My 2 cents regarding the reformulation: Can you detect any differences when smelt next to each other? Yes Will other people notice the differences in the air? Most likely not. Any differences in performance? Just slightly on my skin. Like 30-50min less. Is it worth spending big bucks on the older formulations? To me, no.
I got 200ml will spay 5 times around neck and 4 times on top and will say I can still smell it around me after 8 hours and still been on my top next morning like faint skin scent. Paid £88 for 200ml worth it still
That background music is super distracting ....the reason is because it has a syncopated rythmic beat that draws you into to listening to it whilst trying to listen to you ....otherwise not a bad video
I think there's a certain temperature/season at which it performs really well, around autumn. Works really well for me then, but it's horrible in both the heat and the cold.
I have 2019/11 200ml edt vapor spray and it smells perfect! It also last 8+ hours on me.. I sprayed on both of my arm to test the longevity of it.. the whole day when I was at work I can sniff the smell from it coming up to my nose til I came home and took the shower.. after the shower I can still smell it lightly if I sniff on my arms closely.. thank you
i have one produced in 2009 and one in 2012. i can tell the difference. the 2012 one is more herbal and fresher while the 2009 one is sweeter and deeper. they have the same scent but i think the base notes are stronger in the original batch. i like them both. i wear the 2012 one in the summer and the 2009 one in the fall. one of my top frags marketed to men. cheers.
idk how well known this is but i think this is important news to share: so first of all in terms of reformulations of la nuit there have only been 2 in the past years... you will hear people talk about wether there have been further reformulations around 2018 or 2020 and so on but if you look at the actual formula code (back of the box after the ingredients list) you can see that the orignal formula code is 8YB02-1, the 1st reformulation (~2012) is 8YB02-2 and then the 2nd reformulation (~2015) is C167049/1 and all the batches until now have had the same formula code, so the same juice (my 2020 bottle included e.g.)... you will see differences in colouration but that's mostly effects of maceration i believe... however, i recently purchased a new 2022 bottle and upon spraying it i thought i got a fake, it was that different... lo and behold when i looked on the back of the box there was a new formula code "N70011799/1"... so apparently there has been another reformulation recently, idk when exactly... if you wanna talk about bad reformulation this is it imo... this is truly a watered down la nuit, the previous batches since 2015 seem amazing compared to these newer ones... pick up any leftover bottles from previous years (C167049/1) while you have the chance guys...
I just bought this frag as a blind buy, i'm new to the scent scene. I have an April 2019 batch. First off this scent is amazing and totally happy with it, as for performance i think it projects for like 1-2 hours on my skin but i couldn't really smell it myself until i went outside then i started getting whiffs of it when the wind was blowing it around. At the time of writing this comment i've had it on my skin for 4 hours and can still smell it on my skin so i think the performance is in line with what you've experienced and i think is definitely a scent you must at least try.
My understanding is that 2019 has been a good year for it. I have a 2016 batch which lasts about 3 or 4 hours. I have a 2018 bottle which is better. I love Le Parfum also !!
I remember smelling this for the first time and I remember being blown away. After getting into fragrances for a couple years, going back to it, it still smells good. I remember it being more spicy, but now when I smell it it smells more sweet. Could this be from it sitting on the shelf for over a year?
My bottle is from 2012 and it lasts at least 10+ hours. One thing I noticed for sure is that the color of the older juice is much darker, and the newer bottles have clear juice. A side from that my bottle is all that i've smelled.
This was the first fragrance that really hooked me, and I recently had the great fortune of picking up a 2012 bottle. I still love it, but there's many more that I also love now, so this will definitely be the last bottle of it that I buy. Still an all time favorite of mine though, so I'll enjoy it while it lasts.
Nice thoughts on this fragrance. Have the current formulation and never have I ever been given a bad compliment for wearing it from anyone who's willing to give me one. Formulation comparison aside, to me, it's still a lot better and unique compared to some of the flankers of that line or even others scents in general. Haven't smelled Le Parfum yet, so I'll need to add that to my decant list. Cheers.
Bought John Varvados John Varvados as my first ever cologne back in college. Lovely scent, doesnt last super long. Never wore it much. Fast forward about 5 years and I'm getting into fragrance. After researching a lot and testing various scents in department stores that I recognized from online reviews, i cane across this one and it blew me away. Absolutely stunning fragrance. That was 1 month ago. I picked up Cedrat Boise since then to use in more day to day situations as YSL LNDL is definitely not something I'd want to wear in casual settings. I also have Zaharoff Signature Royale coming in the mail.
