I visited Wonsan in 2019, it was definitely the prettiest city that I saw in the DPRK. There were baskets of flowers hanging all over the street next to the seaside, and delicious fresh seafood to eat. I also went to the children's camp mentioned, it was very impressive, I would've loved something like that as a kid. The only downside was the hotel, the staff were weirdly creepy, they'd stare at us constantly and anytime we went anywhere in the hotel they'd pop out of nowhere and ask us where we were going. They also seemed very against us using the lobby bathroom for some reason even though it was a perfectly normal bathroom. I just thought is was weird because none of the other hotels I stayed at on my DPRK trip were like that at all, the staff was always lovely. I'd absolutely come back to Wonsan someday but hopefully be able to stay in one of the new resorts instead!
Can you do a video about the history of the friendship of the GDR and the DPRK? They were one of the foremost states in building ties with Korea and maintained a great friendship!
Yes and vietnam ! Though I think DDR Cuba Vietnam and Laos had their own kinda thing going on which would be very interesting to explore in itself! An idea for a different channel perhaps..!
In the coming future they will spend effort in develop these cities like Wonsan, Samjiyon, Chonjin, hope that the self guided tours will be approved after the pandemic.
That was a really interesting and informative video. Thank you! The only downside was that it made me wish to go to DPRK even more. (My bank balance and age make it impossible!) The beach looked great and it was nice to see the people enjoying themselves so much!
This comment doesn’t really associate to this video but could you please tell me what song it is in the mass games video in the introduction from 0:37 till the end of introduction section?

The north uses the McCune Reischauer system for romanisation - the south used to use it too, until they switched to their current system - the DPRK maintains the older system. So, Chosun/Joseon, Pyongyang/Pyeongyang, Kaesong/Gaesong etc
You said DPRK and Korea as if they’re different 😂 the DPRK is Korea. North Korea and South Korea are BOTH Korea. North Korea uses the McCune-Reischauer Romanization of Korean while South Korea uses the Revised Romanization. Example: 🇰🇵: 안녕하십니까 제이름은 목인운입다. McCune-Reischauer: An’nyŏnghashipnikka che irŭmŭn Mok In(-)un-ipnida. 🇰🇷: 안녕하세요 당괴엽입니다. Revised Romanization: Annyeonghaseyo Dang Goi(-)yeop-ipnida.
I'm kinda late but North Korea does get some tourists from China. Don't really know if they are allowing anyone else in the country right now though so there may be more/less than we think

Socialism works. Compare small and isolated DPRK to any country in Latin America or Africa with their slums and huge crime and poverty.
😅lol

Is there a reason that DPRK Romanizes the name as "Chosun," while in Korea they use the spelling "Joseon"?
