has ever noticed that? I think it all originates from the same source and got changed and adapted by different cultures. In fact in the book ok Enki there is a part where one of Enki's son's is praised by Anu, Enki and Enlil's father and the other was not. So the son who wasnt praised by Anu kills his brother who was. As punishment he had a mark placed upon his face that he and all his offspring would bare, so everyone would recognize him and then he was banished from the cities. Mentions something about putting him to sleep and Enki doing something to him so that he nor any of his offspring would be able to grow facial hair. This story sound vaguely fimaliar? Cain and Able perhaps? My point is one origin story that has been adapted names changed some things forgotten, omitted, or lost, but their all talking about the same beings and same events. Sure the names where changed to match their cultures, lifestyles etc. but some of the base parts are always the same.

Gnostics use the concept of the Demiurge who is the malevolent, vengeful god of the Old Testament and creator of the material world. Separate from the true God. The Demiurge is the artist...the creative...who created the world. It's also a concept in Platonism. This idea works well with our Universe being a simulation, running on an advanced Quantum computer. Our creator isn't the true God, but certainly has god-like powers who has a game avatar and can break the game physics along with the power to turn off the simulation anytime they want.

The only thing I’m doing is bringing up what the Gnostics and Platonists believed. The idea of the Demiurge as the malevolent creator of the material world and the idea of a true God separate from this answers the question of why is there evil in the world. Another explanation of evil is that this is not the true world but purgatory where evil and suffering is allowed. The question of why evil is allowed is a fundamental argument against a just and loving god or God. The Demiurge is one resolution.
Not so much theology, but I have never been convinced by Thomas Aquinas’s arguments about why evil exists in his magnum opus Summa Theologica. It’s my opinion that the concept of the Demiurge is the most rational and convincing explanation.

But if you believe that God is One with no partners you would see that this was also an innovation. God has no gender. How can something that's basically existence itself have a gender?
People used to compare what they experience and know from their surroundings to try and explain things when they had no answer. That's why they believed that since they called God the Father then it would make sense to give him a concert. These are things that Jewish people try to hide from their past. I’m intrigued by the nature of the ancient texts that show Yahweh and Asherah together. My gradeschool history courses took a deep dive into biblical history, so I’d always known about Asherah poles and the goddess. I’d figured the book of Judges pretty reasonably accounted for any dual-worship-as Johannah says, the Biblical texts describe the Israelites worshipping Canaanite goddesses (though I’ve never heard of David doing so, just his descendants). What doesn’t make sense to me is the fact that any reference to Asherah is left at all: if she was indeed written out by a patriarchal cadre of scribes, why do so many of the books matter-of-factly state that, once again, the Israelites were back at that apostasy and idolatry? Seems more reasonable to think that after having worshipped Yahweh first, the Israelites took to worshipping Asherah too. Nor would the Canaanites disagreed with adopting Yahweh too; they often acknowledge Yahweh’s power and apparently regarded Him as a very powerful local god. So without reviewing the original texts to see where Asherah is chilling with Yahweh, I’ll have to assume it’s conjecture at best.

It seems they believed that by ceasing to worship her, they had come into hard times, but Jeremiah tells them that it is because they worship this false goddess that they are being punished, not the other way around. At least there, the author was not writing the Israelites' goddess out of history - he was actively pointing to her worship as a cause for their downfall.

A good book to read is "When God was a woman" by Merlin Stone It will open your eyes about how the Goddess was erased from history. I'm a Catholic and for me Mary was always a Goddess, honestly she was the only figure that resonated with me. From what I've read and studied she was also said to represent Isis and Osiris. The Romans incorporated aspects of slaves religions so that they would feel more comfortable. Asherah is also hiding in pagan practices. It's believed that the maypole is actually a way to have continued the celebration of Asherah for she was also worshipped as the sacred tree. My studies led me to become an eclectic pagan with a focus on the Goddess (in all her emenations) another interesting Goddess is Neith she is considered the grandmother of the gods she was ancient when Egypt was born there was a temple to her in Sais Egypt where one of the first medical schools was established. This medical school was primarily for women who where the priestesses of Neith. They were the midwives and the doctors of the time. Nieth was downgraded as most goddesses were to the goddess of archery and weaving but she was originally considered the primordial Force from which the world was born and the mother of the Sun God Ra,. the Goddess Tanit is believed to be a syncretization of Neith. Enjoyed your video !!!

