I was at Mandalay Bay 4 or 5 months ago, on a Wheel of Fortune (the one w/ orbs that add up and turn into wilds after 10 spins) when a group of 5 security guards came to a machine next to me. The supervisor was teaching a new guy how advantage play works in that Wheel of Fortune, instructing him to ask the player to leave the casino, in case he saw someone checking how many orbs were in each bet. That's why when a channel mentions it, they are very discrete to instruct their viewers in that regard. Just sit at any casino in Vegas and look around. You are going to see many players, walking fast and checking all bets from machine to machine, to machine. I have talked to several of them...an Afganistan veteran, a junkie from a wealthy family in Utah, a guy who's been in and out of jail, and saw many, many Asians stalking machines and waiting for people to leave. A player who treats it like a business told me he walks 9 miles/day from casino to casino, and that's his job. One of them told me he always sits to check bets to avoid being kicked out. Casinos don't want advantage players on the floor. They want gamblers, people who sit there and spend money. Players don't even call themselves gamblers. They don't waste money, they collect money.

I passed. I once saw a team of 5 guys taking on an entire bank of Buffalo Link, at the Wynn. One of them was playing on two machines and they were speed tapping that button, like a job in a factory. Question on that $1,025 Blazing 7's hit. Why was that a hand pay? Does it not have to be $1,200 or more to be a hand pay? Thanks again for all the great advice.
I see that he answered that question earlier. Something about it being an older machine and the progressives were paid by hand even though they aren't taxed.
I was wondering that myself. The casino might do it as a courtesy thing and or fishing for tips, but they should not file any W2-G for it as it us under $1200. At least that would be my argument.

Not as big a fan of Double Blazing 7's as much as the regular Blazing 7's machine because I have never hit the progressives on the Double machine. Hit the progressive a few times on $5 machines for $5k+, but never on a double machine. ☹

What do you think of counting spins? $100÷3=33 spins. I would have quit at $42. Then you stayed on and WON!!!
A slot machine can hit on any spin, so counting the spins really wouldn’t tell you anything. Unless your using it as a budgeting tool :-)

Some of the older machines lock-up when the top line hit is hit. Blazing 7's, Majestic Lions and Cherries Jubilee are all examples of this.

It’s not taxed but on some of the really old progressives, any progressive wins have to be hand paid

Why the hand pay at only $1,000?
Some of the older machines lock up at $1,000 or more. But, you don't have to fill out tax forms unless it's over $1199.
