Anyone who struggles with the collector, go for a spell build. Then, defeat the enemies (with one hit preferably) and just abyss shriek (or use weaker version, forgot its name) to hit it when it comes down. Worked first try for me
If you have shade cloak it will help but i used Stalwart shell, quick slash, defenders crest, and quick focus if you can get away from the watchers you will be able to heal pretty fast cause your getting a ton of geo.

you can substitute strength out for Dashmaster too if you want to do a less hit run

He seemed to equip thorns. And how about sharp shadow too.
I just used grubsong, shaman stone and flukenest they got wrecked in two hits my shade soul flukes killed them
