Like the fact that you do cultural tours and sight seeing tours on your trips and don’t mind paying for it, a lot of you tubers just show you the beaches, fishing areas and bush walks over and over which I understand is because they are on a budget, but you have to think I may never get back here again so gotta tick it off, so good to see you showing boat trips, little towns, tours etc, much appreciated and also in knowing how much they cost.
I think that’s why people enjoy our channel sometimes, we’ve broken away from the normal RUclips travel Australia experience and are doing some of the things that most one time loppers will also be doing. Thanks for your comment though, it’s nice to know someone is appreciating the different way we like to do things 🥰🥰🤙🏻
We put flyscreen over our front grill when we went through a plaque of locusts in south west NSW. We have bought a car bra now. Another great vid guys.

If you wanted to experience hot, hot springs. Douglas hot springs has areas you can't even go in it's too hot. I remember sitting where it's cooler. Then feeling a definate hot passing by your body or a definate cold but not mixed. Katherine hot springs & Mataranka hot springs are more effective in the dry season (NT winter) if you go early in the morning as the sun comes up, you can see the steam rising through the sun's rays. And you notice the waters warmth as its chilly in the early morning for locals.
Yea we have been told this now a couple of times for Katherine. We experienced true hot springs at Innot in QLD 🥵 some places you couldn’t touch the ground or water it was so hot!
I have a daughter with a disability although an adult has mobility problems. We gave the gorge trip a miss because of the walk but seeing you do it encourages us for our next trip as all of your visits with Jack do.
Oh wow Terry that’s awesome, I’m so glad we can show you what is pram/mobility friendly! If you park in the lower carpark it’s not far at all and very achievable. Definitely come when you pass through Katherine, it’s a great trip. They allowed people to stay at the first boat if the second was too far also.
It kinda looks like the dji has just as good video or a bit better than the Go-pro, but the audio sounds better with the Go-pro. I'm still shocked at the prices of stuff there$. I always thought the US was high, but in the tourist parts everything is high no matter were ya at. Good video and good adventure!! yall be safe and wash the car mate!! 🦘
I agree in this episode and without being a sound engineer it would be hard to perfect. Turns out I have a few settings wrong 🙈 Lots of things are expensive here if in a tourist area. We’re not even visiting in tourist season either 😱😱
@@rorko72 we’re over in WA now, we didn’t do much of the NT due to closures/wet etc (we have also been a couple years ago in the high season!) we’ll be back to do it all though 😁👌🏻
@@BigOzExplorers Yeah nice, we loved cruising down the coast of WA, Broome, Eighty Mile Beach, Pardoo, Port Headland, Karajini, Exmouth, Coral Bay, Denham, Jurien Bay with the Sea Lion tour was epic, there’s also a good cave you can walk through inland a bit which is worth a look. The Pinnacles well worth the drive thru... I’m sure you’ve don them all before... can’t wait to go back again one day.
Hey guys 👋🏼 Just watched this one 👍 Love it! The dust storms are a bit freaky until you get a handle on them. We went through one of the worst in Dubbo ! It was bigger than Uluru!! The bloody Locusts are def a pain. You need some mesh rolled up with some alli strips on it so you can clip it on when you come across the Kamikaze buggers. I LOVE MY SEAWEED AS WELL !! Some yumm for the tum. 👍😉 Looking forward to Jack’s ep 🤗🍻
Think we might fit a ‘secret mesh’ behind the grille. Haven’t come across it too much since and we tend to slow down now so it’s not so brutal lol... Chris said seaweed is life 🙌🏻😂

Thx for the vid, many fond memories of Edith Falls as my parents ran a kiosk there for a number of years. Was interesting when the floods came through, the water level you saw add another 3-4m of water, was interesting times! Still have the pics somewhere. Rarely got crocs in there which the rangers took care of, mostly small freshies which left you alone. Miss the NT was there for about 8 years.
We did see the kiosk but didn’t stop in that day. Such a great spot. We weren’t too worried about crocs, it seemed pretty under control and as you say, freshies are alright ☺️🤙🏻 That would be insane seeing the water so high!! 😬 what waterfall?!
When travelling later from Katherine (after your Darwin) to WA - stay at Timber Creek and do the Victoria River Cruise; skip Halls Creek and stay at Mary Pool free camp and the Fitzroy River Resort before going to Kununurra.

Yes 100%! We love our van and it’s withstood everything we have done for 12 months living in it full time really well. We have had a couple of wear and tear issues (normal for every van stuff) but structurally speaking, build etc, it’s fantastic. 🤙🏻

Use your pocket in pro mode, 4k at 48 frames and when you process it process in 24 fps. That is what we find not too bad. They are excellent once you work out what works for you.
We’ve got it down pat now, Edith falls etc was the very first time we had used it with not much prior practice. Footage is mint now 😁😁 thanks for the tips!
Another great video guys. 🤩 My list of future places to visit is expanding quickly as I watch all of your adventures. And I think you've got a future geologist there in Jayda. I recently added a DJI Pocket 2 to my camera kit. I'm still getting used to it but it certainly catches some nice footage. 🙂
She wants to be a scientist or. At at this stage, I think rocks are a hobby for now! Don’t let the gimble put you off, it took us a couple of weeks to get the camera perfect but worth it now. Use the PRO mode and change the sound settings (won’t sound washed out like ours did... learning every day lol)
Yes we heard that about the Nullarbor. We didn’t realise it was every park in NT, I thought just Kakadu and Uluru but they are federal parks... our mistake! We did get the drone license though the following week 🤙🏻🤙🏻

And as a side note, I lived in Katherine for a couple of years. There are some amazing helicopter tours you can do that will take you to private multi-tier waterholes that flow in to each other. Absolutely stunning photos to be had even without a drone, and the aerial perspective that it gives you is mint, particularly in the wet season.

Those storm cells are intense. Normally 10-15 ks wide, come hard and come fast. Enjoy the dry heat while you can. Ain't gunna be like that in Darwin. Surprising how 300 ks can change humidity so much. Get your drone license. C'mon, more drone.

Hey Louis, I’d say your concerns are what we call Aussie lingo, it’s slang that had absolutely no religious meaning whatsoever. Sorry if it offended, we’re too bloody laid back here hey! 🇦🇺 We go into a bit more detail in the Q&A part 2 but to be honest it’s just personal preference. The patrol is much more luxurious feeling and better value for money. If you ever test drive both, you’ll see what we mean. Still, it’s just personal preference. ☺️🤙🏻

Those locusts are more than a mess on your paintwork, if they are thick they can quickly clog your radiator and potentially cause overheating too - it's a good idea to fit some sort of bug screen in front of the radiator grill!

We missed the Kimberleys and lots of other bits due to the off season also, but 4 months on the road was awesome.

We go into a bit more detail in the Q&A part 2 but to be honest it’s just personal preference. The patrol is much more luxurious feeling and better value for money. If you ever test drive both, you’ll see what we mean. Still, it’s just personal preference. ☺️🤙🏻

Thats why i was curious and i thougt diesel was much more available than fuel but you covered that in Q and A no 2.

Those locusts are more than a mess on your paintwork, if they are thick they can quickly clog your radiator and potentially cause overheating too - it's a good idea to fit some sort of bug screen in front of the radiator grill!
