We're doing Anything Goes for this episode, where all of us are allowed to play any deck we want. Due to American Thanksgiving messing up our recording schedule, Vince couldn't join us for this episode, so Crim returns to take the spot of our favorite Brit for this video. Here's what we brought:
Crim plays a Discard deck, destroying his opponent's hands in service of the elder dragon, Nicol Bolas, the Ravager.
Richard plays a Lifegain Tokens Sacrifice deck with partners Krav, the Unredeemed and Regna, the Redeemer.
Seth forces his opponents to make terrible blocks and then punishes them for it with partners Gorm the Great and Virtus the Veiled.
Tomer plays a Dragon Token Tribal deck, using powerful Dragon lords to beef up his Go Wide army, led by The Ur-Dragon.
We've got two partner pairs never before played on Commander Clash! How will they fare? Let's find out!

Is "Gorm" the shortest word Seth has ever mispronounced?
I'm personally surprised he managed to mispronounce the shorter and easier name instead of the other one that is pretty weird. Seth is truly a piece of work.
Seth will mispronounce a single letter in future.

I really like the setup with Seth, Richard, Tomer, and Vince (Vince/Tomer bickering aside), but gosh darn Crim is a damn riot! Please have him on more. This group works so well!

Richard not casting one of his TWO castable wraths the turn after the demon went down and then using the other mode on cleansing nova the turn after was such a massive punt. i get you want to kill the evasion but you literally just established you need to kill the demon.
And kill half his mana to preserve an Ayli and some tokens.
Yeah, how he didn't put two and two together that E-wit grabs the sword is just beyond me.

Especially as he's usually the durdly one that just kinda wants to have fun most of the time, getting a turn 5 win was a complete 180.
I miss Vince but Crim is a great inclusion as well!

Watching Seth take out each player in combat once a turn was so satisfying. This was a great episode.
Commander Clash is so great. It's like my Saturday morning cartoon. Keep up the good work guys.
Okay I absolutely love crim in the commander videos, I like him even more than in tha main videos. Between his dirty lies (*has wheel + notion thief in hand* "Seth, before you do anything, I want to remind you that Im playing fair magic"), his funny comments ("We're getting aristocrated! NOOOO") and the fact that he's always laughing, I would love to see him more often in the videos. My only issue is that I love Vince too xD
Crim is easily my favorite person ever. He had the perfect level of casual and jank for this group and I’m in love with how these four play together. It’s even power levels like this and it’s awesome!!!!

First commander clash this season I have actually been able to finish, way less toxic, even if Seth did kill then cripple Tomer first in each game. More of this group please

First of all, the second week with crim was amazing and i really like that him on the show as well as vince. second seth NEVER DIDNT HAVE IT!

I really wanted to see tomer's deck do something, I felt that was pretty interesting, I dont understand the need to kill somebody so early in the game, or to cripple a player so much that he can't do anything else for the rest of the game.
lol i really enjoy this squad. The addition of Krim is awesome. Seth, Richard, Tomer, and Krim are hilarious.
I would be so down with these four for the next season. Not hating on Vince, he's a great addition too

Two years late: I also built just half a deck for Virtus and Gorm, ran out of ideas... and filled the rest with rat colony. It has become my favorite deck.

Seth played his Commander - BOTH Commanders - and used them by attacking. A+ game.
While I miss the sultry tones of Vince's voice I really like the chemistry of this quartet. This cast would be my nomination for next season (with Tom and Vince as the alternates)

Seth was correct in killing Crim before Richard, simply because Crim is in red and blue, so he could potentially have an answer that SLS doesn't avoid.

Seth attacked Tomer for half his health 4 times, one of which wasn’t even with his commander (looking at you Ink Eyes). If I was Tomer I would also be whining.
And if I were Donald Trump I would be president.
Finally I can watch a commander clash again. Vince is a good guy, but he is ALWAYS speaking. Whenever someone says something he must say something back. It got really annoying and he drowned out the other people too much.
He's usually a streamer so it's always him and someone else where he's filling dead air.
Well, I think Crim is now truly broken in as a Commander Clash veteran. Good stuff, makes a great guest player for sure.

