Fun Fact: Did you know that crocodiles can go for several months without eating? In extreme cases, they can go 3 years without eating anything! They conserve their energy by staying motionless or moving slow.
When I was a small child there was an educational TV show called Wild Kingdom. They would show real nature scenes that were as brutal as my zebra video.
It depends. If you’re watching them because you are amazed & shocked by how brutal nature can be, then nah. If you’re watching them, but think about jerking your jerky to it or want to do this to animals, then that’s pretty bad. I’m sure it’s the first. 👁👁
I did not know in advance that this crocodile attact of the zebras was going to happen. I first began my trip in the United Arab Emirates. I was working my way down through Africa for many months. I went to Oman, Ethiopia, Djibouti, South Sudan, Tanzania and Kenya. I had not planned anything in advance. Most of my traveling is not planned out. It was just sort of a coincidence that I stumbled upon this river crossing of Zebras at Maasai Mara and I filmed it with my cell phone.
Every year starting around July the Great Wildebeest Migration begins in Kenya and Tanzania. During this time the zebras need to find grass to eat in order to survive. There are many rivers full of crocodiles that the zebras must cross in order to get to that grass. I was in Maasai Mara in Kenya during the Great Wildebeest Migration. I also crossed over into Tanzania.
I was watching from our truck on the Kenyan side of the Mara River while filming the video. The zebras were running across the river to the Tanzanian side to eat the grass there.
Every zebra has a different stripe pattern. Just like no 2 people have the same fingerprint, the same is true with zebras and their stripes. Each animal has its own unique stripe pattern! Why zebras have stripes is still baffling scientists, but there are a few different theories! Some experts believe it is to stop flies from landing on the creatures, or to help them cool down.
I am not a professional photographer. I basically just pulled my cell phone out of my pocket and started recording the zebras crossing the Mara River. It makes the footage that I took with my cell phone even more amazing because it got so many millions of views on RUclips. National Geographic would love to get video like this! I'm sure National Geographic and other big nature programs carry around tens of thousands of dollars of equipment. I saw a photographer with a $35,000 lens. I did not have an expensive camera like those large professional productions use. There was also a lot going on in the background while I was trying to record this attack. The wind was blowing, and we had been waiting out in the sun for many, many hours for the zebras to finally decide to risk crossing the river. I was kind of exhausted and sort of balancing on the top of the safari truck. There was nowhere for to put a camera stand to stabilize my cellphone. Every breath I took shook the phone in my hand. So, at times I was holding my breath for long periods trying not to move the phone/camera. I actually could not even see what I was shooting at because of the sun in my face. I was just recording blindly in the direction of the action. Only afterwards when I was looking closely at the video did I clearly see the entire animal attack that I captured.
Hey - it's just like George Carlin said many years ago. Who wants to go to a car race and see 80 drivers drive 500 hundred miles in a fucking circle ? I want to see a crash !

I am sorry to make you sad. It is hard to watch. However, that little fought so very hard. The fight to live is inspiring. She took on 5 crocodiles in her last battle for survival! She will not be forgotten!
This is what life is about. Everyone and everything has to struggle in order to earn the right to survive. This was also the reality for most humans not too long ago. We were always under the constant threat of literally being eaten alive. I dont think its sad, I think it is necessary. The weak must die, the strong must survive.
@@WesleySouthernYT Wrong, if the world were as you say it should be, animals wouldnt have evolved to adapt to their environment and we would still be unicellular organisms. The weak die, the strong survive to make more strong. Its very simple.
