- The season 3 of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime has been really enjoyable so far, providing everyone with plenty of world details and for the newly released episode 4, it’s actually very important for the overall story as it serves to set up some of the future plot points. That’s why in today’s video, I will not only discuss about the cut content and differences between the episode and the Light Novel, but why the meeting involving Rimuru and his subordinates in the episode was so important.

I don't think I have ever found the pace of Tensura (in the anime at least) to be too slow. The world building is important and realistic (for a given sense of realism) and gives the rest of the show more feeling. After all if we hadn't gone through the experience of building up the city from just a small goblin village we wouldn't have been as devastated when Falmuth attacked. Sure the deaths were a big part of that but because we saw these characters time and again we were able to appreciate them and the loss more. Couple that with seeing the sheer destruction caused with bits of buildings getting trashed and the stalls/shops being wrecked and suddenly the attack takes on more cruelty. We saw (okay not those exact buildings) some of them getting built up from wooden frames all the way to the buildings they are now. When the anime does do fights it does them well, extending some parts into multiple episodes and really making stuff look gorgeous. I can't wait for what they do for the festival and dungeon!

Rimuru alone is by far more than enough to wipe out the church including the demon lord and her non human subordinates....with the fight against the strongest Entity (Luminous) at most taking a few minutes if she is lucky....of cource that is all only true if he goes all out which he won't for 9vols meaning vol15 and we are currently in vol7
the only danger here is his reputation and revealing his skills to the world, both are really important to Rimuru sooooo yeaaaahhhh

You are underestimating luminas too much. It's highly implying in volume 11 that they are around same level.
she has mythical gread weapon and she is true demon lord and with her skilled control over spirittons which still working against current Rimuru give her very high chance against Rimuru.
Her faith and favor skill even increase her computation abilities easily comparable to Raphael.
Volume 15 Rimuru being serious wasn't all it took to do what he did. he is getting stronger with time because of food chain and Rimuru got major boost in volume 14-15 because of evolution of subordinates. And birth of ceil.
There's big difference in power between volume 7 Rimuru and volume 15 Rimuru.

no Luminous barely scratches the Ultimate level and Disintegration and other holy magic is not that big of a thread as it is detactable before it's launched and very easy to dodge and surprise attacks don't work on Rimuru.... Luminous can't go against Ultimate skills they are just too strong for her and Rimuru has 4 of the strongest
the power difference is gigantic
and about vol15
the energy boost from food chain was just an insurance > Rimuru was never low on magicules to begin with, just compared to the true dragons he didn't have much
all that he used in the fight against the two he already has aside from Ciel, but even Raphael could very likely handle it....just maybe not that fast... remember Ciel has also monitoring every battle field and creating Ultimate skills on the fly
his main use was absolute Defense against Velgrynd which didn't need magicules same as Beelzebuth that not only didn't need magicules it also absorbs magicules boosting his magic recovery rate immensely (in a few seconds, if the magicules are all available for the taking he can get back to full stock and if they aren't here he can just use advanced replication and teleport it too a dense magicule location anywhere and let it use Beelzebuth...as far as I know those can handle an US
so yeah Luminous is way out of Rimurus league, same goes for Leon, Deeno and Veldora and Velgrynd are not easy to beat but definitely duable, but not Dagrual, cause of Time Stop

No. Food chain is making his stronger as time goes on. And it was even mention how food chain was increasing rimuru strength without him noticing it, just before fight begin. And Raphael definitely can't handle velgrynd or veldora. He have to counter veldora's attacks as they can't be block by uriel's absolute defense barrier. And countering his attack cost lot of energy which were refilled by food chain in whole fight and making him stronger and stronger.
Ceil was biggest reason for his win. Without ceil he will never defeated velgrynd. Even ceil who's calculation capability was state to be so great that Raphael can't compare to it, was able to seal her for three minutes. Without it uriel would never be able to block her attack. Ceil was able to use his abilities way better than Raphael was the reason for his win.
Even when he tried to eat veldora he was only alive because of infinite regeneration working at full capability and only because energy taken was forcefully absorb and used.
Without ceil or food chain he would never defeated veldora or velgrynd. Also velgrynd also possess space domination so teleporting won't help.
And as for luminas not having an ultimate skill and Rimuru having four. Number of skill dosen't matter what matter is how well you can use them. Rimuru seriously lack experience in fighting which luminas has lot.
One of way to fight against ultimate skill user is mastering one's abilities and super energy control which she has. She is above hinata in swordfighting.
Possessing mythical grade weapon which she also has. She is also true demon lord too.
Current anime rimuru can't block spiriton based attacks and she is master at that. He doesn't have future attack prediction either to make up for lack of experience.
Her calculation capability are around same level Raphael.
Her faith and favor ability boosts her calculation abilities and give her more power.
She is easily same level as rimuru in anime. leon is above rimuru. Dino is also stronger than rimuru.

