So when she started her story she was addressing the live streamers not the speed runner. I'm also assuming she thought she could express her message as a matter of fact, without becoming emotional, but then ended up getting emotional unintentionally. Eventually, the comments from the live viewers came in and addressed her for what she said, supporting her, and another women came out from the side to hug her. Also, I don't remember how long after, but the announcer did address it as well, and everyone clapped for her, including the speeder runner! Which really meant something considering every single second counted in his world record attempt. While it was happening, I feel like it was more sad than awkward, but when presented out if context like this, it obviously comes out cringy lol even then, I don't blame her, I blame awkward gamers around her lol 😄

Verbal communication isn't inherently more valid than any other type of communication, humans have evolved to use other types as well. It's called being a normal person that doesn't whip out a 4 page contract in the bedroom, that kind of thinking is very new and antithetical to human biology throughout our entire history. It's possible to get physical signals wrong, when that happens the answer is verbal communication, not pretending you're fine with it, as many people here seem to think she was doing.
