    The community is saying the Gov should leave these mine shafts opened they are benefiting from them but only 28 South Africans we rescued from the shaft. 😅😅 The next thing they will be blaming the Gov when people are dying from those shafts

    for me a significant portion of the deceased are South African citizens from the community. Their family members and friends are mining there for quite long time and all community knows about it. These shafts are a real danger for the community. Imagine if a child or even an adult goes down into the shaft. How could for years thousands of illegal miners have extracted gold without the knowledge of the mining company. There is the possibility that the mining company preferred to allow illegal mining so it could by the gold from these individuals, without having to spend on environmental, security, equipment and other requisites of high cost.

    • @EFFgogo-n2c
      @EFFgogo-n2c 7 дней назад

      Yes. It's a common practice in many countries and its called Artisanal mining. When it's legal the miners will operate under the rule of the law and they will pay tax.

      @BuciboLebo 7 дней назад +2

      No. Zamazams are foreigners. Goverment must come up with a framework for local people to mine in a regulated and safe manner. These mines belong to the people of South Africa.This is their mineral wealth.

    These shafts must be closed and these criminals must go back home, imagine if that money used to rescue these criminals was channeled to the service delivery of the community, and look at these "Phuza faces" called youngsters surely they benefited from these illegal operations

      Foreign illegal miners are a result of the post-1994 ANC policy of "open land borders...because those countries supported us/gave us succor in exile". However it is a failed policy and rigorous border controls need to re-introduced (recall the Mandela govt switching off the electric fences on the borders with Zim & Moz) and illegal immigrants deported en masse.

    It makes sense to legalize artisanal mining (hasn't the Govt been waffling on about this for ages??) but who would regulate thousands of shafts nationwide, ensure they are safe, and stop criminal cartels from taking over again. The Govt can't supervise anything successfully. But if there is still gold available it makes sense to give the small man (SA citizen) a chance.

    Misinformation the media house needs to interview people from the main location khuma because they are only focusing on people from ext 6 and they are not representing the entire community. They must specify that they are in ext 6

    • @mburumbaappolus6728
      @mburumbaappolus6728 7 дней назад +2

      These shafts go up to 2800 meters underground, with the risk of rockfalls and flooding. So if they are kept open, they need to be properly regulated with the proper mining & safety equipment.
