Satgaon's moment with the Divine/First day of retreat/see highlights

Satgaon Annual Retreat begins
The three day Annual Retreat of Mary Help of Christians, Satgaon parish, West Karbi Anglong, Assam began this morning in the parish auditorium.
During the short inauguration, Fr. Albert Thyrniang reminded everyone of the signficance of retreat. Drawing inspiration from Mark 6:31 he invited the participants to 'come and rest' awhile with Jesus', to rest from the ordinary works and from cares and worries and find refuge at the feet of Jesus. He wished that the retreat be a time of renewal and strengthening of one's faith. He warmly welcomed Mr. Subash Sangma and Mr. Daniel Sangma and their team from who who would be animating the congregation in the next three days.
Basing on the Scripture the preachers spoke on importance of a personal relationship with God, family life among others. Fr. Charles who celebrated the Mass reflected on the 'contemplative Mary and actuve Martha'.
About 1500 faithful participated in the annual spiritual exercise.
