Sea Fishing Shoreham West Sussex - REALLY COLD!!!

- In todays video I went sea fishing hoping for a plaice from the shore at Shoreham in West Sussex.
Shoreham is a venue I really enjoy fishing as it is a local mark near where I live and easy to get to.
Was feeling a little down with the way the world is at the moment and needed to lift my spirits so went for my sea fishing therapy.
My spirits were lifted when Rob who is a subscriber and now a friend of mine joined me for a few hours on the beach.
Tide was coming in but overcast ands a really cold Northeasterly blowing which got stronger and went round to the East which never makes for good fishing.
Initially fished a big bait at distance and a single drop down rig with beads trying for a plaice.
Bites were non existent and then a small rattle and I got a rockling then nothing for the rest of the session.
On the last cast Rob caught a small plump healthy looking plaice so we did not blank 😃

Thoroughly enjoyed the day, despite the lack of fish. I nearly spilt my beer when you mentioned the " hairy triangle "!! The big one is out there, waiting for you.

Hi Kevin what can I say about Karen’s interfering know it alls. Thought she would have better things to do with the way the world is at the moment. Morning Kent weather still rubbish and heading out to work but fishing again this weekend in more crap weather. I wonder if the place names over your neck of the woods came from here or vice versa. Understand and get missing people close to us and as you say ocean a spiritual place take care Paul

Hi Danny thanks for that and think the easterly’s were part way to blame. Few others on the beach completely blanked. Am out this weekend but tides and winds rubbish but am still going to have a crack. Worst case get some fresh air and have a laugh take care cheers 🥂 👍🎣🎣🎣🎣
@@SeaFishingWithPaul I agree, tides and wind not great, I’ll be out weekend, struggling to make my mind up where to go. I’ll make my mind up Friday night, might even go Friday night to hit the high tide early hours 👍

The hairy triangle of Shoreham brings tears to my eyes lol. Cracking bass you had and in an easterly wind which goes to show that right place and right bait you are in with a good chance. Others along the beach where we were had similar results with most blanking but there is always next time 🤞take care and cheers to you 👍🍺🍺🍺🍺
Your a very diplomatic man about the lady lol. I always remember my brother-in-law say that catching a rockling first was always a curse on the trip 😂. A great video again.keep up the sterling work.

I was recently told by an angler in the club im in that rockling in numbers is a sign of poor fishing ahead but it was a great video and nice to see the plaice too
I haven’t caught a rockling for over 15 years and yep your mate in the club is right. Generally caught when nothing else around. Weather rubbish this weekend so going to get a couple of hours on Thursday again chasing plaice. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment really appreciated cheers 👍🍺🎣🎣🎣

I must of been about 2 groynes along from you at around the same time and I had no luck at all!, luckily I avoided scary lady!!
It was one of those days when I thought we would catch but often the way of fishing. I suspect the easterly air flow may have had an effect and same wind next weekend although worse as south easterlies just when you would want to fish the tide in the afternoon. Sorry you didn’t catch but am sure others out on the beach probably had similar luck. Next time you are on the beach and Rob and I are about come and say hello. Take care Paul 👍👍🎣🎣

In my youth i came accross many hairy triangles but these days its all memories haha. Must be concerning with family members close to the conflict. Any way all the best paul from grimsby.

Yep a worry when family are near the conflict but would get him home if it got tricky out there.

Hi Jonathan thank you for the kind and positive comments. I am always messing something up on the beach and have broken several rods in the past. Last time year and half ago, shut my car boot having packed rods and heard a crunch. Broke two sections 😆😂 went out this Saturday gone to Hayling and no fish and weed all day so no video. Am out again this weekend to Selsey after Bream so fingers crossed take care Paul 👍🎣🎣🍺🐠

Hi fella good to hear from you and there are some strange folk on the beach who are very opinionated and this lady was really aggressive towards me, maybe she was having a bad day.
It was tough fishing and probably not helped by the easterly’s and another chap a couple of groynes up was fishing same time and blanked. But that’s fishing and it can only get better as spring arrives.

People get some funny ideas about anglers! The very last thing we do is harm the environment. The damage has already been done by relentless Commercials in the last 70 years. We won't see cod fishing like we once enjoyed in my younger years and it's NOTHING to do with anglers.
