I think the reason why Daisy and Rube are seen as they actually are and the others are seen as someone different is because of the time they have been dead. Rube and Daisy has been dead longer so there is no many people that could recognize them.

This episode has one of my favorite interactions that I've gotten to use too few times. Rubes "are we all assholes? No? So it's just you then?" Is great.
And then "don't use your kids like that, it's disgraceful" is another one to keep in your back pocket.
Thanks for these, very much enjoying them.

2 to 5 thousand dollars (it looked like more than 20 bills in that stack to me) might not seem like something life changing to us but doing the calculations, in 1923, 80 years before the episode each $100.00 dollar bill in that envelope would have been equivalent to $1,076 in 2003.

you might remember a past comment of mine...about Rube having a parental role toward Georgia...and trying sometimes awkwardly to push her into being ready to look out for herself...and warning her about her attachment to her family. I couldn't mention it at the time...but now you know...Rube tried to help his family after he passed...a long time ago. It clearly didn't work out. The note was to his daughter Rosie...his unresolved issues are all centered around that...and no, I won't spoiler any details...but I can promise they are coming. It plays into why he has such strong feelings about what Georgia should do with her un-life. Looking back at this series many years later, Rube and Georgia were one of the best parts of the whole show...the delicate tension of watching Rube attempt to parent a sullen, confused 18 year old girl...making up for the daughter he was never able to be there for...often angry and tired because it hurts him to be reminded of what he lost, but still trying to do right by Georgia. I've rarely seen something quite so hauntingly beautiful.

One of my favorite episodes. All hands on deck. We get a story from all the Reapers. Each one shows their characters well. Mason was being Mason, he went through all that hard work, because he didn’t think. The spot was on the Post it. Roxy now seems more chill, in her role as a cop. She didn’t get respect when she handed out parking tickets. For her to someone else disrespected as she was, but who didn’t let it get to him. As someone said, James did not jump. He slipped. Again, you see the type of reaps that Daisy gets. Individuals who led sad and tragic lives as she did. Daisy is the right guide to see them off. The scenes at Happy Time shows how George has matured at work. She didn’t let Delores down, impressed the Efficiency expert, and got to her reap on time. NOTE: in that scene with James and Daisy on the roof, where you see them together. Look past them. You can see the Sun Tower building, the green dome on top. The first shot of Betty on the first episode, where Mason and George and Betty were later sitting on, that’s the Sun Tower building. I recently saw it. It is now almost gleaming dark brown in color as the copper which had tarnished green, were replaced.

That amount of cash is more than what most people made in a year back in 1923. I think Rube got the money either robbing a bank or bootlegging, got killed in the process and that is why he still reaping souls after 80 years.

The guy with Daisy did not jump. It was explained to George that they don't do "Self-endings". He slipped.

Re: Rube & the letter - One thing to consider is when he might have sent it, ie was it after his death? As for Mason & why he didn't just wait, there wouldn't be much humour in that?
