- Interim Middleweight Championship bout between #1 Ranked Middleweight Contender Yoel Romero & #2 Ranked Middleweight Contender Luke Rockhold. Yoel Romero was coming in to this fight with a record of 12-2 while Luke Rockhold was coming into this fight with a record of 16-3.
Note that Yoel Romero missed weight after weighting in at 187.7 lbs, 2.7 pounds over the Middleweight limit. This meant that only Luke Rockhold was eligible to win the Interim Middleweight Title with a win.

Yoel's defense is strange but incredibly effective. He blocks a ton of shots.

It was a lot more competitive than I recall. Of course, no question who won with the ending ha ha.
also the video is really choppy with way to many jump cuts, like at 4:00, im sure i speak for everyone that we wouldve liked to see the entire sequence of that knockdown

Very true the way he try’s closing the gap/void is not very good most of the time the first time he entered with double jab instead of running at him it worked almost like he’s learning fundamentals in the fight😂