Watching in 2023 to see if it is still good? Lol.. My opinion, yes, it's still worth it. My 2018 batch is still very alive and kicking. Especially off the nozzle. Still love that scent.
Y Collection was a stroke of brilliance by Zara. Closer to Frozen Cologne IMO, but a great clove iteration to layer with. No issues with my 2015 bottle of LNDL, but I can't wait for L'homme Tuba edition. Full of hauntingly deep, rich notes. Irresistible.
I just received a brand new La Nuit de L'homme 60ml. The smell does fade gradually over time, however I believe there still is decent longevity; After applying a single spray to the back of my hand I can still smell the scent 10 hours later. Projection is good, not great, but perhaps applying an extra spray could compensate whilst not being too over-bearing. . The scent is dark, subtle, mysterious. Definitely intoxicating. To be used for intimate evenings and romantic encounters. I would rate this a 9 out of 10.
George took a year or two off from the RUclips game... little did we know that he's been recording amazing videos for that entire time so that he could gobsmack us with daily videos for a duration that's still yet undetermined.
I still absolutely love it, my bottle is a year old, two hours max on the skin, the parfum stays on for about six to eight. I'll try it in Debenhams today.

Many, many thanks, I hope I get an answer from you. or someone who bought the same .. Ciao from Germany
oh man this one i really like...wore it to work as a test and it performed very well from 6 am all the way thru till 5 pm. skin scent but i could still smell it here and there...like many of you i also heard all the noise about performance issues and now i can rest assured that there isn't any issues with my 2018 batch hopefully on yours as well. I have Salvatore Ferragamo's 'F Black', which smells extremely similar to La Nuit de L' Homme and performs far better and lasts at least 10-12+ hours easily and several days to weeks on clothing and fabrics. I also have Halloween Man Shot, which has similar DNA to La Nuit de L' Homme and also lasts a full 8+ hours with moderate projection. The latest 2018 and 2019 batches of La Nuit de L' Homme in my testings open very strongly and project massively for the first hour or two and smell absolutely amazing. But they become a skin scent after two hours and die down dramatically fast afterwards. The scent is completely gone within four hours unless you spritz at least ten or more sprays and apply over clothing. It still smells amazing, but performance is lacking for the price. Ferragamo's 'F black' is far cheaper with very similar DNA and lasts at least twice as long. 'La Nuit' was great when it was launched, but YSL's constant reformulations and watering down the scent has destroyed it's legacy. All they had to do was create a EDP or Parfum strength version of the exact same original scent with better projection and at least 12+ hours of longevity and they would have had a masterpiece. They should take some lessons from Dior with 'Sauvage' and also Giorgio Armani with their new Profumo and Absolu lines, which are flying off the shelves everywhere.
Belated praise for this excellent, comprehensive treatment on the topic of Jeremy's love. Smelled La Nuit at a department store long ago but post reform after reading or watching a negative, Pepsi-Cola comparison imbued review & never purchased (except for beast clone with less opening zing). No denying the ladies love the stuff. Good show and thanks for below corroborated info regarding performance.
My bottle is a 2018 and it performs similarly to D&G the one edp which is to say 4 to 6 hours of mostly skin scent. It's nice but a little plain for my tastes. Nice video.
@@danspanos I don't have particularly dry skin and I usually fall within the averages on longevity. I think this one in particular doesn't do well with me. All the spiciness disappears quickly and I'm left with a faint powdery lavender. No biggie it's not like there aren't a million other options.
It doesn't seem to be going away. It has a cult following as Dior Homme or maybe even Aventus has. Bleu Electrique also injected life into this one, throughout the frag comm.
what do you think about the new EDP? I honestly wasn't a very big fan of the original fragrance, but tested the EDP and really liked it, also the performance is a lot better than the EDT, and well.. quite completely different fragrance. Weird that no one reviewed it yet on youtube
I brought a bottle recently. Sadly I'm sending it back. Smells great. Unfortunately the longevity and projection is a frigging joke. I could go like 8 sprays and it would be gone by the time I make it to work. Yeah that's about 30 mins
@@TheFragranceApprentice I'm just giving my personal experience with the fragrance. Just like Jazz Club. Smells incredible. The performance is a joke. Almost thought Maison margiela is trolling us.
In Australia, ChemistWarehouse is selling this batch for 130$/200ml. I am running out of my 2013 bottle so considering buying this but my friends told me I should buy parfum version which is very expensive. What do I do now?
