Hey Luc, great video! I preferred the old dashboard to view all of my clients, I don't understand Google, It was fast and easy to view all profile. Thank for the tips :)
The rational is based on the fact that 90% of all business listings are just stand alone as opposed to agency running multiple listings. It allegedly makes it easier for users with a single listing to manage it and of course for google.
Just when you get comfortable- they change it!

This is a GREAT video and helped me a lot.I have 1 question. How do I change the small icon picture at the top left next to 'Your Business On Google'?
The icon is pulled from the gmail account you use to login to your dashboard. To change it log into your gmail account, click on the cog in the top right hand side corner then click on all settings. Scroll down until you get to "my picture" then change it
Thanks for going over the new update. Just like many others have commented the new interface is terrible for an agency trying to manage multiple listings. I’m making it work but it’s a pain. I wonder if there is an third party option that can make posting updates a little more intuitive ?. Well anyway thank you again.. love the breakdown you did in this video.

Once again, Luc, excellent video. I miss the old interface. I was wondering if there was a way or hack to change the Google default photos selection/slideshow. We can see these default selection by going in the "see new photo" section. I constantly upload new photos, and I will expect Google to show them in my google business (web or map) listing chronologically to their upload order...but it doesn't. Google keeps displaying the same selection. Merci!

As a manager of multiple GB profiles I absolutely HATE the new interface!!! What a pain! Not straightforward at all unless you are a single business (maybe). It feels so extremely restrictive!
Also dislike that I can't be navigating in GPS and access my GBP such as when I get a review and want to respond.
Seems like they rolled back time with these choices. Very painful!!

Hi Wendy. You can add the free website from Google if you want to. I generally don't bother unless my client doesn't have a fully fledge website and is not willing to invest in one

I need a little direction on making my business visible to the public. My new business profile says ‘only visible to manager’ looking in advance settings to lift that. Looks a little tricky to activate it.

How can you add another user to all locations of your business. All my locations are under the same account, but I'm only able to add another user to each location individually.
I think you'll need to do this from the old dashboard. You can access it by trying to update the free website option
Hi. I'm hoping you can help with a new problem. I changed addresses and Google Maps is pulling the wrong street photo. It's a dingy house near our building. I work with clients in their home not at the address. How do I fix this? Do I hide the address? Or is there a way to correct the street view?
Got it! If you go to customers' homes instead of having them come to you, you're usually considered a service area business. In this case, it's best not to show your address. Instead, you should hide your address and let people know the areas you serve. This way, your listing won't display your address, and it'll show a map with a red boundary indicating where you travel to.

Hello Luc, is there a way to change the description next to my business name? I can't seem to find where to revise. It currrently reads Ortiz & Co. - "Event & Meeting Planning" of which I want to edit. I can't find where to. Thank you for your great videos!! Amazing help and support!!!
Just sign into your listing and click on edit info. You will be able to edit your details from there

Hi, thanks for the brilliant video, the only thing I’m struggling with is on the old dashboard I could edit or delete photos from my Google listing. I sold my previous business and moved to a new site with similar work so I just kept my original account and changed the address, now I wish I started fresh. If I delete this account will it let me start a new one? Many thanks
Hi Alex, if you've kept the old listing then you should change the address to the new site. Much more benefitial then starting a fresh listing

I own an auto detailing business in Draper, UT (a suburb of Salt Lake City, Utah with a population of 60,000). I detail from a shop at my home, so I've listed my address on my Google Maps listing. I feel like this is limiting my marketing to people in Draper only and not surrounding suburbs in the area. I offer pick up and delivery and would like to be seen by people in surrounding cities outside of Draper. To do this, should I delete my Draper address on my Google Maps listing and just select services areas for Draper and surrounding cities instead? Or will this hurt my rankings?
I would definitely keep the address on the listing since this is where you operate from but I would also add service areas since you also meet customers at their homes. Service areas don't help you listing rank though. To rank outside your immediate vicinity you'll have to create content on your site for the locations you want to rank for hoping you will show up in organic results. Hope this makes sense.

