    My mother and I went on a Disney Cruise for her 70th birthday. Our server completely forgot about our table. We got our drinks late our food late. Everyone would be leaving before we had our meal. They forgot about my mothers birthday cake. Even though I reminded him four times. Finally she got her cake and they sang to her in a empty room. Everyone else that helped us (outside the dining room) was wonderful. Planing another Disney cruise. If I feel ignored again in the dining room, I’ll just ask for another person.

    I brought candy from my home state for my stateroom host and servers and wrote thank you notes and gave it to them. They seemed to like it. I also gave an extra tip at the end of the cruise, but I don't know how they felt about that, because I gave those envelope on the last night/day and they were super busy.
    That name tag tip is SO IMPORTANT! Especially for the survey!

      Love that and I’m sure they appreciate it! The name tag is so important. Great excuse to get pics with the servers too. They are always so nice!

    I like that Disney wants their guests to feel that Disney difference and if you have ever sailed with them, you know exactly what I mean. I do not like the pressure they put on both their cast members and guests with the survey. Disney uses the surveys to achieve industry quality awards, and while I do belive they are well deserved, I don't like that cast members are terrified to be anything but perfect which is an unrealistic standard. I don't like that guests feel pressured to be less honest about their experience because they don't want the slightest imperfection to cost a great cast member their next contract. The survey really doesn't serve to drive improvment because any oportunity for improvment may be severely punished. It is just a very toxic system in my opinion. I love DCL, and the cast, but I hate that survey.

      I very much agree. Mistakes and bad days happen. People get overwhelmed or sick. It shows the bad side of capitalism for sure.

    APPRECIATION TIP- Whenever we encounter a crewmember that truely goes above and beyond we always ask permission to take a photo with them or at least a photo of just their name tag to ensure we spell it correctly on the comment card. A nice way to let them know in the moment they are really appreciated and also help our own fuzzy memories after all the fun.
    Special shout outs to crewmembers Blyton and Gede Rama on the Dream, and Declan, Milos, and Sonya on the Fantasy! 😊

    We just sailed on the Wish and they have digitized the survey, a URL is provided and QR codes to the website are shown on the TVs and your final dinner.

    • @disneeds
      @disneeds  3 месяца назад +1

      Room service can, and they will give you envelopes on the last night for the evening servers and stateroom host you could add cash too. You can also do the tip on the receipt for room service. They just add it to the stateroom charges.

    Trying to remember to get names while I'm supposed to be enjoying my vacation just doesn't work because it's too much like work.
    My last cruise only 1 crew member said their name with any authority, and while we remembered it, it was only because on two different occasions he brought us empty butter dishes.

    Only one bad story about the tipping and survey. When we went on one of our cruises several years ago, we were seated with another family we didn't know. Nice people and definitely more well off than we are. Our server was great and I gave the suggested tip because that's what we could afford but I wrote a long and detailed complimentary review of his skills and service. Now I don't quite remember but it seemed back then that we had the option to give him the survey and tips directly after dinner. I guess our wealthy table partner gave him a heck of a tip because the young man was blown away. He was gasping, speechless, and shaking the wealthy man's hand, laughing, so happy. He opened ours and was less impressed 😂 but I hope my detailed review helped him in his job somehow. Oh well. I did feel kind of bad but at the time that was all we could do. 😬 My suggestion is to request that you are only seated with your own family!!😅

    For the same price of a luxury cruise, I prefer a luxury one and no Royal C are not luxury cruises.

    Where do you leave the comment cards at the end of the cruise?

    • @disneeds
      @disneeds  Месяц назад +1

      You can leave it in the stateroom or they will also have drop boxes outside the restaurants.

      There is only 1 ship from 1 major cruise line that is registered in the United States. Everyone is registered in different countries like Panama and the Bahamas. I can also assume the long strenuous “workers permitting visa process” with immigration to all the crew to every cruise line with every country represented if it was USA based, majority of people have to get working visas based on the ships registry. This out of the states jurisdiction.
