3rd dice exert is so much worse than heavy sleeper. You had 0 deaths up until fight 20 so you had a negative on every turn of every fight when heavy sleeper would have never been an impact
So with every 3rd exert you are down a character of your choice every turn after the first turn. It also locks you out of cantrip, rampage, rescue, double use, quad use, and prob some more keywords. Yeah this curse is terrible.
Oof, this was a tough one. You had some great item synergies going, but the agent pick sealed the deal on this one, I think. The fencer pick was not great, and I think randoming there was the best pick. Worst comes to worst, you could put the inner strength to remove the mandatory from Roulette, but then again she also has cantrips that tank your rolls... All in all, I look forward to some more cooky builds now that you've hit a streak reset. :D
Big chances for herbalist, red like slower gameplay anyway and seer is also and out. Magical lategame seems unbeatable where stone first comes into horror territory on other comps

Realistically all 8 options were terrible, heavy sleeper is not bad until you run into a death spiral, would still pick it over 3rd exert though

How about saving wraith at the end? With a cantrip dodge, you could potentially last a lot longer
i think heavy sleeper is fine, but even if you're scared of it i think hp 1^4 is a totally playable cures compared to 3rd exert
