This is when X Factor actually had some credibility, and you could value what the judges said. Now days its just a "get famous quick" circus show, with fake judges, fake contestants and over the top performances. I think the best thing they could do next year, is go back to basics, and cut out all the other BS, that has spoilt the show.
X Factor never had any credibility. It was always a show where the audience figures for the show were more important than finding anyone with any genuine talent. Just look at the number of sob stories there were. One woman got to the semi final on the back of saying she found an xfactor application form among her dead dad's things. What a joke.
They should, they judge for god's sake, that is their job. Sharon is truthful about Steve's averageness. It seems to be that X Factor hides it's own malice by either A editing it out or B, they prematurely choose a golden goose for them to win the show. Zoe Alexander was nearly driven to suicide thanks to these bigoted producers. I do not know how terrible it was for her, but check her video out. You will never know how traumatising it was for her on that day.
They were a lot more angrier and fiery when it first started to think Steve won it as well and there dissing him like this over a performance it’s mad.
Sharon was quite nasty to Steve, she was so horrible. poor Steve, he won fair and square. Sharon's only won with Sam Bailey in season 10. Steve was better than G4. and Cassie. Steve is the best winner along with Leona, they are better than Joe.

I wish the X Factor was still like this. Yes, the stage is smaller, but at least it was what it said on the tin - a talent show. These days, is all about the stage productions which mask the limited vocal abilities of the contestants (i.e. Jedward), the novelty acts (again, Jedward), and the bloody style-wars (Cheryl vs. Dannii). By the way Sharon, what's wrong with being overly confident? It worked for Rhydian!
I've always really liked this guy. He was the first contestant to win that didn't fit into the image Cowell had for a winner. He had experience of being a real life musician, he know who he was as an artist and what he wanted to do and he wasn't desperate enough to allow his principles to be corrupted. Sadly this worked against him and he has suffered for it but there's no denying his talent and voice.
Perhaps because he was the first contestant ever to win full stop! His career was also very short lived. He was dropped from the record label within a few months and was never heard of again. You could argue that that means that the public were never really behind him and he only won because of pity votes because Sharon attacked him live on TV.

Andy was on X Factor 2 PD... and I disagree about his singing- I think he has a phenomenal, distinctive voice. I loved Steve from the start- something special about his voice and him, the person- so agree with you there PD.

A real great book, very well written and interesting. Could not put it down after I had started it. Later I ordered Steve`s new CD "Forgotten man", because that man is great and he did by no means deserve the injustice that was done to him!
Yeah, same here. Steve was already an experienced pro (and when I mean pro I mean a hard working gigging to pay the bills musician and not some kid that Cowell could pull strings on) and stood up to being manipulated when he is/was also a songwriter with major label interest. Read the book prior to holidays in a week but had to read it! Shame Sharon took Steve's obvious modesty and easy going attitude as having a massive ego. Do people honestly think that if Steve was (a pub singer, of which there is fuck all to be ashamed of) then he'd get to work with the guys he has? Those of us into jazz/soul/funk know it. A great book but it's obvious it wasn't written by Steve, and it has a few grammar issues and is displayed as though some of the stuff we already know is written as if we didn't know at all. There's nothing wrong with being overconfident, but in the X Factor you've got to "play the game" by being a nice clueless robot in front of the cameras.

Sorry, all due respect. Sharon did lie about the events of the X Factor final. It's not important now but it did disappoint me at the time. I think Sharon has issues dating back to her relationship with her dad and has a history of outlandish behaviour where as I do not. S I don't see why she is more likely to be telling the truth after the events of that night.

It's been said he was first in the voting poll almost in every week. It was probably a fix anyway.

i never remember this series and for all i know sharon may have been right, but simon raises a great point..
it may not be personal to sharon, it might just be "business". she has a career and a very well paid one at that. for steve on the other it is personal. she shouldn't be putting somebody else's life in jeopardy because she doesn't liken them..

Feel sorry for this Guy! He really isn’t the best singer but he has soul.. and I liked him...In his auditions... they thought he didn’t have the right attitude. And said he was defeatist... Then Sharon says he is over confident.. Make your mind up.... to Sharon was really awful to him. He didn’t deserve it. Simon ruined his career too. It’s a shame.

A real great book, very well written and interesting. Could not put it down after I had started it. Later I ordered Steve`s new CD "Forgotten man", because that man is great and he did by no means deserve the injustice that was done to him!
Yeah, same here. Steve was already an experienced pro (and when I mean pro I mean a hard working gigging to pay the bills musician and not some kid that Cowell could pull strings on) and stood up to being manipulated when he is/was also a songwriter with major label interest. Read the book prior to holidays in a week but had to read it! Shame Sharon took Steve's obvious modesty and easy going attitude as having a massive ego. Do people honestly think that if Steve was (a pub singer, of which there is fuck all to be ashamed of) then he'd get to work with the guys he has? Those of us into jazz/soul/funk know it. Hope he has a great 2015

A great book but it's obvious it wasn't written by Steve, and it has a few grammar issues and is displayed as though some of the stuff we already know is written as if we didn't know at all. There's nothing wrong with being overconfident, but in the X Factor you've got to "play the game" by being a nice clueless robot in front of the cameras.

I believe "over-confident" to be a step above "confident" which is personally what i would do. Who would want to "compartmentalize" their confidence, that's bonkers !!!
And, "full of oneself", meaning, hold oneself in HIGH REGARD for their talent.

Sorry, all due respect. Sharon did lie about the events of the X Factor final. It's not important now but it did disappoint me at the time. I think Sharon has issues dating back to her relationship with her dad and has a history of outlandish behaviour where as I do not. S I don't see why she is more likely to be telling the truth after the events of that night.

..self you came across to the judges at first as a shy, innocent guy even though you could see your arrogant side from the start, and then because Simon became over confident you thought you would follow in his footsteps and be his shadow, although you did a good job as coming across as the innocent guy again when you pleaded to the public. Anyway it was nice to speak to the true Steve, the Steve that Sharon was on about all along. In fact I think Sharon was very nice to you considering :)
