I totally agree with all those that says Nollywood is dead. Back then when Nigeria movie industry was actually producing good films; but same cannot be said today.
Sho ya right..here it is April -23-2023 and nothing has changed for the better..If anything it has gotten worst.😠The reason I'm watching this blockbuster classic again the real NOLLYWOOD.🔥👍🏼💯💯😎
Growing up This was the only movie my dad watched, after my mom died in 2000 he was left with 4boys to raise, he brings us together to watch this movie and learn from it...
Nostalgic. See me tearing watching this again . My late mom best movie . I was 8years old 1998 when this movie came out now I’m 34 , Good old days . The soundtrack is everything 😢😢
1:08:00, "but i told you, a thousand times i told you, to help your uncle fast". This line made this movie everything. and it was kind of all about Eucharia Anuobu.
So Authentic even the soundtrack from the beginning is far better than some musics of our time, I’m a Ghanaian who loves Nigerian movie and Nigerians in general, Nigeria movies have evolved, especially those on Netflix, I wish they produce our old movies again, with all the equipments they have now they can, rather trying to copy the western movies which is mostly fictions. 🇬🇭❤️🇳🇬✊🏻
Old Nollywood movies were to educate and help us correct our wrongs, but the today's Nollywood is to entertain with nothing to learn from it. Old actors were impeccable. When you watch most of them, they leave you with tears and nostalgia..
Very nice movie. Why do we wait until a loved one dies to give them them all the things they can no longer appreciate or need? Take care of them while they are still here and need help.
Bro…. I can’t watch a movie multiple times now, back then we watched movies multiple times, I miss it when we were original, when we didn’t have to be like others.
If I had the approval and go ahead of the owners of rights to this movie, I’ll love to do a reproduction of this movie with modern day cinematography! Movie with lots of information and less side attractions! Pure literature
Hello. Thank you for vintage movies such as these. They always awaken childhood memories. Please, can I ask for more? SINS OF THE FATHER (Pete Edochie, Kenneth Okonkwo, Liz Benson), BOOMEREANG (Peter Bunor snr and jnr, Pat Attah, Susan Patrick), NIGHTFALL (Charles Okafor, Susan Patrick, Peter Bunor snr), BENITA (Pete Edochie, Saint Obi), HEARTLESS (Eucharia Anunobi, Saint Obi, Amaechi Munagor), FRUSTRATION (Pete Edochie, Liz Benson,) BANANA. I'll be so grateful!
I have been crying right now viewing this awesome movie after longtime ago, and I can't believe myself am here crying like a baby in 2024 since this was released in 1998. Emotions and my pain of being in a country where to survive is nothing to write home about. Chai! This is how good wives are being painted black for what they know nothing about.
Wow lot of memories when nollyhood was at the peak. Always a wonderful feeling to see the popular faces in their much younger days. Great lesson learned from this movie. Let's be good and helpful to one another always
Now I know why Tony Umez, Eucharia Anunobi and the late Racheal Oniga were household names. What a performance! The directing was topnotch. And then the soundtrack? My goodness! I've never cried so hard because of a movie.😭😭😭
Nollywood movies is not dead. Infact it's improved in terms of visual and casting. Yes we still go to old movies but the reason we fancy old movies is because it gives us old memories and even if the movie is not sweet, a part of your brain will assume it's sweet. That's why old music still hit till now regardless of how good new school artists are. Whatever that gives you memories of your olden days will always hit different. I hope you understand better.
What a useless man he even bought a car for his gf on her birthday but couldn't give ordinary 25k for house rent some people are very wicked in this world really.
I can watch this film every day it thought me a bitter lesson in this life,. With all the fake promises of uncles and aunts hahahahah I remember those days my uncles will tell as soon as you finish your school your coming to America. Immediatly the results are out his number will never go through again aways busy. Hahahahah man Don suffer. I thank God for it makes me never to rely on man but God.
Everybody just watch only old movies, they are the best, the uncle of tony omez is cursed to suffer, I hate such relatives who don't help in times of trouble, but in funeral they are so generous
Its just same as. Rebuilding and repairing houses when a loved one is dead, why not do it when the are alive and healthy??? Even in our present day. Noting from this movie has changed. It's still happening and will continue so.. May our Creator help us all...
Nollywood realy need to look back. I could watching then Wit passionate, getting d messages. Thanks for fielm lik this. Pls I need more of old films with meaningful idea.
Wen I first saw this movie I was still little, I did not understand anything, but here I am crying like a baby, Bcos this is wat is currently happening in my family....so sad....
Tony's behaviour keeps reminding me of my elder bro no difference he can never help you instead of opening up to you he will keep promising n turning u down until u give up urself🤣🤣🤣
,wicked people do cry😭 a lot in funerals n make a lot of promises that thy will help the deceased family after their loss and when the deceased needed help when he/she was alive all thy gave was excuses n nothing to offer!!...all in all to God be the glory
"Now u go see how burial go heavy" What a society we live in, we can't help those in need when they are still alive but we prefer to spent huge amount on their burials, what a cruel world😓
Just because a family member is affluent doesn't mean they'll assist other family members. Great story! But why couldn't he assist his uncle when he clearly could, I wonder. I echo the sentiments of all those that said that Nigerian movies have lost their identity.
To those saying nollywood is dead, that’s not entirely true. There are still some present nollywood movies that makes sense and has morals... for example look at ‘breath of life’, ‘momiwa’, ‘sista’, and many more like them. Please give them their roses and stop condemning nollywood as a whole just because of some bad movies.
What a movie!! @NollywoodChannel, if possible can you please find and upload a movie by Rita Edochie, Tony Umezi and Eucharia Anunobi movie. Eucharia was Tony's good wife, she then met Rita Edochie who made her change to the worst wife and later started seeing other men!!!
This thing still happening in Nigeria and every where in the world . The person that helped you is your helper not to depend on someone . People can not be trusted because they will let you down . Sad for his uncle .
I'm back on here again in 2024. You're a legend if you're here with me.
Yes oooo
Watching still.31st May 2024
These are good movies back in the days. We lost our identity trying to be like others...

