  • The latter part of a solo ride from Trento to Molveno, after Waze decided to ruin my trip to Monte Bondone. Nice roads en fun ride though.
    Also, 2 malfunctions of the quickshifter/TSA.
    Also also, speedo acting weird.

    Great video!
    And what is the brand and model of your tank bag? It appears to be solid in construction, rather than soft; am I correct? How do you like it? Thank you.

      Hi! It is indeed rigid rather than soft. It's a Givi TanklockED. Very happy with it because you can lock it to the bike with a key, and you can lock the zippers together. So it is relatively safe to leave behind on the bike. (it is rather expensive though)

    how many miles have you done before you got quickshift and tsa problems, I love the look of this bike, meant to be buying one saturday but not sure if i should just cancel and get a vstrom 650, bit more boring but triumph reliability is a big ? to me

      Hi there, I know that seeing stuff like this in videos online can be worrying, however I must say this bike has been very reliable. The bike had a good 6000kms/3800miles before I had the quickshifter installed. And I think at the time of this video it had 2500kms more than that. I'm not sure why on that day I had two malfunctions but it never occurred after that. (It might have been a fault on my end). I've ridden the 850 for 6000 kms since I got it 3 months ago and I am very happy with it. (video coming soon). The looks, the comfort (both ergonomics and suspension/chassis, even on very shitty Tuscan roads), the engine(!), the sound(!) are all fantastic. Only downside I could mention is just when you're riding fast on twisty roads you don't get a lot of feedback from the front tire, but from what I hear that's the same on all ADV's. Reliability wise, (like I said I only have it for 3 months/3800miles) but it's been very good to me. I'm a Belgian resident but I'm in the Italian Dolomites for a couple of months and I should have had a service 2000 kms ago🙃. I still ride it (fast) because I don't want to miss out on the beautiful surroundings and roads, but the bike just doesn't seem to mind. So the little experience I do have with it it seems very reliable. And like I said the quickshifter has worked every time since. I hope this is helpful to you 😉

      @@abikersdiary6087 think I’ll go for it, thanks for the detailed reply :) guy I’m buying from is selling it for 8850 gbp but has heated grips, handlebar cover, quick shifter and tank pad and the bike only has 300 miles on so it’s a bit of a steal at that price, I’m super excited

      @@BodybuildingSteve sounds like a good deal, heated grips and quickshifter are exactly the optional extras you want😜 enjoy the bike😉

      Ho usato un quad lock case e come il pezzo di montaggio di base che ho attaccato con alcune fascette. Tuttavia devo aggiungere che la fotocamera del mio telefono è morta da quando ho montato il telefono lassù. Ho controllato e il parabrezza trema piuttosto forte alla velocità, quindi potrebbe non essere la migliore idea...
      penso che vendano un supporto vero e proprio destinato al parabrezza, che potrebbe funzionare un po' meglio

    How you put the phone on windshield?

    • @abikersdiary6087
      @abikersdiary6087  Год назад +2

      I used a quad lock case, and like the basic mount piece which I attached with some zip ties. However I must add that my phone camera died since I mounted my phone up there. I checked and the windshield is shaking rather hard at speed, so it might not be the best idea...

    • @abikersdiary6087
      @abikersdiary6087  Год назад +1

      i think they do sell an actual mount which is intended for the windshield though, that might work a bit better

    I don't know if it's the POV, but you don't seem to lean much. How do you feel the ride was compared to the film? Thanks for sharing.

      Hey thanks for watching, you're right I don't lean much. Maybe a bit more than the video suggests but in general I don't really. As I explain in a video that's coming later this month I don't always feel very confident in the front end. Riding rather safe than sorry I guess😉