You say that "'book' opened your eyes, but if you read and believed the bible, tge holy words of the one true God, you would know that St Paul revealed the truth that ALL pagan gods are DEVILS. Anything to the contrary is a lie from the devil, a heresy. One has to choose and choose wisely. Some people will choose the god of ME, the multitude of demon-gods of the pagans, or the Savior Jesus Christ, His Father, and the Holy Spirit. This video is the work of Ashtoreth and Baal, no doubt. The Mystery of the Masks, a film on RUclips, has the real truth about the pagan demon-goddess which has won so many souls for Satan. She has had many names in many nations. This woman thinks it is great that Ashtoreth had over 400 prophets, but leaves out that all were slaughtered by Elijah, he holy prophet of God. The path is narrow, and only the Wisdom of God can guide anyone to it. The Holy Bible, studied and believed, is the guide for everlasting life. There is but one path to God, through his Son. This is why He said to spread the gospel, to help people like this woman who boasts her knowledge teaches the doctrine of devils in the film. Aaherah is the consort of Baal-Moloch, not Father God, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Jezebel worshipped Ashtoreth and was eventually thrown out a window and eaten by dogs, as God said would happen to the unrepentant murdereress. Still think worship of Ashtoreth will end well? Study the Bible, and you'll see the worship of devils always ends badly, even unto damnation. God help this prophet of Ashtoreth before its too late. Down with pagan demon-gods! @@leonieromanes7265 It is a big subject, but Christianity is not about follow this, go to church, read the bible, but it was to restore everyone back to the Father of us all, it is this re-connection, being born again (the Fathers son or daughter) and having God's Spirit dwelling within is why we spend time alone, talking to the Father, reading through the bible, spending time with others who are living that restored lifestyle of the law of love and its fruits in every situation. It is said that the original construct of all physical existence came from the Father, and gave humanbeings a place to exist and to get to know the Father, this is the story of Adam and Eve (family) walking in the cool of the evening with God. That was the original purpose with the ability to choose. The "beautiful being" in the garden appeared to not be apart of the Fathers will, plan and purpose, and appeared liberated and free to do whatever it pleased and used the opportunity to deceive Eve to use her own judgement "choice" to eat the fruit. The fruit represented self-consciousness, awareness of good and evil, nakedness and desires, desires that were selfish, self-centered, self ambitious. God "the Father" removed Himself from ever walking with humans, as their Father, as a physical representation. Following this is the story of sons of God also breaking away from their original eternal responsibilities to use this physical existence as an opportunity to become fathers of their own, it is because of this we have a break off from the connection to the Father and a whole new reality of what we know of as gods and goddesses, actual physical beings and children of these sons of god. That is our present reality of what we call spiritual, afterlife, and mythology and legends. They were with God in eternity so their representation of a new spiritual reality is very much close to the origin, but the Father is not. Jesus represented the mediator, champion Son who came to represent the Godhead, of what a Son should be on earth and came to restore everyone back to the Father. He also brought the revelation of God as being a family Father Son and Spirit, he did not come as legendary stories would say he would mighty in battle, striking the enemies with godpower, but came lowly, simple, humble, He did not represent the old sons of God who came with their own self-interests, self-ambition, but came to do the Fathers will, purpose and plan, and remained connected, why He is called faithful and true, and why the Father crowned Him with many crowns, because of Him, we all can call the original God "Father" "my Father" I have much more to say but I will end it here, hope you well, blessings and receive the revelations of knowing it deep in your heart.

It makes sense, when you think about it - whether monotheistic, or polytheistic, Judeo-Christian theology is seems to be inherently dualistic. In fact, many other religions also embrace the concept of duality, recognizing that light and dark, feminine and masculine, husband and wife, life and the afterlife, evil and good, etc. I honestly have no idea what the Star of David means, but I’ve always felt the two triangles, with one inverting the other, seems to communicate something about this ancient idea that’s still thriving today - the duality, represented by a triangle that points north, and one that points south. I’m probably wrong, lol, but that’s what I like to think the Star of David means.

