The song is "I und mei Bua" (My Beau and I) by Carl Millöcker. It's very difficult to find an original "78" of this in good condition. The steel Victrola needles tore up the grooves on her loud exclamations after the yodeling. What a delightful record. What a titanic, creative, generous singer. Hands down, she's one of the greatest contraltos of all time. Her range was enormous. She recorded a low D in Schubert Der Tod und das Mädchen up to a sustained high Bb (actually A#!) in Meyerbeer Ah, mon fils. Her "coloratura" skill was phenomenal. She had a 53 year career onstage.
@@-uda2672 I know. They’re pathetic. They’re also totally wrong. They’ve obviously never listened to her Le Prophète prison scene, Lucrezia Borgia Brindisi, Sapho O ma lyre immortelle, Clemenza di Tito Parto, or her electric Thy Beaming Eyes. I have no time for small people who can’t give credit where credit is due. 🥱
