we know it's not the best, since you have that too, but it remains a dream, who knows if it will happen like for my IC-R9000, it took 30 years for the price to be lowered, I dreamed of it as a kid I looked at it in the catalog at the end 80s, now it is unsellable above 1000 USD, however everything I listen to with SDR-Play-DX I also hear with it and my ear prefers the analogue quality to the conversion.Ciao
How does it compare to Ten Tec 340? Thoughts? Do ramble, I want to know all. Wished I had one of each and a good site with a superb antenna. Imagine what these would do say up in Dakotas or Iowa (here) in tural setting with no noise around on 100-foot plus tall towers with antennas to match. My dream one day. For now R75 will have to do.
@@AldoSchmedack you should look through my video library. Click my name then click videos. There are about 100 radio videos comparing hi end receivers including the 9500, 340, and the 75. Also many others
I did a video comparing both radios. Look back through my videos. The 8600 is a good radio except everything is menu driven. You have to go through multiple screens and buttons to accomplish the same thing
What an amazing piece of equipment.
The best receiver out there....
Great bit of kit. I'd love to get my hands on one to have a play. Thanks for showing it to us and keep em coming. All the best Graham
Thanks Graham, come on over and have a play anytime
@@dieselten01 I'd love to but think you may be across the pond from me. What's your antenna of choice for it?
@@Radiocruncher I am in Dallas, TX. I use a Wellbrook loop feeding through a series of Stridsberg Engineering Multicouplers to feed all the radios

I wonder how the IC-R8600 ( direct sampling ) compares to this ?

Does Icom no longer make this radio or something?
I haven’t checked in several months. A quick look at their web site should answer your question
It must cost about $ 10.000
So what?