I learned about her a long time ago when I was questioning Christainity. I also found several different translation of the Abrahamic Bibles. I always found it interesting when things disapeared from the Christain Bible as their were discussions on the power structure in the Catholic church. I absolutely loved and adored the Christain Mythology being played in Lucifer (The TV show now on Netflix), when gods wife came from her prison in hell to spend time on earth with her 2 sons, Lucifer and Amenadiel. She later reconnected with god and went to form her own universe. I loved that they really did their reserach on the Christian Bibical figures and wrote a compeling story of the a dsyfunctional family with mega powers. Although, I am no longer a Christain, I find the Abrahmic mythology compeling and interesting. BTW, there are many Pagan religions were there were many Gods and Goddesses that were very powerful in their own right. The Christain scholars tried to regulate Goddesses into consorts and not "real" or have power in their own right, that simply isn't true, they were powerful. Many Goddesses had the power of Soverignty, and the Kings of the land would have to bed them in order to maintain their power. If a Goddess rejected the King then he wasn't able to rule, and another would have to take their place. Again, we have many Celtic Pagan Myths because the Christain Monks wrote them down, however, when they wrote them, they bent the myths to a very male centric and mysoginistic lens. For instance, the Goddesss Maeve who was a very powerful Goddess in her own right was killed by a piece of chease. She was also potrayed in a negative light because she was powerful in every since of the word. Goddess weren't all about fertility -- For example Athena was born in full battle armor when she leeped out of Zues head. She was the Goddess of War, but later was given a softer attrbutes like weaving... Mythologies were much more representive of the people that they came from.

I think you are over demonizing the Catholic Church. The Bible shows the leaders of the church in a power struggle all the way from Moses on. The leaders said that the right way is pure monotheism and that you can’t worship any besides Yahweh. The people were livi by in a land where polytheism had already existed for 1000 years and fell back into the traditions of polytheistic worship. The leaders then go on a witch hunt to remove asherah poles and Baal temples and molach statues, and then once they get everyone on board, they conquer (or lose) more land, and then repeat the cycle.
Obviously the Catholic Church did try to squash polytheism in the places they extended to, and I do believe that was partly theological and partly political. But we should be clear in the fact that was not a new practice. Ever since the beginning of the belief that was how it happened.

I adore Asherah. She was the first and ultimate goddess that, from my searching, was the pinnacle goddess that all other goddesses took aspects from. I read that she may have also inspired Isis along with Hathor, and that she might be the initial inspiration for Hekate who was the first goddess in the Greek pantheon but she was the only titan that was left (presumably because they couldn't kill her), and though they relegated her to a goddess of the underworld she was also the goddess of magic and had other softer aspects. Also, with Asherah and her tree of life and the snakes, she may be the original inspiration for the snake in the garden of Eden but it was to warn humanity instead of deceive them. Snakes were always seen as wise and healing. I can't remember where that came from but I think there was an earlier story (Assyrian or Sumerian?) about it before it was co-opted into the Hebrew bible. She is amazing!

But this has been argued and, imo, shown to not be true for her at all because she was a fertility goddess ultimately and there's no reason for her to have that kind of sacrifice. There was sacred prostitution in her temples which were part of sacred rites, but this was taken & used by men not associated with her temples and prostitution was perverted to their desires. This is what initially was condemned by Canaanite authorities & the early followers of Yahweh, which then carried down through Jewish traditions. She was then written out of their scriptures & her powers attributed to Yahweh instead.

the crack in the foundation for me was the commandment "thou shalt have no other god before me". not "I'm the only one", but "I'm the main guy"... the shift to male dominance was perhaps after the fall of the first temple, maybe before, but the advent of Christianity really put it in overdrive. the reasonable assumption of Mary as a woman of means supporting the ragtag group because of a very charismatic (and buddhist leaning) follower, then being subverted by calling her a whore... feels like disciples with insecurities, or some of their scribes having issues and acting them out... but all the major gods of antiquity had partners and pantheons... I like the notion of a goddess far more than a single male persona. clearly male ego inspired... heheh. as an atheist it is properly a projection of political and social ambitions, so a small-dick energy priesthood removing divine feminine... sounds about right... which should have been cause to discount the faith, not women...

The Hebrews used to worship multiple gods. As they progressed to monotheism they made El the chief god and began to denounce all of the other gods they had once worshipped. That is why there was the commandment to only worship one god. Ashera is also mentioned in the Bible although I believe her name was removed in the translated English Bible. There’s a documentary on this but the name escapes me right now. Ah-Cher(like the singer)-Ah is the closest I can write to how the Hebrew historian pronounced it in the documentary.

