Well, she is straight up lying into your faces about her german prison time.
1. Juvenile Detention and Prison for 24yo and older are strictly separated and in different facilities to prevent abuse and "contaminaton" of juveniles.
2. German prisons are not mixed.
3. In 2012 she was 16, she is a british citizen, so she would have been "deported" to the UK to serve her sentence there.
4. German juvenile detention is therapeutic.
The inmates will have daily group and single therapy sessions, job training, school, sports clubs etc. There is no "lock up" for most of the day. Its a psychiatric dormitory with limitations on your ability to leave the premises.
5. when you dont speak german, you get a translator assigned to you, legal aids etc.
6. you are not forced to speak or learn german.
7. there is no solitary confinement like that ini german juvenile detention and in adult detention only for severe cases of violence/agression against fellow inmates and or guards.
8. there is no forced sedation or medication in german prisons. its just a fucking lie.
9. german prisons have on average a higher standard of living for inmates than UK prisons. UK Prisons are regularly accused of inhumane treatment and inhumane accomodations.
10. to get into juvenile detention in germany, you have to be a severe repeat offender and have to have comitted a major crime like murder, repeated severe violent crime, armed robbery, being a core person in organised drug traffic etc.

Miss La familia is an interesting case study, she didn’t really bring anything to the game we hadn’t seen already and her main point of attention and controversy was her contention with StefLondon that gave her what she was looking for; Slightly similar to Bugzys rise to glory with his beef with Chip. But we’ve seen this before. It’s a blueprint that has proven to work. Her music was decent, she was definitely a better MC, as she said that’s what got her label attention during the height of drill at the time.
But surely this was bound for success?! She played into the male gaze as they all do, she was on the Brum uprising wave that they had at the time, but the nail in the coffin was signing to a major label where her direct competitor was also signed and successful(stef-london). The market already proved that Stef was the labels favorite, so she wouldn’t have seen the Same success, especially considering she was basically making B versions of tracks Nicki had done years ago, which Stef had already exploited in the UK 2 years prior. Not to say it couldn’t work, but the music was GOOD, not GREAT which couldn’t command the same budget and promotions here competitors earned. Flash in the pan signing? Maybe.
The production deal situation is unfortunate, however, it’s never discussed how much sweat equity is invested in an artist before a major label is interested. It would interesting to know what A&R was responsible and what they had worked on before La familia. Usually tells you more than you need to know about how an artist will grow. Maybe there wasn’t an A&R. Who knows. Great interview.

German prisons have tons of programs for inmates to learn new skills and trades, they also have german classes in their prisons!!!
German prisons also have social workers to help all the prisoners and the mixed gender mixed age thing she described doesn’t exist
