Great video! I used to live in Half Moon Bay on a sailboat. This brought back good memories for Me.In 2005 I move to nevada just out side of Winnemucca. I lived in Half Moon Bay form 1989 to 2005. The place become Too expensive to live there.

What a lovely film. Terrific job! I am a proud resident of Half Moon Bay, and while my wife and I were some of the people who may have displaced locals when we moved here in 2012, I'm proud to say that we're trying to be very involved on our local causes and politics, and to help to take care of this magnificent place that we call "home". Thank you for capturing these great stories.

This is an excellent narrative with a good tempo and a balanced but fair presentation of gentrification. Thank you for doing this work. This kind of work is so important today.

Bought tears streaming, lived in Montara from 82 to 97 and it was the best part of my life. your video really hit the heartstrings, there is no place like the HMB coast side. Sadly the cost of living chased us out to survive. I was back about 7 years ago and it broke my heart to see how it changed and how it wasn't the same and some of the changes weren't so cool, but it was good to see some of the old-timers still there and keeping it alive.

Brian nailed my sentiments. Stay in the fight. Keep the coastside open and beautiful.

I've just watched some of the coolest people on the planet. Total feel good video. Thank you very much........I started surfing myself way back now in 77/78, I can't remember now. What I do know and still know is that " it's a great feeling, one on one with the ocean".

Aww watching this makes me so nostalgic for HMB. I went to high school there class of ‘91 and my folks still live in Montara. I need to go visit soon! It makes me sad hearing Brian & the others talk about the changes & politics... but so glad people like them are there fighting for the land. I also have so many memories there❤️ great video!

I grew up with Overfelt and Darren surfing, skating, and biking (67-90). It was a magical place to grow up, but now living there has become unattainable. It's a very complex issue of limited resources, space, coupled with a huge demand of people wanting to live there.

Grew up in Stockton California but spent so many weekends coming to pescadero/ hmb. Love the area and I’m convincing my parents to buy a house there as we speak. They feel at home there !

I grew up in San Luis Obispo ca from 65 on. Pop 34000 Then cal poly came popular and the pop went to well over a mil and couldn’t afford to live there Moved to los Oslo’s and loved the sweat pea fields. Went back a few years ago and there’s a Costco, a Home Depot and no farm fields anymore. Soooo sad.

I grew up in a small town that's located within a 30 mile radius of New York City. It's population was less than 2,000 and I too got my drivers license approx 1971. Nothing as stayed the same including this little enclave of humans living within a half hour or so drive of NYC. It's population is now doubled but it's still that unique little enclave. Just not the same as it used to be..........in many ways thank G-d!
