    Dr. Carol Chakua is a mom, therapist, author and parenting coach who is passionate about parenting, emotional wellness and quality education. Currently, her practice focuses on training, counselling and coaching families, parents, teachers and other caregivers of children. She is Founder and Coach at BEing Parenting, a program for the 21st Century parent and caregiver of children from toddler to teenage. BEing Parenting equips the parent to identify obstacles that stand in the way of effective parenting and provides practical tools for dealing with moment by moment parenting struggles. She also develops and delivers content for parents going through different phases, faces, stages and spaces of parenting. Her most recent project is her new book -
    Parenting With Your Heart in Mind - A Candid Peek into A Parent’s Heart - a practical guide that invites the the parent to become more conscious, intentional, present and confident their parenting journey.
    Dr. Carol holds a PhD in Medical Education, a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology and a Bachelor’s degree in Education. She is a Certified Psychologist as well as a Certified Trainer of
    Trainers in Skillful Parenting. She is a full-time faculty member at Moi University, where she teaches Counselling and Psychology courses; and has worked in numerous educational and mental health institutions both in Kenya and in the US for over 15 years. She is also a founding board member of the Positive Psychology Association of Kenya.
    Dr. Carol serves on the National Panel on Parental Empowerment and Engagement, formed under the Ministry of Education, where she advises on the most effective ways that parents can be empowered and engaged to help their children to thrive. She has been engaged in creating and
    delivering audio and video content for the ‘Managing Learners at Home’ series, a radio and TV program produced for Kenyan parents under the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development.
    Dr. Carol is a contributing writer and panelist on parenting and mental health issues on various platforms. She frequently appears on major TV and radio stations in Kenya, including Citizen TV, KTN, K24, KBC and EduTV as an expert panelist on parenting and mental health. She consults with educational, corporate and non-profit institutions in developing programs that support confident and purposeful parenting for the 21 st Century parent. She provides face to face and online parent
    coaching sessions for individuals and groups of parents.

    Dr. Chakua's book is eye-opening... I love the statement on type of parent : Are you a carpenter or a farmer?