The reporting as indeed been changed as well. The insight dashboard you now have access to had been rolled out for a while but has now been made the default one.
Can you please help me!! I have a google business profile. The issue is that there is a description that I didn’t write. I did write a business description but I did not write another one that pops up on top with the business information but I would like to delete! Help thanks you
Just login to your profile. click on edit profile and modify your description
I've been unable to delete a product we no longer offer. In the products section, delete is not an option I can find.
Can you not see the recycling bin at the top of the product when you click onto it?

6 months in and it hasn't improved one bit, it is 100% the most foolish move google has ever done.

Yes. If you have uploaded these pictures yourself just login to your business profile, from your panel click on the cover photo. This will open a pop up with all your images. Select the one you want to delete. In the top right hand side corner click on the recycle bin.
Thanks for this video Luc! Is there any way to create a short video about creating a profile for a client and best practices in doing so? If I am having trouble determining the best method as I currently am operating as a freelancer and do not have access to the agency platform at this time. Any help would be great!
Hi Karl. This is what I normally do. I create a new google account (and try to use the name of the business as the email address such as businessname@gmail.com). I then claim a listing for the client's business using this newly account. I will use the same email address to set up Google analytics, Search console and any other google properties so everything sits under one roof. I will then set myself up as a manager of the listing. This way I have total control over everything without having to need and ask the client for his personal details. If he ever wants to take over the account or use someone else to manage his listing all I need to do is provide him with the access details to the account and remove myself as a manager.

This feature has been very buggy lately and it looks like Google might be removing it. Best option is to raise the issue with the Google Business Community support here: support.google.com/business/community

Hi, Google has removed the option to add videos to business profile. Do you know of a way to add videos to the business profile. They used to have a feature to upload videos less than 30 seconds but now every time a try to upload a video it says only photos can be added only. Can you please make a video on this regard and maybe if there is a way to still upload videos, thank you
Go to the old dashboard by trying to update the google free website. This will take you to the old dashboard. Click on the add photo on the left hand side menu. From their you'll be able to add videos

Unless you go back to the old dashboard you can't do it via the new interface for now.

How would one go about adding multiple branch locations to a business listing? It doesn't appear to be straightforward from the profile page. We operate as an on-site services, so not sure if this limits the ability to do this? Help would be appreciated.

From the drop down select “add a new business profile” and claim each location

@@rankingacademy lol, nice non-comital response... but I also understand I did not give any detail as to why the new interface is so bad. Four of the most important factors to consider in UI/UX design are 1: minimizing clicks for common actions, 2: Presenting features in logically consistent ways, 3: minimizing visual clutter, and #4 creating realistic expectations between input and output. For #1, this interface is about as bad as can be by forcing users to begin their experience by typing in the name of their business with a google search. While this may not be very different for a person who manages a single property than trying to look up Google My Business was as a first step (assuming no bookmarks), it is a much less convenient interface for people who manage multiple sites, and are trying to do common and repetitive tasks like running down their list of clients for routine checks and maintenance. When you have a landing page, or even a dropdown of clients, it provides 1-click functionality and gives an organizational element to work from that the new system is lacking. Organization should be interacted with before function, not the reverse. For #2: Logically similar features are scattered around between 4 different control areas that are presented in 4 very different ways. It takes mental energy for a user to toggle between understanding features and information that is presented in different ways. When you have different but similar features scattered like this, it is more mentally fatiguing to search for a feature you are looking for. This makes users less happy while they use your product, even if they don't understand why. For #3: Making the whole google search part of the interface puts a lot of "background noise" around UI features which again is more mentally fatiguing. For #4: While I do understand that "live editing" is a growingly popular UI style, not every application benefits from live editor style UIs. Live Editing is best for unstructured, visually consistent data, but Google uses so much structured data, A/B layout, and responsiveness, that the old method of separation of presentation and data does more to avoid false expectations of outcomes. The old system needed better previewing features perhaps, but moving the editing too the preview both disrupts the preview and creates false expectations about it. When I say the person who designed it deserves to be fired, I mean that if a development team working for me got all the way to production and depreciation of the old system without addressing these sorts of issues first, I would literally fire the project lead.

I want to add Instagram and LinkedIn accounts to my Google Business profile, but I don't know how.There is no edit option in ''Profiles'' section.