The people complaining about it not performing realistically are just going noise blind to it. When you’re cooking something like fish the smell is far less intense after 30min would you say the fish is underperforming? No your noise naturally disregards it after a while since your sense of smell is mainly to protect you from danger. Realistically you’ll get good performance if you spray on moisturised skin.
What is the difference between the eau de toilette and le parfum? I believe I owned "le parfum" many many years ago. Also, has le parfum been reformulated like the eau de toilette? I recently wanted to buy one bottle but since all I see/hear people talk about is the eau de toilette, I wonder how different it is from le parfum and so now I don't know which one to get. Edit: I got to the latter part of the video and heard you talk a little bit about le parfum, but still I wonder what the difference is, I always thought the eau de parfum versions were just longer lasting versions of the eau de toilette versions (I am an unknown in the fragrance world).
Good video, but I'm going to argue this fragrance is still very relevant... IMO this fragrance has a purpose/function, you don't wear this casually, you don't wear this to the office, you wear this when you want that women to smell something sensual, memorable, and that makes a mark, even in 2019 no fragrance does that like La Nuit, I have some other ones that get lots of compliments from women, but they don't have the same impact as La Nuit.
Couldn't agree with you more. If I'm going out on a date, I'm wearing my 2009 La Nuit De L'Homme or Amouage Reflection Man. Either way, I'm gonna be making sexy time. LOL
I have the 2009 (9CAA batch, 8YB02-1 formula), 2013 (62K101 batch, 8YB02-2 formula), and 2017 (62P302 batch, C167049/1 formula). You can definitely tell the difference between the three. The second formula is watered down compared to the first, and the third formula is watered down compared to the second. Comparing the first to the third is like night and day. The first formula is a projection BEAST, like 4-5 hours. No need to put your arm up to your nose, you can smell it wafting in your face for hours upon hours. Longevity, 12-14 hours. No need to reapply. Spray it once on your neck, once on each wrist, and you're good to go for the day. I also have the Le Parfum version. It's actually closer to the original formulation than the most recent, only spicier. Impatiently awaiting on my 2019 Eau De Parfum bottle to arrive next week.
Michael Sparks hi did u get a chance to compare the 2019 version to the previous ones? If so how is its performance in comparison? I was considering to buy this but if Performance is so bad then I wouldnt.
@@elysiumf1634 honestly, I still haven't received it. It's been "out for delivery" since Dec 24 and I'm a bit upset about it. I emailed the fragrance company that I ordered it from yesterday. Still awaiting a reply. I'll get back to you once I've received it and tried it.
@@elysiumf1634 sssooooo, now, apparently there's an "investigation" going on with my order. I won't say WHO I ordered it from, all I'll say is that it's a very prestigious perfume distributor in Spain. And thank God I chose them to purchase from, because they've been VERY accommodating with keeping me updated, and launching an investigation into my item's whereabouts. Of course, none of that makes me feel any better about my purchase, and it not being here on Dec 20 like it was supposed to be. It was a Christmas present to my son who LOVES YSL LNDL. Sssooooo, still awaiting
Michael Sparks sorry to hear that sounds like a mess. I just bought versace dylan blue now but id still be interested to hear about what you think about the new LNDL when it does arrive one day 👍🏿
I don't have performance issues with it. It's the fragrance that caught me in the rabbit hole, but as deep as I go, I fall out of love with La Nuit more and more...
I have a 40 ml 2009 batch that I found discounted at Douglas a couple of summers ago. Your opinion has given me a sigh of relief... Haven’t smelled the more recent formulations but I think this will remain among my favorite fragrances for as long as I live!
I’m on my 4th bottle of this since 2011 and have had no issues. Still an absolute joy on spring/summer’s day. Gets more compliments than any other in my collection
Due to Jeremy Fragrance, this became a legendary fragrance, so it is evident the price won’t go down on this. Will it be still relevant in 2021? Who cares? I still like the very first Versace which was released in 1986 or so. You actually like a fragrance or you don’t, no matter it’s age
Jeremy has nothing to do with it. La Nuit has been praised since beginning of the fragrance community days. La Nuit was always a top 3 back in the day even top 1 to most people/reviewers at that time (which was before the reformulation).
