8 years later- still one of, if not THE best Rainbow tank on youtube. I dont get how Kumara is able to grow Tri Parta in there..my Rainbows devoured it and also nibble on star grass and other soft foliage plants.
That's a great tank. I was wondering how many fish were in there. How long the tank is. I have 1 125 gallon that's been running for 20 months. It also has 3 Dennison Barbs, A red tail shark, flying foxes and 12 Rainbow fish. Not nearly as plants, but I have more than 50 plants. The 125 is 6 feet long. I hope to put up a video one day/ Just a super tank. Now I really want that 11 foot 370 gallon tank.
Hi I use T5 lighting over this tank (ATIs), but I only keep the photoperiod for 6 hours a day. I dose using dry ferts KNO3 and KH2PO4 on one day and then Trace elements on the other for 5 days a week. Substrate is ADA aqua soil at the back, but Tropica substrate overlaid with fine black gravel at the front. I do dose co2 using 2x5kg cylinders injected through 2x co2 reactors and passed through the external filter out take hoses.
glad that someone else sees it as well :) beautiful tank anyways! can you tell me what substrate, ferts, and co2 you use? and also what lights and how long you keep them on? thanks!
Hi, love your tanks. They've been an inspiration to us. We have a 5 foot long 150 gallon rimless planted tank with rainbows, ottos & denison barbs. Anyways- a question: The Denison barbs are about 3 1/2 inches now. Two have developed bright yellow spots on the anal fin (just like on tail), and two have no spot. Done some internet research and can't find if this is a sexually dimorphic trait. I noticed on your videos you have some with the spot, and others without. Do you know if means M or F?
Hi, thank you for the comments. If i have inspired anyone, thats just great. :) Funny enough I have enquired the same thing on fish forums in the past and just like you have found, there isnt any information about. What I do notice is that the fish with the yellow spot on the anal fin and the ones with out do seem to occasioanlly case each other around the aquarium, sometimes making T formation and their colours change on the body. However it could be that it might just be colour variation.
I know 8 years is a very long time for tropical aquarium fish..but I have the same type of setup in my 240 and wondering what age the fish reached eventually? How long did they age out is another way to put it I guess.

Mine dont. Clown loaches, yes. A mated pair of silver Angelfish glide around a 240. I do want to add more to the ten various Rainbows. No hurry.
Yes,you are right. I added three!

This video certainly inspired me to take this group of fish seriously, breeding and raising them. :)

Thats a very nice aquarium
Yeah I have noticed that many have them too. :)
looks amazing!!!!
This isn't the 240 gallon you posted earlier. It looks to be taller, wider, and maybe longer.
No, this one is larger. Its gross volume is 1600 litres.
@@kumarsa108 Beautiful tank. You've combined the lush natural aquarium with fish that most aquarist want to look at..and in numbers.
Amazing tank!
Hello,
the measurements are 2.44m x 0.93m x 0.7m high.
beautiful tank
masterpiece aquarium! How do you achive the height with the plants at each end, bogwood?
Yes. You attach bolbitis and java ferns to driftwood.
You can, it just takes practice and time. Keep at it. :)
sick tank
thank you :)

Hi, the purple ones are Melanotaenia picta (used to be labelled M. Aru II).
