The progression of oh my gods was gold
The kid Gigi bothered me too when this episode aired. As a parent myself now, it’s because she interjects into the conversation in an almost adult way and she’s like 3 or 4. Most kids in this situation with new people would either be giddy and interrupting and talking a mile a minute about kid stuff OR being shy, hiding, painfully quiet.
some kids really do act like gigi.
She's not really around new people though. She would be pretty accustomed to Lorelai certainly at this point maybe even Rory from before Christmas.

It makes me happy to see you laugh at April so much bc I love her and so many people in the fandom hate her, it makes me sad.
I never understood why people hated April so much. I liked her character, I just hated what the writers did with her story. The way they used her as a plot device to rip Luke and Lorelei apart was so frustrating to watch. Those two had made a lot of progress with their relationship and as soon as they brought April in, it all fell apart out of nowhere.

I wouldn't say April is the reason they split but moreso when April came into Luke's life, he started shutting loreli out
Luke was horrible to Lorelai during that time. I started to lose interest in that ship with his behavior towards her after the vow renewal, but he became so much worse after April, like it was an excuse to be the worst person he could be. I just couldn't ship them after that.
I hated Luke so much during this time period. I didn’t hate April like so many fans do because the breakup of Luke and Lorelai was not her fault. It was completely on Luke. I also thought it was creepy that the writers made Anna and April so much like Lorelai and Rory.

Season 7 of Gilmore Girls, I might be in the minority, but I did like this season, there is a lot in it I love, dare I say. The only thing I HATE is that Lorelai and Chris are together, and got married... But, besides those two....I love the story lines with pretty much everyone else that happens.

You know, I can fully understand your reaction to Christopher based on the episodes you've seen. But I gotta say, I didn't hate Lorelai and him together. It wasn't The Right Relationship for them, but they did have a certain chemistry and important shared history, and I think that was kind of the point narratively. Lorelai needed to explore that path of What Might Have Been to find out for sure that it wasn't meant to be. A part of her had always hoped her daughter's dad could really be a proper part of their family and I think she would have always wondered about it if they didn't have a chance to give it a try.
As long as she comes to her senses, all is well.

I feel for Lane though. The writers did her do dirty.
Okay, actual comment. I am full on team Logan, and I think Christopher was the rightest guy for Lorelei (until the plot inexplicably needed him not to be), but I HATE when people say that Logan was Rory's Christopher. Aside from being blond and rich with daddy issues, Logan and Christopher aren't the same person. Rory and Lorelei, despite being "besties" **coughWAAAYtooinvestedineachothercough** are ALSO not the same person. Rory and Logan grew TOGETHER. I also love that Logan doesn't put Rory on a pedestal like her other boyfriends. He was good for her and she was good for him. I will forever hate the lazy trope of writers trying to make the kids' story repeat their parents' story bar for bar.
Also, still forever begging you to cover season 5 episode 8 "The Party's Over". It's got Dean. It's got Logan. It's got diamonds. It's got Emily being her very most Emily.
I wouldn't say Jess put her on a pedestal. I just think him being the "bad guy" made anything she did seem angelic. Like you can't call out someone for petty theft if you self have commited bank robbery. The second he turned his behavior around, he called her out.
I wouldn’t say they grew together. Logan grew when he met Rory because you loved her, and he wanted to be someone worthy of a girl like her. She, however, did the opposite she became more like who he was at the start of their relationship. She became less responsible, less sure of her self less capable and sort of became exactly like all the other women in that world who are just kind of accessories to the man.
Rory was good for Logan. Logan wasn’t good for Rory.

Which she needed.Let me be clear, I'm not saying they made each other BETTER, but they definitely made each other more INTERESTING. Rory and Logan are awful on their own, but their awfulness blends into the most watchable ship on the show. Also, I will hate Jess forever for the party incident.

She kind of took school for granted she likes doing the big, extravagant things, and that was all more influenced by Logan than anything else. I don't hate Christopher, and I think before Luke and Lorelai i would have been all for Lorelai and Christopher. But you can't build up Luke and Lorelai for 4 seasons and then break them up in the most annoying way and then expect us to accept Christopher especially with such a speedy wedding... no thank you.