I need a compliment getting fragrence for daytime/work. I have the Le Parfum of this, and was wondering if its worth getting this edt verison, 1 million Lucky, or Armani Stronger with you. I recently smelt terre d hermes and fell in love but I was told by my family it smells like bug spray... so on i search :( but at least i know vetiver is my thing
I have 2 bottles 2012 batches and I had one 2014 batch both the 2012 batches are slightly spicier and my 2014 batch was sweeter and less spicier both my 2012 batches the cap is heavier then my 2014 batch has a light weight cap other reviewers talked about the cap weights from the older batches compared to the new batches I sold my 2014 batch newer reformulations are creamier and sweeter and dont last as long both my 2012 batches I get 8-- 10 hours longevity
great video! I never bothered to buy La Nuit OG however I do own Eau Electrique, Le Parfum (black one) and Frozen Cologne. I love all 3 flankers but Le Parfum is simply amazing so we can agree to that
I liked La Nuit but purcahsed L'Homme first because me and the gal liked it better. We now prefer La Nuit, but it never was one of my top tier scents...and never a compliment. It's just a bit too smooth, soft and metro for my tastes. Enjoy these episodes.
Could you talk abt other reformulations also ? Armani code profumo 2019 is still good ? And what abt versace eros , please make a video talking abt fragrances reformulations .
Well thankyou , I agree le parfum black bottle is way better. Yes darker richer and I get compliments from it. When I wear it I disappear into tasty gorgeous place and just want to smell Myself all night. 2019 parfum on way from France. Can’t wait to get it. Oh and if what’s his face spins round anymore he’s gonna turn into WW
Just bought the EDT 2 days ago. The perfomance is a joke. It lasts 3 hours maybe 4 but than its gone. The smell is still absolutely fucking great. Sad it doesn’t last really long.
One of the frgrances that have been absolutely destroyed by reformulations. Performance reduced to zero. That price tag is not serious for a fragrance like this
Longevity sucks on this. 4 hours max on clothes or skin. Projection is alright for the first 30-60 minutes. Then it's a piddly skin scent. Smell is phenomenal...but it doesn't last.
I've never understood the hype on this fragrance, but of course I've never owned it to give it a proper try on skin. Reformulation talk has scared me away as well as high price even with discounter gray market pricing. I really like your fair and well thought out review/opinions on this fragrance. I feel I'd be happier just getting the original L'homme or Ultime or maybe L'homme Intense for that more robust added leather note. Curious if you will also talk about the new La Nuit EDP as Fragmental has done. Thanks for what you do for us viewers and fragrance lovers.
You said it is the same as 2009 release as you smelled in many yrs ago. You didnt compare it side by side. So you review is......😔 i know as i have the few old batch and the new batch.
Get yourself a good vitamin D supplement, also K, they work great together as a duo and your body will thank you for it. Or just eat eggs, kale, avocados and spinach. Drink milk and almond milk. Tell you what I sniffed today, Boss bottled absolute and the scent absolute...bugger me. Lol I will leave it there.
I think there is a 10, 15 or maybe 20 percent difference. For me the underhanded play and stellar ch men prive led me to sell and walk away from ysl la nuit de lomme
My 2 cents regarding the reformulation:
Can you detect any differences when smelt next to each other? Yes
Will other people notice the differences in the air? Most likely not.
Any differences in performance? Just slightly on my skin. Like 30-50min less.
Is it worth spending big bucks on the older formulations? To me, no.

I searched the batch code on my 200ml bottle to find it to be a 2014 batch. Still have 150ml+. I'm good.
Thanks!
It doesn't seem to be going away. It has a cult following as Dior Homme or maybe even Aventus has. Bleu Electrique also injected life into this one, throughout the frag comm.
I got the new version and i sprayed it. It lasted all night my gf loved it as well.
what do you think about the new EDP? I honestly wasn't a very big fan of the original fragrance, but tested the EDP and really liked it, also the performance is a lot better than the EDT, and well.. quite completely different fragrance. Weird that no one reviewed it yet on youtube
I brought a bottle recently. Sadly I'm sending it back. Smells great. Unfortunately the longevity and projection is a frigging joke. I could go like 8 sprays and it would be gone by the time I make it to work. Yeah that's about 30 mins
Admittedly, I laughed out loud at this.
@@TheFragranceApprentice I'm just giving my personal experience with the fragrance. Just like Jazz Club. Smells incredible. The performance is a joke. Almost thought Maison margiela is trolling us.
Same as mine.
Like 14 sprays and it’s shit.
Like lolly water
In Australia, ChemistWarehouse is selling this batch for 130$/200ml. I am running out of my 2013 bottle so considering buying this but my friends told me I should buy parfum version which is very expensive. What do I do now?