the amount of energy you have has absolutely NOTHING to do with attack power that is will power and Rimuru has more of that than most in the series at least, though it has been hinted that he has the most will power in the series
You do know that even Raphael can make such accurate simulations that she can predict the future well in advance (it became a skill later but she always at the capability for it-> it was learned, not acquired!)? and is able to predict the movement of spirit particles traveling at light speed. There is no bases to assume that Absolute Defense won't work against a True dragon if its not handled by a Manas like Ciel...that thing is supposed to operable by user without any additional skills so Raphael can definitely use it, Ciel just increased the level of powerful Disintegration attacks absolute Defense can handle, but not very attack is build like that...magicuels for example are pretty much always 100% predictable which includes Veldoras and Velgrynds attacks. If you have noticed Absolute Defense is not used against veldora after the first try anymore, because provability manipulation makes it unpredictable even for Ciel.
In addition in the fight in vol15 Rimuru couldn't just attack Veldora and needed to carefully consume him instead so he sealed Velgynd away. Velgynd wasn't even able to damage Rimuru in the whole fight, her attacks were either blocked or eaten and when she used herself as an attack she made a major mistake by putting all her willpower in attack and not defense which allowed the same ol Beelzebuth to instantly consume Velgrynd , without him getting damaged by her haki (well he was a true dragon at that point so it wouldn't have anyway but still). -> so much for experience of a true dragon, she didn't even understand the basics of the skill that countered her most powerful attack.
about teleporting: Velgrnyd couldn't stop him from teleporting, because Rimuru has a enough will power (and the skill Space Domination) to override Velgrynds will and force the bending of space (food chain does not influence that),but she will know where he will appear, so teleporting behind her doesn't make much sense, but going far away to slurp up magicules does make a lot of sense.
ok so next: number of skills absolutely matters as it is the most important aspect for powerful beings that you have as much diversity in your arsenal as possible because it increases the chance that your opponent can't handle one skill because she/he simply has nothing to counter it with.
next important thing is will power has it boosts you defense and attack power and is sometimes the only way to resist like with Beelzebuth or if you don't have spirit attack nullification will power alone CAN be enough.
next important aspect: is experience is important as well as how to use your skills which Raphael has down as soon as they exited the sealed cave with Veldora (thats what Raphael did for 3 days straight, learning how to use Rimurus skills so that he doesn't have to), but experience can't save you if your skills can't counter that of you opponent or at least let them break through all defenses, but then you have to make sure your opponent can't doge...which no one was able to do for Rimuru after his awakening
for example how much does experience help you if your opponent can manipulate space and you can't?
the last is energy: as long as you have energy, it doesn't matter how much you have, meaning a boost in energy only helps you if you are fighting a battle of endurance and that is only the case when everything above cancels out and the opponents are equally strong then the one who runs out of energy first wins, which is pretty hard against someone who as Beelezbuth
the only thing that is true is that practically every Demon Lord has more energy than him, but that doesn't matter, because they are not on the same strength to begin with....every time EP (-> aka max internal mana level plus mana you have lost in exchange for skills) is mentioned Rimuru always explains why does number don't say anything about a potential fight and who would win.
Tensura is a bit more complex than that to just compare some power level numbers like in Seven deadly sins or what ever and call it a day

the amount of energy matter and it does make attack stronger specially if you concentrate it. It's effectiveness is just increased way more with stronger will.
It only dosen't matter if your fighting style doesn't require much magiculs like in aura fighting style or similar close combat based fighting style. Big attack like what veldora or velgrynd was using need lot of magiculs.
It does matter for rimuru in his fight against veldora. He was dodging his attacks which was easy because there's was planing or anything just spamming his attack and if he can't dodge he them counter attack with same kind of attack. He didn't eat veldora's attacks in that fight.
Those counter attack cost lot of magiculs and Rimuru even comments about how he isn't feeling weaker or low in energy after all that. Then ceil reply that his energy is increasing because of food chain due to evolution of his subordinates. So he didn't feel low on energy. And energy also matter between opponent of same level and skill. For example it was said if leon had more energy than zalario his attack will be able to go past zelario's barrier which is actually better than uriel on that thing.
Aa for velgrynd. Her attacks are definitely capable of breaking uriel's absolute defense barrier without ceil. she is ultimate lifeforms( with strongest willpower) has a ultimate skill which boosts her attack power even more.
Ceil can block her attack because she instantly analyze the attacks with her superior analysis amd computational abilities and customize uriel's absolute defense barrier to block her attack. But even ceil can't block velgrynd's cardinal dragon acceleration attack And only options was to eat it. Beelzebuth was able to eat her attack because ceil evolved "stomach" into "imaginary space" just in battle. And later eat her because she completely drop defense and go full on attack.
Raphael can't block her attack. It wasn't even able to see that Bernie and jiwu before they reveled theme and future attack predictiondidn't even work against them. Raphael has been making itself better all the time by constantly analyzing things.
The current anime Raphael haven't even analyze spiritons so uriel can't block it. And Rimuru isn't stronger than luminas in magiculs amount. Her control over spiritons are one of Highest in series and enough knowledge and experience to face anime rimuru.
Also future attack prediction was learn by analyzing how hinata's compute prediction work. Raphael is better than mathematical so Raphael future attack prediction is way better.
In anime luminas definitely has lot chance against rimuru. But longer the battle better rimuru will become.
Leon definitely has more chance than luminas because he has ultimate skill specialize holy attacks and his entire body become like melt slash when he use it. Rimuru can easily be destroyed. Not killed because of infinite regeneration.
Deeno also has ultimate skills, administration authority, two( +1) very strong mythical grade weapon. He can also beat anime rimuru if he isn't lazy.
I just want them to show the formation of the Black Numbers this season (which is now Highly unlikely 😢)

What I wanted the anime do was to focus more on the holy knight battle and festival instead of the character dialog, the old world building formula from season 1 was probably better than season 3.
Facts..
It feels like filler, it looks like the season won't really start until episode 6 or 7. Slow starts are normal for tensura, but this is going too far. Everything so far could have easily just been 2 episodes. I want them to stop dragging so that we can get to the dungeon fun already.
But none of the things will make sense in s3 if they put everything in 2 episode. Volume 7 is almost meeting with fight starting on only last chapter.
They aren't able to condense everything down to 2 episodes, even currently with 4 episodes, they already had to remove a few key important context
You will never find a wonderful anime with only action, and little dialogue...There will be so much intense action in the later seasons that most people will find overwhelming but looking back at the previous episodes will acknowledge it all makes sense.
