      @@gaBetibu I love working with HS Students. Yes, I could make two-three times as much If I went back into the workforce, but the satisfaction I get each day watching them absorb the information and take certification exams and get industry credentials while still in HS is just so satisfying. Thanks so much for understanding.

    You are STRONG! Your muscles are well defined too. You GO!!! The food all looks really good. I try to keep my protein at about 100 grams, so I use a lot of TVP. It''s so versatile. I do protein shakes too. I really appreciate seeing a full day of activity and eating. It's a great model to follow that we can customize to ourselves. Hope you and your family have a GREAT Holiday Season!

To a great plant based 2025! Be proud of your efforts this year Joey - and thank you for all the videos documenting it all, learned a lot, and no doubt there is more to come. Sending hugs!

    Joey, loved your refrigerator setup with the salad items. Do you keep them uncovered? How long does the lettuce last like that? Do you supply once or twice a week? At the moment I use the ikea glass containers but I put lids on them. It would be nice to set up the bottom drawer like you have it. You’re looking great.

      Hi Karen. I keep all of it covered with the covers that came with the contiainers. Then, if we are feeling snackie or if we want to make a salad, I open them up and take what we need. I have lots of those glass containers from IKEA too. Love them. I put all our leftovers in those. Thanks so much for the thoughtful comment.

    For those who have tried soy curls and didn't like them, here is how I treat them - takes a little longer, but taste is much better and even my non-vegan daughter likes them. My first soak is hot water to totally cover, let them sit for 15-30 minutes, mix around a few times. Then drain, rinse and squeeze all the water out - the water will look yellow and that is what you are trying to get rid of, it can leave a weird taste. Then I cover them with hot broth/marinade of some kind, and let them sit for a least 30 minutes to soak up the flavor. Then I drain again and squeeze lightly, you want some of that marinade to stick around. Then I put it in the skillet to brown and finish with whatever sauce is called for. It kind of depends on your taste buds as to how you react to soy curls, some think they are fine with just an initial soak and then cook, others find them kind of disgusting unless extra steps are taken, some even do 2 initial soak/rinses before using marinade and then cooking. It's not a lot of work, you just have to plan ahead earlier in the day. Or, if you don't have that kind of time the day of, then you can prepare them the night before and just let them sit in the marinade in the fridge until ready to cook. Anyways, that is very interesting about height influencing weight and muscle - just goes to show, there are many factors influencing our bodies and everyone has to find the right balance for them and not constantly compare themselves to some set standard. You look pretty fit, Joey, so take the W and continue on with your program.

    Hmmmm, I haven’t finished the video yet but ya I think more clearly defined objective goals may help ya such as I want to be x % body fat. Realistically a super low body fat is not something to be maintained year round. You can wear gloves to protect your hands from the weights. Also if you want different results you may find it from different form
    When you lift. Looked like there was a lot of jerking movements to create momentum and that wont give you gains you may be looking for.
    I love your water fountain and I think you are doing amazing! Keep it up!

    • @PlantBasedDads
      @PlantBasedDads  16 дней назад +1

      I do have clearly defined objectives. That is what the last year of videos is about. My body fat started at 33% and is at about 25%. I want to be at 15% and I have achieved that by understanding how a person of my size has a much lower BMR and making sure I stay at a calorie deficit each day. I have come up with all new meals to match my macros as well as a 3-4 day a week workout plan for resistance training and protecting my muscle while I try and burn off the fat. That is a standard cutting idealogy. I would say my objective are very clear. I like the gloves idea for sure. I am not really worried about the dirt on my hands at the gym, but I am worried about forgetting to wash my hands before I make a meal sometimes. I think a pair of workout gloves would be a great idea for that. Thanks so much for watching and commenting. I appreciate you.

    First Joey, you are looking really great. Second, I feel your pain at being short. I am female, 63 and am 5'1". Currently, down to 112 from 119 starting in June. I would like to get down to 107 but seem stuck. Depending on what calculator I use, I would probably need to go down to 1200 calories a day or less to lose the remaining weight. I do moderately intensive aerobics at least 6 days a week and trying to get in 3 days a week light resistance/strength workouts. I just started to track my macros yesterday. I am not a big eater and yesterday only had around 1000 calories and that was a pretty much a typical day of eating.

    • @PlantBasedDads
      @PlantBasedDads  16 дней назад +3

      I am going to do a whole video about why short people cant lose fat like taller people for the simple fact that we just have less muscle mass on us because we are smaller.

    Im not a macro coach but I am 5’4” woman and my macros are higher than yours and I do not workout. Considering that you are lifting you may consider increasing your macros/total kcals per day in order to grow your muscles. Ya gotta feed em!

    • @PlantBasedDads
      @PlantBasedDads  16 дней назад

      I am actually trying to lose fat, not grow muscle. I am cutting, not bulking. That's the reason for the deficit. The working out and protein is to maintain the muscle I have during this period.

    • @zizzolizzo1
      @zizzolizzo1 16 дней назад

      @@PlantBasedDads i think your cut has been too long then.
      If your goal seems unachievable, it may take two cutting phases with a bulking phase in the middle to reach your goals in a healthy manner and on a sustainable level. It is not out of the ordinary to be doing bulk phases and cutting phases on a loop, of course with some rest phases.

    • @PlantBasedDads
      @PlantBasedDads  16 дней назад

      @@zizzolizzo1 That is possible. I have read that you should take a 1 week break every three weeks for long term cutting.
