cool video.. but i have to say, i wish they had played these concerts during the 70's.. that 80's sound kind of ruins it for me.. the 60's and 70's arrangements were far superior... still, it's great to see milton playing this classic together with the great wayne shorter
1976 record is more jazzy and I understand what you are saying, but i loooove this arrangement, because i do think that it conveys much better the meaning of the lyrics, the hope of a new man, a wiser man, after going through difficult times. 1976 record is sober and sophisticated, but do not give me a tenth of the emotion i feel hearing this piece. The "visceral" choice (someone could see that as corny) is appropriate for me. Btw, I am brazilian, so lyrics are important for me in this discussion.
