The Nine Levels of Power are: Rin - fortification of body and mind Hyō - energy direction Tō - harmony with the Universe Sha - healing self as well as others Kai - premonition of danger Jin - knowing others' thoughts Retsu - mastery of time and space Zai - control of the elements of nature Zen - enlightenment
Strength of mind and body, mental strength is important goal, we should keep our mind concentrated on martial arts knowledge or what will make it stronger.
I really hate the fact that movie lists don't place this as the best ninja movie ever, because it definitely is. It is the one true god of all Ninja movies because it doesn't even try to pretend to be anything but the pure cheese that all ninja movies truly are. The height of all things ninja was the 80's ninja craze, and this was THE 80's ninja craze movie, period. That makes this this the #1 ninja movie of all time. If you were a kid growing up in the 80's, and you were into the ninja thing like I was, I guarantee you didn't love another movie more that summer -- this was it for you, just like it was for me. Black Belt magazine and Stephen K Hayes books sat right next to it, or you were only flirting. Me? I mowed lawns and earned myself a ninja suit, and I sprung for the tabi, too!
@@DBSG1976 Was that the Ninja magazine Richard Bussey was an editor for and advertised practically every Ninja book published in the US and Japan at the time. Went out of business in the 1990s?
Between pretending to be The A-Team and G.I. Joe, my friends and I would be ninjas. Nothing better than taking a t-shirt and using the neckhole as the eye-slit for a ninja mask . This scene in particular cracks me up because we all learned the hand gestures.
For those wondering about Franco Nero (originally, Francesco Clemente Giuseppe Sparanero - who portrays Angolan Bush War veteran Cole), he was also Val Verde drug lord/dictator General Ramon Esperanza in Die Hard 2 roughly a decade later - amongst numerous roles.
Oh, by the way... those hand symbols he's doing? Straight out of Stephen K. Hayes' chapter on Ninja meditation (forget which book). I used to do it out in the back yard exactly as taught, and it was honestly amazing - like self-hypnosis. Anyway, it's accurate.
Larry Hama of GI Joe fame totally lifted the rivalry between Cole and Hasegawa and used it as the basis of the rivalry between Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow.

Identifying with the thoughts of the opponent with our own mind is a shinobi ninja belief.

When I was a kid in the mid 80's, they had Ninja magazines at supermarkets and book stores.
@@DBSG1976 🤛👍
Did we just become best friends?

This is one of my favorite ninja movies. Only the Shinobi no Mono movies rank higher. 😉🙏
This is the best Ninja movie of them all. Solid story, solid fighting, solid dialogues.
The important thing to take away from this scene is that the student listens attentively and wants to learn
The 12yo me when I saw this wanted to be a ninja, now when I watch it again the 52yo me still wants to be a ninja. :)
Id rather be samurai.

Most famous for playing Django.....surely.
And he had no martial arts training, all the fight scenes in this film were doubled by karateka Mike Stone.
I grew up knowing him as Django primarily. He was more of a cameo in Die Hard 2. He also cameo'd in Django Unchained in the mandingo scene.
*Sensei:* I will now ask you about the 9 levels of power, BUT... in random order!
*Franco Nero:* FFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU...
Cats are honorary Ninja. The have all these attributes at birth. God knows what he's doing.

When I was a kid in the 80's, part of pretending to be a ninja was learning these hand gestures!
Do you perhaps remember now which book it was?
Great Movie.
A true ninja must never be seen . They live at Koga and Iga mountains.
Gonna learn the nine seals to impress that cute kunoichi I know. This is the path of the shinobi.
Did anyone ever notice a decapitated head there??
There's enough cheese in this movie to give king Kong a heart attack but dam if I didn't enjoy it as a kid.
Amazing
Franco Nero looks a lot like Terence Hill here.
Funny how the main character was actually dubbed lol
As corny as it is. This is one of my fav movies
I miss the scene in which Hasegawa objects to Cole being made a ninja.
He is no ninja!!!
Larry Hama of GI Joe fame totally lifted the rivalry between Cole and Hasegawa and used it as the basis of the rivalry between Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow.