Hey Tomer, I hope you read this.
I actually made your token Dragon deck on MTGO because I, too, thought it was a sweet take and I wanted a commander dragon deck. I played a few games with it. It was the second I copied from the awesome decklist that get posted in the description. (The first was your phelddagrif group hug deck which is very fun to play as it impacts everyones game, which I enjoy in commander.)
My thoughts on the dragon token deck
I added a few ramp and interaction spells from the pheldagriff deck and never regrettet drawing them. Arcane Adaption is very strong because you get the cost reduction as it affects cards in your hand, but you need to draw it and the token spells are mostly noncreature spells. It feels bad to miss out on the cost reduction from Ur-Dragon. Having a 5 mana token spell but 4 mana available, you would rather have a 5 mana dragon you can play one turn early. btw I got off a much better (40 life !) storm herd once, but it was immediately board wiped =(
If you bring it again I would suggest looking for creatures that create tokens rather than instant or sorceries. Arcane adaption makes them dragons in your hand and you can play them 1 mana cheaper because of Ur-Dragon. Creatures with battlecry effects and tutors for arcane adaption (? do they exist?) seem really strong the more I think about it.
Other than that Frontier Siege is the mvp of the ramp spells in my experience, especially with the cost reduction on your dragons. I seldomly won a game if any (it has been a while since I played), because it is very vulnerable to board wipes and expensive to rebuild with card draw being a problem. got stuck on 1-2 cards often.
The synergy of dragons with the now-dragon-tokens was always fun when it worked and very strong. I often killed one other player when I wasn't shut down early on in the game.
So I hope this helps, as you didn't really got to do and show your thing.

I would like to request a 5 colour week to give Tomer a chance to play his deck again.
"I had a way of destroying artifacts and enchantments" really, Tomer? Was it that Aura Shards, the card you spend countless minutes railing against because it's too powerful?
Yeah Tomer is kind of a hypocritical douchebag. However it was also "anything goes" this week so I don't know. But yeah, fuck tomer. I don't think anyone else backstabs as much as that prick.

Don't know old lore but in new lore the war is kind of jumped around via flashbacks. But in the end arcades & nicol bolas are the remaining fighters in the war, ugin warps in interrupting his twin brother bolas. They have a chat bolas gets insulted ugin warps away bolas spark ignites to go after him, and arcades claims dominaria. Thats the shortest way i can tell the war story.

@@DieJG well it was a retelling of how bolas and ugins spark ignited. He might be alive, there is a theory going around kristina in her duel with leshrac killed him. But wizards might be rewriting some old lore so who knows
It's such a nice change to not hear constant salt and bickering. Commander is fun to watch but when the players just piss and moan, even in jest, it makes it a terrible experience imo. Same reason I stopped watching SCG's commander series forever ago.
So is virtus and gorm good or are these guys that bad? :P I kid, that is a rough effect to have to keep dealing with.
Virtus reminds me of an equipment based Glissa, the Traitor I played awhile back, Quietus Spike is awesome when it just keeps coming back.

Even better Lure target is Elven Warhounds (because it puts all creatures back on top of the library)
Seth= knows lots of things about magic...doesbt mean he know how to play commander
Richard= owns mtggoldfish and all the affiliates, loves playing commander as long as it trible
Tommer= loves commander player jank and loves drawing card
Crim= loves magic has no idea how to play commander, but has fun and screws everyone else deck over

It's definitely the shortest non-infinite combo game, but might be the shortest overall.

Watching 1/4 players able to do anything besides bad ramp on turns 1-3 is sooooo painful to watch.

This episode screams to me that Tomer irrationally hates on Vince. Seth kills everyone at the table in minutes and no Tomer rallying the table to try and kill him. Curious.
It does feel weird how calmly they go " huh i forgot strip mine this week" when the last few episodes they talk like its the playgroup staple card. Then no vince, no strip mine.

In all honesty i dont think there is a bully vince plan. Vince is just very open about the strengths of his deck. And my commander experience shows that gets you killed.

2: I literaly made a better dragon tribal deck with Ur Dragon, just by upgrading the pre con, and I can ashure you, it has perfect mana base. I never got flooded or screwed naturally.
