If you cant afford 25 + shipping on the kantana you can find similar ones that do the same thing for under 5$ on Aliexpress For people that DONT have the money to spare. They work just the same and last just as long.
Lol, I liked it when you said you could put some paper underneath that first nail to save your glitter. I watch another nail channel (which I love) but they're so wasteful with glitter! They always say "well, you're charging your customer for it so don't worry", but waste is waste. Why be wasteful if you can prevent it? Ok, rant over lol.
Thanks so much for this video. I was doing my own nails and wanted to get my glitter right. Sprinkling the glitter never came out right but using the brush worked perfectly.
THANK YOU!!!! Logically, I hesitantly knew to do some of this stuff the ways you did it, but you did them so effortlessly, and took it whatever silly unnecessary steps I put in lol. So helpful, thank you thank you thank you!!!! ❤

I love encapsulation because I hate texture in my nails and beads always catch on my hair. With this I never have catching and its smooth to the touch!
Thank you so much Liz you always inspired me.. i use gel glue with no wipe top coat like u have mentioned before n now m happy with long lasting embellishments on nails🥰 love how well you explain everything🤗
Cool tip about the primer/ph bond. I have been struggling with encapsulation especially with finish file. I always get the bubbles or see the scratches in it. Thank you 🤗
Hey Liz! Can you please do a video on chrome nails? I’ve learned how to do it before however I would love to see your standpoint on the steps you take :)

Thank you I’m trying to add nail art once I’m finished with the polish my first nail came out really good and I just need help with the art now:) to make them more prettier
I love this tutorial. Would you use dip with glitter? I have a bunch that I purchased but I he dip flu and even with the sensitive formula I still find it’s too rigid for my soft nails, but if I could use them with gel polish that would be great!
@@fredjohn6350 no you didn’t say anything “bad” it’s just what’s your intention saying hello to me and other women on RUclips videos? Maybe you should try a dating site Fred
I love that tip about going back into the lamp after you add the foil before top coat! I'm wondering, will this also work for a glitter fade? I find that I will brush my glitter to the tacky layer and love the fade I get but then I top coat and it moves it! will this tip help that as well??? thanks so much for the amazing info you provide!
For a glitter fade I would personally recommend mixing glitter into gel first and then creating the fade with your custom mix so you cut down on mess. But yes, any time you are covering the inhibition layer and you re-cure it helps to cure that now covered area and lock in what you have put on top. The inhibition layer (sticky layer) is in fact uncured gel so once it's covered it will cure.
I use a sheet of photo paper when I mixing gels. 4 x 6 photo paper is non-toxic and safe, plus it is like $6 for 100 sheets, you can mix multiple sets on the same sheet, and use a pen to make dividing lines to prevent spillage. And when you are done with it, simply dispose.
I love your video's I'm learning so much from you, I prefer using gel over acrylic but I have a question please help 😊 I have a new set of gel polish. I polished my friends nails for her and when the top coat had cured it had a blue hue to it ??? The brands are the same, I know that if you mix different brands that there can be certain reactions but this isn't the case 🤷♀️ I'm very confused as to why this is happening please help 💖
Simone Clark the blue is probably from a combo of the tint in the top coat (some top coats have blue tint to combat yellowing) and also the lamp. The blue should subside after a while and is meant to keep white from looking yellow after curing. But sometimes over blacks the blue tint can look more obvious short term. It should chill out after a few hours once the photoinitiators in the gel lose their “charge” from being in uv
She explain how to do it in the video.. You should apply your color with the system of your choice (colored gel or gel polish in thin layers), after that apply a thin coat of top coat (it must be a top coat in bottle because it is a thinner formula than builder in bottle or use a thin gel in pot like a finishing for example because we want to limit the thickness of the nail) after that apply the glitters or other nail art product on the uncured gel to make it stick on it, cure it and when it’s perfectly cured apply a coat of builder in bottle or a builder gel in pot because for this step you need a thicker formula to smooth the surface, encapsulate the glitters and form a stronger structure (apex). I hope that It help but the video is very detailed and well done to understand the process of encapsulation.
What type of glitter is that? Is that like regular glitter that you'd find at the art craft store or is there a specific brand of glitter(s) I'd have to purchase?
This one is more of a dry craft glitter. The only thing you have to watch for when using craft glitter is that they can be susceptible to solvents that are in our nail products, and sometimes the metallic or color effects on the Glitter will get eaten away by the ingredients in the gel or the acrylic formula. You also just want to take into consideration where the Glitter is being manufactured because when you’re talking about things being eaten away or potentially dissolved, you want to also know that you’re not dealing with something that might have lead or other dangerous chemicals included in it. Definitely an extreme example but I always like to put that out there for people to consider because some places that you come across on the Internet are not the most high quality sources for even the most simplistic products and it’s just something to watch out for.
Sorry never heard of it. Looks like a knock off of CND? Probably a Chinese product similar to Bluesky that is a cheap alternative to CND Shellac. These are common. In my personal humble opinion I would not buy it. Looks cheap and probably has cheap ingredients. But that's just my opinion. Ask them for an SDS sheet and check ingredients. If it contains more than 5% HEMA or contains Nitrocellulose it's going to be a waste of money.
Yes, I have seen Young Nails do a video about mixing your own glitter with builder gel. They do use a top coat afterwards as the last step after finish filing the builder gel.
Great video as always! The tip about the primer to help with scratches in the glitter was priceless ,now I know how to fix that. May I ask what product you used? Cheers from down under 🌺🐨
so for the first part with the glitter, after u apply top coat / glitter then cure....what are u using for the "wet layer"? the builder gel or top coat?
i did the dry glitter method and the gel has a tendency to retreat from the edges of each hex of glitter as it shrinks with the cure, a little frustrating, i just ended up filling in with more layers and thickness
I'm teaching myself self-manicures at home and this video was soooo helpful thank you so much! I always wondered why the base gel I used was sticky after curing- now I know it's because the top layer is exposed to oxygen under the curing lamp but underneath the foil the gel is not sticky.
Oooh... Now I know what to do in order to prevent the Gold colour from turning into another color... Thank you for this video Liz!

Only works with bonder or super thin base coats. PH Bond and dehydrators wont do anything. Has to be that sticky thin bonder type product.
