    Such a welcome light! Not even John of the Cross or Teresa of Jesus have given me such hope and confidence regarding our struggle with the purgative night. Thank you for unearthing for me this literary and spiritual gem. And now I'm off to discover for myself this Professor de Oliveira! Thank you, Matthew--you are a true treasure in this internet-wasteland.

    God bless you too. The sunrise and sunset is a very good analogy for life. I had never thought of it that way, but the sun always rises and it’s a new day. Thank you for this lovely story. It is a good reminder that in life, this too shall pass. Blessings to you on this eve of the Epiphany .👑👑👑

    Real spirituality isn't just about love and happiness. It can be deadly. Not all of us make it to the other side of the dark and narrow path of the long fight against our sins. The only way to make it is to have faith in God. You can do nothing without Him.

      One of the best, and most effective tools to carry us through these daily, hourly struggles is the daily recitation of rosary, whether it's day or dusk, whether we've been good or not-stay faithful to the rosary and it will reduce addictions, depression, anger, doubt, anxiety and confussion. It is the best medicine for the soul. Don't hesitate start now with one of the daily mysteries. pray it daily You need to pray the entire rosary each day for work up to it gradually. Break it up into segments of your day. As you drive to work, rather than being annoyed, or cursing at the people getting in your way pray the five mysteries. Pray another set during your break or on your way back home or When you'r soul reminds you that it is time.
      May God bless you all with faith and discernment.

    Thanks Mr Miller. Which of Professor Plinio’s writings do you recommend the most for the first time reader?

    • @catholicmenspodcast
      @catholicmenspodcast  27 дней назад +8

      Well, I would say his best work is Revolution and Counter-Revolution which perfectly describes the modern crisis. After that, I would say his book on Nobility (Nobility and Analogous Traditional Elites: A Theme Illuminating American Social History).

    Didn't Professor Plinio write around 3000 articles? That means that if you did one video a week on one of his articles until you covered all of them, it would take more or less 57 years to complete the project.

    Thank You Mr Miller.Pls i recently discovered that The author of Sherlock Holmes Arthur Conan Doyle was a freemason i don't know if i can still read sherlock holmes again.

    • @catholicmenspodcast
      @catholicmenspodcast  22 дня назад +2

      Maybe he was, but you don't read his works for moral advice, right? You read them because you're looking for a good mystery that's well written as a legitimate form of entertainment. Compared to the immorality of today, his works are like a breath of fresh air. If he was a Mason, he never advocated for it in his books to my knowledge. If we cancel him, then we're no better than the liberal cancel culture of today. He's one of the best storytellers I have ever come across in literature and everyone should read at least one of his mysteries. At a very young age, he was already revered as an expert storyteller. It's good for the brain and good writing is an indirect fruit of Christian Civilization.
      However, if you can't stand that fact, then don't read him. But if you go by that standard, then there's probably a total of one movie director that wasn't a freemason. That cuts out most of the movies ever made whether the message is good or not. To me it's not enough of a reason, it's more based on the morality of the work involved.
      Hope that makes sense. God bless your discernment.

      Actually, I seem to remember him portraying the freemasons in a nefarious light in "The Valley of Fear." But it's been years since I read it. He was definitely a spiritist though. Although he doesn't really show it in Sherlock.