The music is disturbing. I didn't understand what you said
I like the music just need it slightly quieter
LOL
I know you recorded this back in the Day George, but that backing track is annoying 😂 your film making skills have improved over the years 😎
I have the 2009 (9CAA batch, 8YB02-1 formula), 2013 (62K101 batch, 8YB02-2 formula), and 2017 (62P302 batch, C167049/1 formula).
Michael Sparks damn that sucks...alright id love to hear your feedback
I just bought versace dylan blue now but id still be interested to hear about what you think about the new LNDL when it does arrive one day 👍🏿
I have three tester bottles of 2013 january batch..Is these goods?
I don't have performance issues with it. It's the fragrance that caught me in the rabbit hole, but as deep as I go, I fall out of love with La Nuit more and more...
Love my 2015 bottle . Great performance still
I have a 40 ml 2009 batch that I found discounted at Douglas a couple of summers ago.
I think a La Nuit de L'homme vs JPG Le Beau vs Armani Code (which ever flanker) would be a cool battle. Who is the date night king
This is clearly the best fragrance channel of all time.
I recently smelt terre d hermes and fell in love but I was told by my family it smells like bug spray... so on i search :( but at least i know vetiver is my thing
teeandmack just buy what you like. Honestly compliments come a lot easier if you’re attractive and approachable.
I get about 2 h out of it, after 3h it's basically skin smell. This is AFTER overspraying. If I just applied 3-5 sprays, you'd hardly smell it.
What's ur Instagram ID? Pls. Share... Need to discuss about it.
great video! I never bothered to buy La Nuit OG however I do own Eau Electrique, Le Parfum (black one) and Frozen Cologne. I love all 3 flankers but Le Parfum is simply amazing so we can agree to that
I love your videos but before watching of course it is 😂 this one never gonna be bad its a masterpiece
I liked La Nuit but purcahsed L'Homme first because me and the gal liked it better. We now prefer La Nuit, but it never was one of my top tier scents...and never a compliment. It's just a bit too smooth, soft and metro for my tastes. Enjoy these episodes.
Nice tune in the background
You know the batch codes can be checked online right? 😆
If god was a fregrance.... his name would be
LA NUIT DE L,HOMME
Tbh EDP is overhyped the original EDT is way better. My wife thinks that the EDP smells like a dusty floraly leather
Could you talk abt other reformulations also ? Armani code profumo 2019 is still good ? And what abt versace eros , please make a video talking abt fragrances reformulations .
Personally I prefer the Intense version, still haven't smelled the new EDP though
What's the exact batch code of your bottle?
No not at all women nowadays seem to think its old Manish. And I tend to agree.
Well thankyou , I agree le parfum black bottle is way better. Yes darker richer and I get compliments from it. When I wear it I disappear into tasty gorgeous place and just want to smell
Myself all night.
That price tag is not serious for a fragrance like this
Mate I don't get it?! I get good performance WTF is going on?!
@@TheFragranceApprentice 🤣🤣🤣 Did you buy the only bottle with good performance?.... Never like la nuit but cool video.
Sweaty guy is more prone to performance issue.
2018 and 2019 is same or ????
Please do a review on YSL La Nuit de L'Homme EDP !!
I bought a bottle a month ago
I think it’s fine ,
My favourite fragrance. I love it.
Add links on where to buy what you're reviewing.
Will start doing that!
IDK if i'm crazy but the scent seems very feminine to me. IDK why. I think cause of the powdery scent to it is very feminine to me
Pride909 its the best scent ever
Drop that background music please...
Fraid not! it's catchy.
Sound like some ol skool porn music
Get yourself a good vitamin D supplement, also K, they work great together as a duo and your body will thank you for it. Or just eat eggs, kale, avocados and spinach. Drink milk and almond milk. So yeah, HN! I remember that day in Manchester, do you? A very shy and easily intimidated boy but very polite and professional.
Love the series
Just bought mine a couple days ago... I can’t smell anything but grassy smell on the opening and then I have to put my nose onto my skin to smell it
It's too sweet... For me and even for my mother.
L’homme saxophone is by far the better flanker, IMO
I have a 2017 bottle and also never understood the reformulation hysteria. It performs well for me.
Stopped watching @ 2:16 because of the bloody music.
This music in the backround ist just so nice hahaha
Mmm I think this won’t be the last we here on this topic 🤔🤔🤔
I've tested Le Parfum, not interesting at all
It’s a wonderful smell that lasts 30 minutes - that’s it
It still smells amazing but it doesn't last. Ill get maybe 3-4 hrs before i have to reply.
Try applying some vaseline, then the fragrance. Should give a boost of 1-2 hours.