American Indians as far as I know had divine figures in their community who had gone through the process of divination they were almost if not always male and there was a reason for that of which you and me just don’t know.
Theirs and other cultures around the world would be more than happy to explain why divination would be more of a masculine thing than a feminine thing and its not just men who would explain it to you but the women as well.
Although, because much of the world is modernised and I couldn’t name a single culture that practices divination today I fear that all the people that could explain are now dead.☹️
      None the less;
Modern ethics has no place in ancient practices that modern ethics has also deemed inappropriate for todays society.
If divination was placed upon males in ancient times then people who are live today like me and you are in no place to say things akin to your comment because we just aren’t educated on the subject enough to disagree.

Yahweh was considered one of the 12 sons of el.

      ALLAH.
No prophet adressed their Lord name as Yahweh.
Allah is the original name of One Almighty God which every prophet worshipped and preaced.
Israelites changed this holy name & made it plural form " elohim " for majestic reason.
Then they adapted pagan war god name Yahweh from surrounding pagans.
Yehova ( yhvh) is misreaden latinized word borrowed from Ancient wargod Yahweh ( yhwh).

Jesus prayed to one God during the night of crucifixion?
      If you really follow Jesus,
Why you prayed to triniune God?
It clearly proves that truth isn't with you.
      Just like any other prophet,
      Jesus has God.
That's why, He never told people to worship him instead of His God.
      After Jesus,
Gospel was written in hebrew & greek by mark, Matthew, john, Luke and they added many word from their own.
      For example,
Jesus adressed his God as aramaic word " Rabb" meaning Lord which was written in hebrew " Aabb" meaning Father.
Jesus said him " word of God" which is true.
      In the begginning of Gospel,
John distorted the true meaning of " word of God" and gave his own explanation.
"Word of God" is title of Messiah & it is not relating to the God's everlasting uncreated unchanged entity.
Whereas Gospel writter John introduced the idea of existing 2 god[...... Word with (first) God, Word is( second) God ] in the begginning of Gospel without understanding the meaning of word of God.
Jesus spoke on aramaic where God name is Alaha which is similar to arabic Allah.
Arabs inherited the name of God " Allah " since the period of Prophet Abraham & his son Ismael ( peace be upon on them).
Early zews distorted the holy name of God & made it plural form " elohim ".
Then they borrowed wargod name Yahweh from surrounding pagans.

@@imafackinjunglist You're just wrong. Plenty of cultures had divine figures that were male, female, shifted between them, or didn't have a gender. I don't know where the hell you got your information. Pick up any 7th grade Greek mythology book to prove how many gods and GODDESSES there were. Same with Norse mythology. Hell, Loki is a gender-fluid enigma. He shifted into a mare, female horse, to have some fun with a stallion and then gave birth to Odin's 6-legged horse that pulls his chariot.
So divinity isn't just a strictly masculine thing. And all of your claim started with "As far as I know, American Indians", then gave no actual sources or examples of the lack of women being divine in religions. So I don't know if your definition of divinity is different from everyone else's, but a general rule of thumb is "if it's considered holy in that religion, then it's divine"

I don't understand why you keep insisting Asherah was "redacted" from the bible. She was a canaanite/phoenician goddess that was the consort of EL and the mother of Baal (sometimes also his consort). She is mentioned, or her poles/trees, dozens of times in the Old Testament and is often used as an example of the Israelites worshipping foreign gods and condemnation of the practice. Monotheism was not universal among the Israelites until later and the OT often speaks of them worshipping foreign gods from the surrounding cultures. It's often why they are punished as a people and why many Prophets were sent to condemn the practice. This is all in the Bible.
Just because you are unaware of something doesn't necessarily mean it was hidden from you or "redacted" it might just mean you weren't well versed enough in the subject to know of it. Excellent video though as always.

Actually the name "Ashera" tells a lot about her role in the gods realm. it is pronounced /Asheerah/ in Arabic and it means the companion/life partner and sexual partner. it is also inclusive of good companionship in general. the other meaning of the word Asheerah or Asheerat means intimate or protective tribe or close family. the word "Mo'ashara" with glottal stop between the "O" and "A" means companionship and it specifically means sexual intercourse in some contexts.
The name may be descendant from the older Ashtarte or Ashtaroot from the Canaanite and the Phoenician pantheon, the Akkadian "Ashasdartu", and "Ishtar" the Babylonian goddess who started as the mother goddess of love and war but with time the 'war" part was taken by masculine gods (Babylonian ERRA, Akkadian NERGAL, and Hebrew Yehweh).

