I know a lot of people complain that the Voyager hasn’t changed in many years but for what this bike costs new it’s a steal. If Kawasaki starts adding more custom touches to this to compete with Harley, the price will go up. It’s a tried and true bike so why mess with it. This exact bike 2022 in my area is going for $16-17k at a couple of dealers by me. The price on this for a touring bike is incredible. I have been wanting to pull the trigger on one but I want to pay cash and I’m not there yet. I can’t believe these bikes aren’t selling but so many people want Harley’s or Indian. Plus you can’t be the aftermarket for customizing and dealer availability for Harley so I get it. I love all bikes so I always say buy what you like because you are the one paying for it. Awesome bike brother.
Beautiful bike with a reasonable price tag. The Gold Wing is a great bike, but this Kawasaki is $21K in Canada and the Wing is $32K, a huge difference. The air filter is a breeze to change compared to the Wing, and with hydraulic valve adjustment eliminates that big maintenance expense, as checking and adjusting the Wing’s 24 valves won’t be cheap. The latest Wing engine generation should have hydraulic valve self adjusters.
Bought one also, received it in May, really like it myself. Mine has 3,000 kms on it , no complaints, the teale and pearl grow on ya. I installed a K&N air filter on it, and it made quite a difference to the bike . I'm getting 16.5 kms/liter , not bad mileage. The throttle response is better with the new filter. Ride safe and good luck with the new bike. I haven't seen many this color on the road yet.
I'm upgrading from my 2019 Vulcan Classic 900LT. I'm picking up my new 2022 Voyager this week. As you mentioned, the new 2023s are in, so dealers need to get rid of the 2022s! I'm glad everybody gives this bike great reviews, especially since I'm nervous about going to a much bigger bike than I've been used to.
I bought a ‘14 in ‘22, the giddy-up wasn’t there for such a big 1700 CC, 900# bike. I added an Ivan Tune, night and day difference. Ivan’s tube woke this bike up. The bike had flat-spots in the throttle, shifting from 5th to OD required over revving in 5th. He adjusts more aspects from you twisting the throttle to when the fan kicks on/off that you will notice, all for the good. I live in AZ, he programmed the fan to kick on earlier than the factory settings. I love riding my big cruiser.
Gorgeous bike, sorta retro colors. The Ivan's flash supposedly improves gas mileage and throttle response as well as power, from what I've read, so even if you don't need more power. Better gas mileage is always a good thing
Yeah, I got one 2009 plenty of powers I’m not complaining never did the Ivan tune never will I just wished that they would’ve put a drive shaft and reverse Would’ve made it so much easier but it is what it is nice bike dude.
Beatuful machine!! It's a real shame they don't come to Europe.... Reliable, beautiful all the bells ND whistles... That's how a harley should be made... But for me of course, Japanese.. Sorry but as I ride very much my bikes, I want to be down the road, not down the mechanic' s... Enjoy it!
Looks great in that color combination. Congratulations on your new bike. I’m considering buying the Vaquero but wondering how the power is on these 1700 engines.
I have no issues with the power, people who have rode other bikes with 1700 engines or similar say they definitely feel as if this one is underpowered from the factory. They do Ivan's tuning on the ecu and say it completely wakes the bike up like it should be!
I really want to get one of these but not sure if I can handle a heavy bike. Mostly been riding a Royal Enfield 350, and a rebel 500. All light bikes. Maybe it will be easy but just low on confidence with heavy bikes.
I went from a 1989 Yamaha maxim 650 to this. It is an adjustment! BUT it is very doable. I recommend watching this guys channel for the nervousness. I was extremely terrifed at first but now its like i don't know any different. Just have to practice! youtube.com/@BeTheBossOfYourMotorcycle
I'm sure your wife loves those little girl colors . . . Lol I kid I kid. Love it! I was going to buy a turquoise/white pearl Harley and someone said that. I don't think so. I think it looks awesome 😎 and for the price its even more AWESOME 😎
That speedometer looks like my Dad’s ‘59 Chevy Impala - I love it! And it requires a key, THANK GOD! This keyless nonsense is for the birds. Good luck trying to start my 2012 Electra Glide without the key fob. What a joke! I like the bike’s ‘roundedness.’ Phenomenal value compared to other big bikes. Sat on a new one for the first time today - verrrry comfortable. Maybe I’ll stop drooling over the Road Glide Ultra finally..
In case you didn't know, the key can be removed once the bike has been started. I like this feature because other keys won't scrape the surface like they did on my Vulcan Classic
That will vary depending on how many miles you put on. For me it's not very much! I had to do the initial 600 mile maintenance ($160.00) and then buy a battery tender ($50.00). After that it's your general maintenance, i.e. oil changes, tires, brakes. So for me I may only spend a couple hundred dollars a year, if that, in maintenance. But if you put on lots of miles that can be higher.
I have a 2007 Kawasaki Vulcan Classic 1500. The maintenance is super cheap. Oil and filter changes are super easy as is the shaft drive oil change. Haven't had to do any major maintenance at all and I bought this new as a left over in 2009. The Voyager could be added to my garage as the old vulcan while still pristine is an old girl.
The stereo I did notice seems quiet to me. Going down the road at 65, in a full face helmet, I have to have it at max volume to be able to slightly hear the music. I wouldn't imagine changing out the speakers for some higher quality would be terribly difficult. As far as the weight I don't really notice anything weird or off balance. I went from a Maxim 650 to this and this feels more balanced to me.
I'm 5'9 about 185 and was curious on your height to see about feet reaching the ground? My last bike was a Sportster 883 so this would be a big increase in power. And it will be a large handling increase as well. Thanks!
I'm 5'9" and 205 lbs. My feet are completely flat footed on both sides when upright. I recommend watching the attached channel for practicing slow speed riding! The guy is a pro, I am nowhere close to his level but I practice his stuff and my confidence is so much greater now! I am not affiliated with him in anyway but his videos have helped me tremendously! youtube.com/@BeTheBossOfYourMotorcycle
@@elitepatrol3256 I ride a ‘14 Kawasaki Voyager and a ‘16 Yamaha Super Tenere, same height as you and I’m on my tippy toes, no flat-footing on either bike.
I'm looking to purchase one of these bikes this week. Found a 2020 Model with only 450 miles on it. But my biggest fear is buying a 900 pound bike with 70 horsepower? That seems absolutely crazy to me. My last 3 bikes weighed in around 550 pounds and all 3 had 140 hp plus. I feel like I am going to have buyer's remorse. I would think this bike feels like driving a moped around since it has the equivalent horsepower of a 300-400cc bike. I don't understand why they wouldn't at least make this bike 100 hp minimal (120hp would be better). I saw a post buy a guy that said a kid with a 300cc Yamaha beat him in a race, that is CRAZY. My speed demon days are over, but when you need to quickly pass someone for safety, I don't want to end up dead on the roadway.
If you have the ability to or if it's an option I would recommend trying to ride on one before you buy. If you have to make a road trip I'd call the dealer before going but I think a road trip and the cost of gas would be worth making sure you don't end up hating the bike.
I fit two full size modular face helmets in the trunk. Easily fits one with room to spare. One was a large and one was a medium. They wouldn't fit in the saddle bags though.
I'm going to try! Is there something specific your wanting to see or addressed? I currently don't have a Go-Pro or a system to allow me to film while riding.
I still love mine after 46,000 miles and 13 years its been awesome