You can say that again.💯
I totally agree with all those that says Nollywood is dead. Back then when Nigeria movie industry was actually producing good films; but same cannot be said today.
I tell you
Agreed
Just imagine we still had the Nollywood of the good old days with today's level of production/camera & sound quality.
I can't waste my time watching Nollywood of today. It's not possible!
Sho ya right..here it is April -23-2023 and nothing has changed for the better..If anything it has gotten worst.😠The reason I'm watching this blockbuster classic again the real NOLLYWOOD.🔥👍🏼💯💯😎
I just can't stop crying 😭😭😭😭 I miss my childhood days, it's so sad the world has changed alot.
True
I remember when i was a child, my siblings and i use to recite some of the scenes word to word. 😊
Growing up This was the only movie my dad watched, after my mom died in 2000 he was left with 4boys to raise, he brings us together to watch this movie and learn from it...
Awww
One thing I have realised is good movies and music builds good characters in the society.
"i told him to sleep and the hunger will go" lol that was sooo my siblings when we were growing up.
I could relate with dat line😂😂
😄😄😀😀
😂😂😂
This line was so deep
So Authentic even the soundtrack from the beginning is far better than some musics of our time, I’m a Ghanaian who loves Nigerian movie and Nigerians in general, Nigeria movies have evolved, especially those on Netflix, I wish they produce our old movies again, with all the equipments they have now they can, rather trying to copy the western movies which is mostly fictions. 🇬🇭❤️🇳🇬✊🏻

This is Nostalgic. I remember viewing this movie as a 7 year old boy.
It's pathetic that this is still prevalent in our present society 😢😢😢
I saw this movie around the time we had just lost my dad(2001) I cried till my throat was sore. My emotions were all over the place.😭😭
Old movies are the best💞💞💞
RIP Rachel Oniga you will be missed
Very nice movie. Why do we wait until a loved one dies to give them them all the things they can no longer appreciate or need? Take care of them while they are still here and need help.
We played for my husband and started crying. Everyone that watched it in our house cried.
This is what Nigeria movie used to be. We watch Nigerian movie repeated until it was part of our daily meals
Bro…. I can’t watch a movie multiple times now, back then we watched movies multiple times, I miss it when we were original, when we didn’t have to be like others.
Did it occur to u people dat old nollywood movies are still meaningful and educating more dan dis new ones
I agree with you
Say that again
If you did not cry when watching this movie in those days then you don't have blood running in your veins
Even now I'm crying 😢😢
If I had the approval and go ahead of the owners of rights to this movie, I’ll love to do a reproduction of this movie with modern day cinematography! Movie with lots of information and less side attractions! Pure literature

Eucharia took the whole blame even though she was a good woman
1998, in Liberia, we watched this movie inside the cinema, and people started weeping.
All the actors did an excellent job 💯 especially eucharia 🤗🤗
When you marry a crafty man all the blame goes to the wife.
Just finished watching living in bandage..I don't watch nigeria movies but doz movies of late 80s and early 90s are worth watching..
Me too sir I just finished watching living in bondage before this
True confession is also very interesting.

Lady eucharia she's a legend.
Excellent delivery.

The era of good movies, when Nollywood was Nigerian films
Accusing an innocent Sarah also caused his unfortunate demise. The tongue is powerful. The man was indirectly condemning himself.

Pretty Eucharia, so natural ❤
I feel like this movie is not getting the recognition it deserves.

It makes me smile, to see fellow Africans sharing in these films!
