Actually, Buddha encouraged his followers to put his teachings to the test if they find doubt on them. What's important in Buddhism is that you rely on rationality and common sense, as well as to not bring harm to others

At Buddhist temples you don’t need any guards, the hungry stray ghosts living nearby will take care of any burglars without any issues 🤣
The reasons the families bring kids here are for different reasons. 1. The kids aren’t scared of this since they study this already. Or 2. The kids are naughty and the parents will scare the kids so they don’t be bad

It’s funny reading comments ta about “that’s not family friendly” when I heard allllll this nasty torture and punishment depictions from baptist Sunday school. Except they told us it was for eternity, and no matter how good we were if we had sun when we died we went there.

I love seeing things from different cultures. Perhaps it is commonplace over there and they bring their kids to show them what awaits them if they don't stay on the path.

I’m not a religious person but religions fascinate me for some reason. I think its just that alot of cultures completely revolve around their religions like those buddhists. And the temples are so stunning. A personal favourite of mine is the depictions of lord shiva with cobra on his shoulder. The Adiyogi Shiva statue in India does this light show on the statue and theres music and the story of Shiva and how he gave humanity yoga. I haven’t seen it in real life, only on youtube but Dav you should watch it if you haven’t seen it. It’s amazing. Just sit yourself, turn off the lights and watch it on your tv with the sound up. Its an epic experience. I can only imagine how epic it would be to see it in person.

@@DavKaufmansAdventures yeah just search for Adiyogi shiva light show 2022 and it will come up. Its that Sadhguru fella that tells the story. Infact I think it was him that had that statue built. Its in the record books as the worlds largest bust statue as its just the head and shoulders. The statue of unity that is also in india is the worlds biggest statue.I would truely love to see them one day.

A lot of temples take care of stray dogs or cats (it’s usually one or the other). I bet those two dogs lived there and had some significant role in an event at the temple (saved someone’s life, etc.).

From what I could tell with the Dog Taxidermy, it seems to be a certain Monk’s companion from a while back. One was named “Tarzan”.
Buddhism isn't a religion it's a way of life through the teachings of 4 noble truths and 8 fold paths for every day living which in turn you "cultivate" good karma, It's only recently within the past couple centuries that it morphed into a cult. Another good example is Christianity and Catholicism and all the many many many sub-cults that fall under this umbrella, Jesus didn't want this at all, he merely wanted people to love and care for one another. Yet again I digress... (food for thought people)

The “real Buddha” was actually skinny. All religions are man made, because ‘back then’, they didn’t understand where rain came from or what the wind was. So they made up gods. The comforting thought of “seeing” all your dead relatives in a paradise, keeps everyone indoctrinated and hanging on to that good feeling. Having said that, religions fascinate me. They’re all contradictory and they all think they’re the only “right” one.