You may be surprised how many HD parts and accessory's will work on the bike.

Ivan's ECU Flash?
I plan to do the Ivan's tuning and maybe an air filter or something! Ride safe!

Absolutely GORGEOUS!!!! I really want one of these. Be safe!!

Very nice bike, I have an 07 and it's still a great and fun bike to ride so I know your super happy with your new bike 👍🏽

I wanted to get a 2023 Voyager but they were sold out in BC and Alberta. Ordered a 2024. That's a beautiful bike.
You won't be disappointed!
Congratulations on your purchase. She is gorgeous!
Thank you!
Landscape mode dude

Great bike. Mine is a 07, looks the same….88k amd still simply touch the key and off she goes.
Lovely paint job.
I love it !
I agree, Kawasaki (and Yamaha) are the best. I'll never own another Harley.
I love that paint. Been shopping for touring cruisers (other than HD). This is one of my favorites.
You won't be disappointed! The 2023 models are coming out so you may be able to a great deal on a 22'!
I watched this again. Can you make a video about the brake in process?
Cheers from Mexico

Lots of power, I ride mine with a 103 Harley Road Glide. You give it and she goes. Can't do any flashing on ECU, will void warranty..

How's the stereo quality? I currently have a 2019 Vulcan Classic LT but need/want something bigger. Read online that the Voyager is very top heavy.
On mine I don't really notice it. I graduated from the Kawasaki Vulcan 1500

Nice bike, that particular color isn't for me though.
Wow, it looks exactly like mine....same body, same gauges, same seats, same accessories, same engine, same radio.....except mine is a 2009
Ha ha! Looks like mine too. I wish they’d do a style change and with colors more like the Vaquero.
Beautiful
