Personally I took it more as indifference, she was just completely done with him and want nothing more to do with him or that life. She left him with nothing but to live the rest of his life with regret thinking back on how sweetly and fully she had loved him all along until his actions ended it all.
The emperor was a small and petty ruler. Even at the end of Ruyi's life, he couldn't show her the love and respect she deserved.

I think he fulfilled her wish to be free of court politics because she was stated to be a woman of her clan instead of associated with the court as Empress. They fell in love before he became Emperor and before her status as a wife (and marriage is when a woman officially and spiritually loses her connection to her own family as she is taken into her husband’s) so that is how she will be remembered instead of as just an Empress.

It is said that insanity is repeating the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome. He betrayed her, disappointed her, accused her, hit her, insulted her, manipulated her, used her and broke her heart again and again yet when he called bygones she was supposed to wipe the slate clean until the next time. I would say Hongli was the crazy one.

I hate that Ruyi had to die to get away from him and his betrayal. Her death was entirely his fault. The nerve of him to erase her from the histories to try and cover up his own shame - disgusting. I hope this haunted him for the rest of his days.
I'm not a historian (though I love ancient Chinese culture), but I believe HongLi erased the Empress as a way of honoring her request to be free of the palace. She also wished it for her son, which is one of the reasons, the 12th prince wasn't selected as the Crown Prince. It was his way of granting Ruyi's wish, even in death.

@Skydancer263 I wouldn't call either show historically "accurate." There is so little information about these people left. Even historians can't say why Ruyi was erased from history.
@@TJRhea the best and most understandable theory as to why Qianlong erased Step-Empress Nara from history was that he was embarrassed by her hair cutting and whatever other actions she committed that angered him to the point of taking away her title and confirming her to her palace. She didn’t have a proper burial. Qianlong ordered her funeral to be handled as and imperial noble consort, but even then her funeral procession was simpler than a commoners funeral.Her casket was made of the cheapest material. All her portraits were either destroyed or edited to not look like her. Any record of her existence was burned. In real life he didn’t even return to the palace when he heard of her death. He continued hunting with the other princes and nobles. He most likely hated her even after death.

I believe that in reality Qianlong hated Ruyi and Ruyi couldn't stand Qianlong anymore. Honestly, I love Ruyi's character, but I believe there was more hate between the two than real love.
Ruyi is one of the most strong harem woman i have ever met. To put up with everything that has happened to her she really needed serious energy. I actually am happy that she died because she can now be free from the emperor.

To be honest, I did feel angry about the way Ruyi gets treated towards the end because the Emperor got brainwashed. However, what I appreciate here is the Emperor's understanding somehow that this is what Ruyi wanted. So he respected her last wishes and erased her records. We, as viewers feel shocked but he also somewhere mentions that this is what Ruyi must have wanted. Although he may have done so in anger, he eventually respected her and did some damage control.

Al final, ella se desvivió arrojándose de lo alto de una muralla cuando se vieron descubiertas todas sus traiciones. De ahí que su hijo nunca fuera considerado como principe heredero. El hijo de ula nara murió muy joven. La historia no tiene registrado su nombre.

Ao imperador so sobrou o amargor na garganta de saber que perdeu o seu amor, não so porque Ruyi morreu, mas em vida ela ja não sentia o mesmo, que sentiu por aquele principe que ele era.
Sinto por no fim Ruyi ter se sentindo tão distante de seu amor, mas entendo que as coisas haviam mudado muito, e as vezes isso deixa um sentimento vazio.
Mas ela ainda foi muito esperta, e amorosa, e guardou em suas lembranças não so os que amava, mas aqueles que tinha afeto mesmo depois que o fizeram algum mau (como Arou')
Sobre a pintura, eu entendo o que Ruyi fez por aquele casal, não fazia sentido deixar vivo algo que não existia mais.
O fim de Ruyi foi triste e poético.
E o imperador mostra ter sofrido ate seu fim, afinal foi culpa dele Ruyi partir assim, e ainda o odeio pois ele sempre foi egoísta e orgulhoso, e aqui no final não é diferente, ele apaga as coisas sobre Ruyi para que ninguem veja sua vergonha! Mas foi inútil, ja que sua culpa o assombrou.

Apparently a Chinese Warlord broke into his tomb and quit unceremoniously dumped his body as well as that of Ruyis successor out. Stole some not alk but some of their treasures . Oddly enough Ruyi was left alone.

Esta historia, es el resultado de la busqueda de este actual gobierno . Han hecho un muy buen trabajo. Nada queda oculto para siempre. El Emperador amó a Ruyi. Por eso, le quito el título de Emperatriz ya que ella no quería serlo. Lo mismo su hijo. No quería que esté envuelto en el palacio. Ella lo quería libre tambien. El cuido todo esos detalles pese al dolor que tenía. Pero, al menos a ultimo momento, respetó su deseo. Claro que la lastimó de mil maneras eso, es una gran pena.
Can somebody tell me ,it said he erased all records of Ruyi then when his daughter and son that was princein princess did he erased her kids.And the son that was alive what happened to him.And did he forbid people from talking about it! How did they fill in the gap of history about Ruyi in this series!
