He's right. I've driven both. The Focus ST feels great for what it is... A quick & nimble little street car. But the Fiesta ST?! That thing feels like unmitigated VIOLENCE on wheels 😳😅
Fiesta ST> Focus ST Having driven both back to back I can verify that this statement is true. While the Fiesta lacks the all out acceleration of the Focus it more than makes up for it in the handling. The handling in the fiesta is insanely good due to being so light. The Fiesta st is essentially a FWD 4 door Miata.
I second this. I was a diehard vw guy, loved my golf R. Ditched it in a heartbeat for the fiesta. It's simply stupid that a car this new handles this well. It's like a little puppy that always wants to play lol
Bought a Fiesta ST 2 months ago and I'm already to trade it in for a lower mileage one in a better color so I can modify it. It'll definetly be a forever car.

I’m driving a Fiesta ST a few years after selling my Focus ST. They’re different cars, but they share the same formula: torquey little engines, the ability to rotate in turns, with a pretty nice manual as the only transmission option. I think the Focus is more refined, quieter, quicker, but also heavier and with more isolation between the road and driver. The Fiesta reminds me of foundational hot hatches and their lighter weight, quicker reflexes and higher level of driver involvement at lower speeds. Like a Miata, BR-Z or 86, you don’t have to triple the speed limit to have fun in the Fiesta ST. The Focus did not feel like a light car to me. The Fiesta feels like a front-wheel drive Miata, BR-z or 86 with a hatch. And with summer tires, the grip is insane. It’s funny to think that I ended up back behind the wheel of a car like this after so many years, with compromises such as noisy freeway travel, reduced cargo capacity, and fewer comfort and convenience options. If you’re careful, you just might end up like me 😂😂😂

Smart. The problem with modern cars is that they can be too "luxurious" and heavy so you feel disconnected from the road. You want a car that makes you feel alive even at normal speeds and not accelerating hard.

100% When I drove both on track at the Ford Performance driving school thing when I got my FIST, the Focus was good fun, the Fiesta was great fun, and it confirmed my choice. I live in the mountains, and even driving down to the mailbox is fun in a FIST!
I never had the opportunity to drive a Fiesta ST, everyone has the same opinion about it. I chose the Focus ST because when I drove one for the first time it spoke to me instantly, the way the car felt and the power just made it a great driving experience. I've taken my ST pretty far with modifications. You really need to experience a Focus ST with a Mfactory/Wavetrac/Quaife LSD. So far my favorite mod I've ever done to my Focus ST is the Mfactory LSD, which changes the entire car.

Well it is still an fwd platform so idk (fiesta driver myself)
For sure! They are both pretty awesome!
Trouble is in the states you guys don't get the mk4 focus st, that car is a different animal altogether, he right though the mk3 focus st is meh, especially compared to the mk7 fiesta st
I’ve heard this from others as well! Interesting for sure!
@@MaxHPower the main difference is the engine, the old 2.0l has a tiny turbo which is difficult to get power out of, the mk4 has the 2.3 ecoboost although different turbo to the focus rs, however a simple stage 1 still yields over 500nm and 330bhp, if your willing to change the turbo 440bhp at the crank although good luck getting that kind of power down
KB43❤
tbh in a focus st you'd be pissed at yourself for not getting a focus rs lol
bro put in racing harness for 200 hp
Can never be to safe😏
fiestas run 10s all day focus you got to dump big money
what absorber did u use sir?
Feel free to checkout the full video I have on this car! The owner’s Instagram is linked in that description and you may ask him!😄👌
Try a mini jcw, those deffo feel faster than the fiesta and deffo feel like a go kart
Those are awesome cars!
more unreliable
@@NEMESISISDEAD depends which engine, luckily I have the N18 but N14 are dogshit
The only reason i got the focus is because i have a 2 yr old lol. Even if i was single i would probably still go for the focus though i love that car
Fiestas look and sound better. They weigh less too.
I haven’t ridden in a focus ST yet, I’m looking forward to comparing then!
no they don’t lol
@@Jackson-xm6xb 100% do. The Focus ST is one of the worst sounding 4 bangers. It just sounds flat.
@@DrivenMind get an rs then. Really good sounding car
@@DrivenMindnone sense.... If you pick the right exhaust they sound really good. Tune has a bit to do with it aswell. MBRP and Cobb do the STs right. Those loud garbage exhausts i would agree with you. The two i listed sound pretty similar to a Boxer engine. I went with MBRP still stock downpipe for now though. I know noise will increase once i get dp but we will see when time comes.
how much bhp is it running?
Approximately 320!!
What shifter is that
Yeah it’s awesome! There’s a full video of it on my channel, like 6 or 7 videos ago! It should answer any questions you might have!
I only have the focus bcus in the UK fiesta st in 5 door are near impossible to get and I needed 4 door car for kids
Gotcha! Quite common here in the US! The focus is awesome too though!
Oh that’s why I saw 5 door fiesta st lines going for literally twice the price as the 3 door ones.
Explains so much since I basically have the same problem with 2 friends. I just decided one of them gotta climb into the back cuz I can’t afford the 5 doors
@@Mona-.- you can get them but I'm sure it's only between 16 to 18 plate and they are like 10k + lol nuts
@@Fordfocusstmk3250 yeah on auto trader they started at like 8k and I was not happy
Why not get a Miata if nimbleness is what you were after. More reliable too