Actually, what they believe at the moment happened is a little more complicated. The oldest references they've found to any god whose name remotely resembles Yahweh is from ancient tribal communities who lived in the desert of Saudi Arabia. They were closely related to the people of Canaan & the Mesopotamians seem to have called all these people collectively Habiru as an identifier (likely where the word Hebrew originated from). There is even one Egyptian inscription claiming that Yahweh was the storm god of the Midianites, which would mean he is actually the same deity as Ba'al. Ironically, Ba'al also had a wife referred to as Asherah, which is one of the things biblical scholars refer to to claim that she is entirely unrelated to Yahweh, even though that is obviously incorrect.
Anyway, why she was erased is due to the Babylonian conquest of Israel. Several members of high ranking families were taken as political prisoners to live in Babylon. They were given nice homes & clothes, could own businesses & their children were given educations befitting of Babylonian nobles, they just were under constant guard and were not allowed to leave the city. Later, when the Persians conquered the Babylonians, they allowed these prisoners to go home. While they were there, though, the Israelite & Judeans had always had a belief that giving patronage to one god or another ensured protection & if you ever lost a war, irregardless of how ill conceived or outmatched, it was your fault for not pleasing your god. They only then used that Babylonian education to research to the best of their ability & discovered that almost every god they believed in had mirrors in either Egyptian or Mesopotamian religion (Egyptians had also conquered the region before), but Yahweh, being largely unique and from an illiterate culture the Mesopotamians didn't really pay attention to, or care about, was the only god they believed in that was unlike anyone else's gods, so they decided they had angered him by worshipping other peoples' gods too & erased them all, but him. When they later returned to the Holy Land, they forced this new, monotheistic version of Judaism on their people, using their status. That is why Asherah was erased.
A lot of people don't want to admit that this culture & religion was never static or that the bible is wrong. Sad thing is, if you are familiar with & widely study how Native American religions used to work, you can clearly see that the peoples of that region of the world were much the same. The core of the religion was the same, but one tribe may have had a god another didn't, or they called the same god by different names, despite all aspects & physical representation of the deity being identical, or they picked up different stories they liked from other people's nearby & incorporated those things into their own stories & culture. Knowing that, it really makes the last 1500 years of history even more depressing than it already was.

    • @HAli-jd2ph
      @HAli-jd2ph 2 года назад +3

The Bible is Divinely Inspired according to theologians and not in the full sense Revelation from a Higher Power directly. The mixing of cultures never became fully "un-mixed." Prior to the conquest of the Babylonians the Israelites were quite familiar with the cultures and dieties of the surrounding regions, and living in Babylon only increased their familiarity and acquaintance with the peoples and cultures nearby. After the end of the exile, some "unmixing" or erasure of apparent references were removed, while other influences still lay hidden largely in the background of the Bible, as well as the Babylonian Talmud, Kabalah, and other teachings and texts.
The Bible even from a historical perspective, is quite an interesting book to study and understand. There is much more to it than one would gather from the typical sermon at a Sunday in church.

    • @MrChristianDT
      @MrChristianDT 2 года назад +2

@@emersonblake7 Well, it's very clear I multiple instances that Asherah was considered to be the wife of Yahweh & Yahweh was even part of the Canaanite religion, though not quite the same way that he has been noted as being part of that of the Midianites. That's a new thing that clicked when I heard that side of things. For Midianites & likely other tribal peoples of Saudi Arabia, Yahweh was their name for Ba'al & he was their storm god. Canaanites, before the rise of Israel & Judea, had Ba'al as the storm god, but began including Yahweh as their metallurgy god. Having a metallurgy god at all would have been a newer cultural tradition at the time which had not always been a part of their culture, as their ancestors' didn't always know how to work metal. Then, Asherah is repeatedly known to have been both Baal's wife & Yahweh's wife. They literally just took another name for Ba'al from a neighboring, closely related people & made that their metallurgy god. The same religion as that of Canaan is still being practiced by Israel & Judea unchanged for a long time after that, until the Babylonian invasion. Probably the only reason Yahweh is given any particular importance is that, similarly to the Greeks & Egyptians, who dedicated cities/ settlements to specific gods, they sort of took the same route, but had their entire countries dedicated to Yahweh's protection instead of specific settlements. Both of them.

But even within the last few thousand years, the sexism that exists today is actually a very modern construct. Women were valued and recognized in so many ways.
