@@anthonydavella8350 Ever think maybe there weren't as many women playing BECAUSE they weren't welcomed in these spaces? Women didn't have nearly as many female guitarists to look up to as men had male guitarists as role models?
This is an argument that can go back and forth all day. No matter the origin point, the fact of the matter remains that there were way less female guitarists and the few who did play weren't taken seriously. That discouraged other women from attempting to join the music industry or even just picking up a guitar, because what would be the point if they couldn't share their music with others?
Acknowledging history does not mean we're shitting on men. We're celebrating that things have changed enough with time that women have more positive influences and the same opportunities men do. Don't take this as a negative thing. Equality is ALWAYS worth striving for and this is in no way elevating women ABOVE men, it's placing people on a more equal playing field.

I am not one of the haters, however I do think it would be good for your channel and even your progress, if you worked on complete songs and posted those. People really are much more interested in complete songs, than quick little riffs. But I’m not telling you what to do. Maybe you don’t know, but there is a huge amount of vids being posted these days of attractive women in little clothing, doing things of low quality. It’s pretty annoying, in my opinion. Anyway, I think your acoustic guitar playing while singing is amazing, could you do while cover songs? I’m not hating on you or your vids, but just something to consider. Keep rockin’ :)

I wouldn't say they are "projecting their insecurities" (because that in itself is a prejudice) but what is certain is that they are being prejudicial towards you as well and that's genuinely infuriating. From the assumptions they have about both you and your listeners, to how they collectively harass on you both, to the fact that they believe to be morally superior or justified in their ways, among others are genuinely horrifying and concerning.

Good. Keep doing what you're doing. Also, I can understand the shirt thing since I had something similar happen to me although in a different environment. I started making sound effects vocally while teaching STEM classes. It stuck. One day I didn't make the sound for something I was demonstrating and the whole class stopped. When I asked the class what was wrong, they promptly told me that they learn better with the sound effects. From that day on I always made the sounds while I taught. For better or worse, once you establish something like the look you have, people will expect you to have that look all the time. Critics who do not advise you in love are ones who cannot do what you do or pull off what you can themselves. That's my 2 cents. Keep that positivity up, your smile is sunshine to so many.

I knew there was a reason why I was drawn to this artist's creations and performances. One can see the real spirit of music throuch such people, as opposed to those mega-stars who mimic this attitude by means of production and promotion developed by masters of control who tell us what is real. To see the pure joy in the faces and the authenticity of their art through their songwriting skills is how one recognizes the difference. Art for art's sake. Thanks for posting this particular video thus confirming what I saw from the start, a real artist who creates as opposed to one merely created. Take it from a musician of many decades whose self-worth was found through art and not admiration. Peace.

Yeap that's exactly why I started uploading my guitar videos in like April of 2020, was to track progress...I know tabs and have actually been playing (on and off never serious) for 17 years since I was 17yo but it was 2020 that I started getting serious. I wanted to develop a style and then as I'm ready to progress or evolve, I study up on the theory. I still suck lol. Just keep at it. That's all you can do :)
