- Bud n' Mary's Marina has partnered up with ICARE, MOTE Marine, and Keys Dives to work on a new coral growth project in the Florida Keys. Our reefs are in trouble and we are all hoping that ICARE's and MOTE Marine's Coral growth projects can help bring the reefs back to the same state they were a few decades ago! In this episode I learn how they plant the coral and then head out with Key Dives and plant some at Alligator Reef! If you want to help out check out www.icareaboutcoral.com or reach out to Key Dives. You can go on one of their dive trips and plant coral yourself!

For a second when I looked at your shirt I thought it said, Stanz Phishing, and I thought, boy has he changed direction.
This is good work. Appreciate you doing it and promoting it.
I wanna say thank you for taking care of the reafs
Love this video Nick, beautiful life under water. Thanks for sharing thus one! God Bless you always
Thank you!! To all of you!! Education along with preservation and conservation is such a key element to the sustainability of our ecosystem’s especially our coral reefs!! All of you are absolutely amazing!! Thank you again #StanzFam and all of those involved in this project!!
👍🏾for playing your part In helping save the corals and overall the environment.❤️💯
Cool to see you getting involved and promoting this program! One of the things I really enjoyed back when I was bumming around in the Keys was the amount of cool things you can just stumble onto...whether it's helping restore coral, or joining a literal treasure hunt (grey area there... but way past the statute of limitations), or even hiring on to run a barge of appliances and other merchandise over to Bimini.
DEA really limits an entrepreneur now days
On our island we grew the staghorn coral suspended mid water first then we planted it. It grows surprisingly fast like that.
Team up with sailfish and shark tagging. Would love to see the process of that and how they track them up and down the coast.
You know I declined the free trip, but I could totally do this! At 61 yrs old, no scuba dives, but now that is something I know I'd like. Awesome Nick!
Education is key. We were diving off alligator reef. Getting ready to drop the mooring bouy and leave. A boat threw their anchor in right on top of the reef. The dive boat captain notified the other boat and offered our mooring buoy. The captain of the other vessel pulled up anchor to move where we were and pulled up a huge sea fan snd some other corals with his anchor. What you are doing to save the reef is admirable but if you have people destroying the coral by dropping anchors on top of it, it will never get restored. Awareness of the fragile nature of corals is a key component to its return and ultimate survival.
Really a wonderful video. Props to you guys for being a part of the partnership. Would love to see a follow up video in a year or so to see how successful this project turns out.
Thanks for giving back to the ocean 💙
Love the drone stuff Capt. Nick!
This is great! Thanks for doing this and spreading awareness!
Good job buddy keep up the great content.
Way to go Nick and the crew who back this amazing cause!!!! This is so cool!!!
This video should be an eye opener for anyone who enjoys these reefs as `it was for me, I didn’t know the worlds reef are dying. Great video Nick.

GOOD VID CAPT..GOOD INFO..
U don’t see Nick in the water too much. Cool stuff. Seems like a good project for robots?
Your Videos keep getting better and better Captain Nick. Keep up the good work I’m sure you are going to be at a million subs in no time!
Nick that was very very interesting I’m so glad there are people out there like you and everyone else taking care of the reef because a lot of people don’t care .You are the Best Thanks
I enjoy all of your videos, and saving the corral is an excellent idea!
Absolutely love this ❤️
It's cool to see the Residents and interested persons of the Florida Keys caring for the ecosystem. It's not all about fishing and diving. Nick is a great ambassador of the not only Islamorada, ut that whole part of the keys.
Good job Nick!
Nice
So beautiful , such beautiful fish 🐟
I loved the video !
great video hope to see the 150 k fishing out
So cool! Glad to see these efforts too! The keys is a real special place, and we need to keep it that way. I’ve been to islands where all the coral is bleached. So sad. Great work Nick!
Good for you all. I won’t get political or weird it is great to see sportsmen / women and volunteers doing what is right.
I live in Michigan and I and so many other hunters are natural conservationists and do what we can to provide wildlife the best resources.
If social media (not yours) would trade in hate and division and concentrate on good we would all be better.
Well said
Just left alligator reef a week ago! Beautiful place! Seen mantas jumping and tons of fish❤️
I like this save the oceans!
Your content is very good I like it.
Underwater footage is stunning, filmed on GoPro?
What a great video, also helping the ecosystem. Keep up the good work, god bless!
I didn’t know you tank dove Nick . This is very cool !
Not very often, only a couple times in 15 years. It was a nice change of scenery
Is there any videos on the progression of the corals?..fantastic video loved the content..hope you do a follow up in a couple of years to see how things are going!!
I dove with Key Dives in July and saw some of the progression and even some wild spawned coral. It was amazing to see
Man I miss those teens for oceans web cams they used to have out on the reefs and stuff I just love this type of stuff
Wow alligator reef is an amazing place I went 2 weeks ago the water was calm and beautiful
What a great idea to give back to the ocean from which give us so much.
This is a very good cause 😁 the coral is good for the eco system! It’s good for the fish ! Good work Nick ! Love it !❤️
up here in NYC we drop subway trains and Jimmie Hoffa's lol
Nick ! Next time you go on a dive you should take
2 or 3 cans of Cheese-Wiz. It'll be fun. Nice work on the coral.
That’s pretty cool I didn’t know they could regrown and transplant coral like that
That’s awesome
That is totally awesome Nick i would love to be a part of this
Where is heck is the Florida key the father of this coral reef restoration? I remember an old guy with a white beard in the Keys who was doing this along time ago. He seems to have been canceled. I can't find any of the videos of him that used to be on RUclips! Where the heck is he? To respect for this pioneer on RUclips... Where is my coral reef inspiration now?
This is awsome
Would love too see deer meat or blue gabe do something like this ?
Greta's not gonna be happy about those plastic zip ties
ok with the corals, but where is hot Jocelyn ?

Does sun tan lotion kill reefs
Certain sunscreen is “reef friendly” they say

I love your channel and everything you stand for. but I am a concerned with the vocabulary of the young lady 6.22 in. Her words have made me think that the coral is not natural to that eco system, as it it has been mutated. I hope this is not the case.
